My grandfather was a trucker. We played this song at his funeral, with his casket literally strapped to the back of his 18 wheeler rather than a hearse.
Ironically. The vast majority of Canadians are mocking these 2-brain cell Qanon morons. It’s too funny, running out of popcorn and it’s barely stated! Lol
@@davelapointe8742 So Fighting against a police state is some a Q thing? How China of you. Most if not all the truckers are Vaxxed , Its the government surveillance of private citizens that have not commented a crime or even associated with a crime. They want stopped. The 1st Movie i've seen in a cinema at the age of 13. The Movie was rated "18+" but my Father and my Uncle, both Truck drivers at that time, "smuggled" me in the theatre. Later i started truck driving myself, for almost 30 Years, and i've seen the whole of europe and parts of asia. Wittnessed the war in yugoslavia, the fall of the iron courtain, the fall of the USSR and the German Reunion! Priceless,! Hearing thsi song, i can't help having wet eyes, to date! Thanky you, God, Dad, Uncle, Sam Peckinpah and last but not least C.W. McCall R.I.P. ! From Austria. 🤘
@@mitchf6387 in the Year it has been released? Your's is truly a memory, hard to match too! Whatever you're traveling in, and and no matter, from where to where: make sure to keep the rubber side down, in between road limits, and the iron side up, without any scratches! Sincere Salutes in these dire times we all live in at the moment, AGAIN! 😉
@@GArnoldHD The 1978 film was shown in the USSR 10 years later. I've watched this movie several times in the theater. American films were packed, the ticket for them always cost 1.5 times more. The film was remembered for a long time. In 1987, Kris Kristofferson came to the USSR. Terrible times have come again...
@@mitchf6387 this is bizarre. I always thought this song was a super gay parody of something else. now I'm seeing people taking it genuinely serious. I am so confused. what's with the weird chorus with the harmony? it sounds like a mocking gay guy to me. maybe I just heard the mocking voice before I heard this song and therefore relate it to such.
@@Ryzot WFT it has absolutely nothing to do with the gay movement. Just see and hear it for what it is - truckers against the establishment/police/bears in air!
Met my late husband via CB. I broke down and he was the ONLY person to help me, he stopped at the State Police, in his truck, and sent help. We were together 26 years.
One Grandfather blasted through the mountains to build the interstates, the other Grandfather, my Granddaddy, drove a truck for many years, mostly hauling coal in Central Alabama. He taught me everything I know about CB radio, and what trucking used to be. I sure do miss him; he's been gone since 2015, but the invaluable lessons he taught me still serve me to this day. Until I see you again, Sidewinder, rest easy, Grandaddy!!
34 years in trucking and truckers do not get the respect they deserve. Without truckers the store shelves would've, and would, be empty. Everything moves by truck!! God protect and bless all truckers
@@johnescobar9966 Yep, but for that trailer to be railed, a trucker had to get it there and pick it up at destination. There's still such a need for good truckers. There's so much that has to be delivered daily .
Ive been driving for 23 years now and this song is still fun and makes the job seem right. i played this full blast as me and about 20 other tanker trucks rolled into Panama City just a few days after the hurricane bringing water and supplies to the people here. We are still here helping and will be until things get better. 10-4
Thank you for your years of trucking. Truckers are the ultimate unsung heroes. Often a thankless job despite truckers are the reason we have our way of life. Truckers stop the whole world stops.
playing this song at Rebel Radio while driving through Sandy Shores is a different feeling altogether🥺🥺 RIP CW McCall, thanks for blessing us with this song.
@@user-lq6cw2fc9o Agreed. I found some of my new favourite songs on the channels on it. Next Stop by BLEACHED is a great one, and there is dozens of comments of people only specifically finding it due to GTA V lol
My little brother loved CW McCall and CONVOY. . . he would ride his big wheel in the driveway and pretend to talk on a CB radio. Steven was only 50 years old when he died of cancer a couple of years ago and I thought of Convoy and found this video. Great memories. . . . .
Mary Tate daddy loved this song and many other trucker songs. Daddy was a logger, a truck driver, and a mechanic and much more through out his life. Passed at age 54 from a heart attack and a blow to the head. I’m sure your brother and my daddy are friends in heaven
Mary Tate I am sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad in 2013. I lost my Mom in 2016. She developed lung cancer from smoking, but also because she’d been fighting a chronic form of lymphoma for about fifteen years.
My dad used to take me around in his flat faced peterbilt! And he played this song on the radio! It was awesome It was blue and white with blue stripes curling down to the grille he is still alive today and it’s the truck he still uses to make deliveries!
This song was in my dad's driving mix for good reason. Years later, playing GTA, I'd always switch to rebel radio so that if I heard this song, I could get into a 18-wheeler with a police chase..
@@kathleenstanley6751 Watched it 30 years ago with my dad, even though our Autobahn doesn't have speed limits, and you can always out-drive any truck... but the impression, that one watches something glorious, remained since the first viewing. Perhaps time to give it another gander, after not having watched the movie for three or four years.. :)
😊 So happy to say I went to the drive in to watch this. And this song became a relevant part of my life. My mother divorced my step dad, took up trucking and drove for 31 years... Always Break for truckers unless you're in front of them. Time is money to these drivers. Please don't take up too much of theirs.
Just lost a dear friend of mine who was a hard-core trucker. In his will, he wanted his casket to be strapped onto his truck and driven off a cliff rigged with explosives. We had to do some haggling with the city folk to let us, but a will can’t be denied. It was quite a sight to behold. Rest in peace Frank.
The 70s were wild. Not only did they make a movie about Convoys, there was a hit song. Weed and coke and PBR. Bell bottoms, platform shoes and free love. Actors that looked like real humans, real boobs and real food.

This could be the biggest protest in North American history come Friday. This is only Monday and look at how much money they've raised and how many trucks and people are involved. There could be over a million people stuffing into Ottawa with a hundred thousand trucks flooding the city. Trudeau has awoken something that's been just waiting to arise for two years now. It's called the common sense majority. The sham is up. This was about big pharma greed and the reflection that it had on our governments imposing these lockdowns (that go against the Nuremberg code, btw) for political and financial gain. Trudeau and the liberals have to go. What they represent is not what the vast majority of Canadians represent. I have honestly not felt pride of being Canadian since I was a young lad playing hockey. This convoy has reinvigorated that sense of pride
Oh, when convoys were legal. My dad was a truck driver. We used to slide in among the convoys going east when we were on vacation. They saw his company tags in the windows of the motorhome. It was great!
@@11Survivor one truck crashing/stopping suddenly and every driver behind gets pancaked, causing mass casualties, millions of dollars of damage to goods, and a massive mess on the highway. Ed Newman OutDoors As kids in the 70s we would sneak into the garage at night to talk to to each other on our dads’ car CB radios. Never even occurred to us to actually take the car out for a joy ride!
My grandfather loved songs like this, and this and Mississippi Squirrel Revival were some of his favorites. There's something about those two songs, it's almost like I can feel him with me, like he never left. Rest in peace, grandpa.
My dad was a trucker all his life. He hauled damn near anything you can image excluding oversized loads and dual trailers. He died 2 years ago in May due to lung cancer. May he rest in peace.
Just lost a very good friend recently who was known as rubber duck by his other trucking friends. This is the first song they played at his funeral and it just felt right
Free to take a dump on homeowners front yards, block delivery routes for meds and groceries for seniors, pollute downtown air, make kids afraid to go outside to play, harass homeless shelter staff, harrass employees of small businesses....so much freedom from law and order, and civilization and common decency.

I was 6 in 1976 spent the summer vacation trucking coast to coast in his gmc astro 95 350 cumins big cam 13 speed and a great dane reefer. Did it in 77, 78, and 79. Best years of trucking. I have had uncles and cousins that drove trucks, my brother, and my best friend are also truck drivers. MAD respect for them and the job they do, not just now, but EVERY day!
There should be an Easter egg in GTA 5 where if you drive the truck from the music video while playing the song on the radio, you can make the truck fly
When you had that mission where you steal that truck that’s being escorted by the military this was playing when i was driving and i laughed so hard that i would just sing along to it
I'm 27 years old and I'm French... I listen and watch this movie since I was kid... it's one of the things gave me the desire to be truck driver... I drive trucks since my 18, but in France, it's not the same... truckers is not a family anymore... 😔 I try to keep the reel value and the respect from old truckers but in vain... My biggest Dream is to drive these trucks on these american roads... the american Dream 🥰 God bless America, and God bless Truckers 🤝🏻🤠

They need to play it once an hour across Canada, and the Canadian version with the freedom convoy on its FIFTH day, landing on Parliament Hill on Saturday from 12pm Canadian time.
@@gymguy25 That's going a bit too far, an independent store owner should have the right to who goes into their store, if they don't feel safe having unvaccinated people in their store then they should have the freedom to kick them out.
indeed. The song is about civil disobedience (without burning down buildings or attacking people, BTW) and it inspired the 1978 movie, "Convoy", with Kris Kristofferson and Ali McGraw, which was also about freedom from government overreach. CB radio was at its height of popularity in 1978.
A song about a cop who was after truckers because they were truckers. Nothing about vaccines which protect us all. Also notice the movie had African Americans who were against oppression by the police as well. The truckers protesting today are tyrants because they are costing people jobs and money and impeding progress.
@@hiphopunike14 The 1975 song is simple civil disobedience: "I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck, we just ain't a-gonna pay no toll", So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight, I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4" much like today. And please drop the race-baiting.

Right wing sellouts truckers, lolz. You guys make less than half of what teamsters make. Always remember truckers outlaws, anti government and pig. Acab! No gods or masters.
My brother was a truck driver. My sister and I went with him on a few trips growing up. Fell in love with the big trucks. Everytime I hear this song or any truck dealing with a big truck, I think of my brother in his truck.
My daddy was the oldest of 12 kids. He and 8 of his brothers were truckers. He died in 1995. This movement makes my heart swell with pride. I had a tough relationship with my dad, but he'd be right there in the middle of this if he were still alive. God Bless this Convoy 🙏🏽 ❤
Im not a trucker and nobody in my family is and im exploding with pride anyways, its one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen. RIP to your dad, you know hes smiling down at this, its probably visible from heaven at this stage lol
I've been trucking for over 40 years. The truckers have been disrespected for years. Now the very people who have treated us with the most disrespect are finding out just how rough life is, without the lowly truck driivers! " SUCK IT UP TRUDEAU, IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GO"!
I guess y’all don’t see the under tone of the movie. If the government keeps pushing and the dot becomes anymore corrupt?! This is bound to happen again. It’s hard to understand the movie if you’ve never lived this life as a driver
Rockstar Games did a good thing buying a license for this amazing song for the game. American Country music is one of my favorite music genre, and old movies with country music are even better. Love this song, movie is algo pretty good. Being a truck driver must be rough and hard, although enjoyable. God bless the truckers of the world.
I became a trucker right before Covid 19 truly hit bad so I feel lucky somewhat, I landed a job and still working at same place closer 3 years later. I love listen this song sometimes while driving and the moment notice you got many trucks following you in a nice big convoy, its beautiful sight. If only would have trucker radios, probably would be chit chat going on along side asking if speed needs to be increased.

Fun fact:The Black Widow's truck rolling in the turn wasn't scripted. The stunt driver just cut too sharp and the trailer went over. It looked good so Sam Peckinpah decided to use the shot as if he'd planned it.
