Deo vindice . Notice there are no hate comments on this thread because the cancel culture BLM, Antifa , doesn’t want to learn or appreciate history nor view it as it was back then instead of the presentism they prefer .

I live in the U.K and we left the European Union and it reminds me about South Carolina being the first state to succeed from the Union

It’s sad that he’s no longer looked at as a hero here in mobile. I blame the millennial Yankees that moved here in the last 10 years for that.

I know right ! I’m in South Carolina and we have a huge influx of yanks and just down right commies moving to our state and now they want to remove our heritage and culture the whole time trying to argue we fought for slavery etc. ignoring the looming attempt by the federal government to impose an excise tax after not having been one since Jefferson took office . They ignore founding fathers views of states rights and even the parts of the constitution which allow secession although they try to interpret it differently. Here in my town they libs at the 50k a semester private colleges wanted to remove a statue of Daniel Morgan ..... there wouldn’t be a United States without that man! He defeated tarleton at cowpens ! (After John Sevier whipped Ferguson at kings mountain) they were too dim to realize he fought in the revolutionary war ! They just see white people who built this country and served To defend the south especially as “bad racist white man” men who achieved enough to be loved , revered and remembered by the people for hundreds of years and they want to remove that. Bottom line they are coming for southern Christian values , our heritage , our flag , our liberty. This will get a lot worse before it gets better I’m afraid . Pass on the true history that’s all we can do .... Oh and join the SCV or UDC

This name is still being carrying on. I am very close with with the to date Raphael Semmes. I can see the strength in him from the roots of the original Raphael Semmes. He even has original artifacts from Raphael Semmes. So cool for history to still be preserved.

I never head of anybody hating on Raphael Semmes. When you hate Raphael Semmes, you're sitting at home hating him, and he doesn't know; he's out dancing, having a good time.

Read chapter 25 of the Jules Verne and the heroes of Birkenhead website. You may want to start thinking about putting the statue back.

He was also a great American hero as well, he served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Mexican war served 30 years. People dont know that part of his service. He didnt become admiral by being a confederate seaman.
