In this video I show you how to swap seats out of a 2014-2019 GM into a 1967-1972 GM truck (c10).
Wiring:
DS = Black (ground), Red/yellow stripe (primary power), red/brown stripe (aux power)
PS = Black (ground), red/ brown stripe (primary power).... no secondary power
brown stripes might actually be black, its hard to tell for me, its a brownish black stripe color
You can remove covers and foam to easily reveal other wires if you wish to depin safety accessories from the seats.
CTS seats have a thinner back and may be a preferred option.

Hey dude, I found your channel by accident and glad I did. Most of the channels I've seen on RU-vid for rebuilding 67 to 72 gm trucks don't go into any explanation on why and how they are doing something and glad that you do!

Yeah when I was looking a few years back the only thing out there with in depth how-to videos was a dvd a guy was selling for $100 online. I emailed him and asked for some snips of the videos to see if they were actually worth $100. He sent me a nasty reply back so I decided to start posting RU-vid videos for free to help people. Thanks for watching - I hope they help. Please share the videos if you like to help the channel.

Good start to your channel, a little audio work and you'll be on your way.

If you know much about audio and could offer some tips that would be great. I’m just using my iPhone because I don’t have a nice setup. Thanks for watching

Exactly my thoughts on the audio comment. Also, a little more in depth explanation on the specific wires you kept & utilized for the power seats would be nice. Good work!

@@MAYCOCustomRestorations The audio was very low for most of the video. It could be that you just need to turn up the microphone gain setting. I would try that first. If that doesn't work you may have to look into getting a wireless mic of some kind that you can clip to your collar, so your voice is always loud enough.

Unfortunately I thought the audio was too loud so I turned it down in the editor. Next time I won’t do that

Hey, is there any way you could get the factory heated/ventilated seats working from the denali seats? I just picked up a set of 14-19 denali seats I'm going to swap into an 80's truck. I thought I could just run 12v power to the factory heat/vent motors and run them to relays and toggle switches? I really wanted them for the ventilated seats because I'm in Texas, but now I'm worried I can't bypass the memory computer in the seat. I figured the vent motor would just have a 12v power and ground wire going to it

The climate control module should be located under the passenger seat. That communicates with the BCM and the toggles for the heat/cool. Because of those two components its a problem. Really the only way to utilize the factory heat strips would be to buy a kit with a switch and a thermistor and just splice in the heat pads in the seat. The 'cool' function is literally just a fan so it should just need a 12vdc supply. You could probably pull the dash buttons and wire them into all of this but its not going to be a plug and play deal.

Did the heat portion end up working all right?
@MAYCOCustomRestorations
@MAYCOCustomRestorations 9 месяцев назад
I think I mentioned it on the video, but I swapped out the factory heat equipment with aftermarket heat equipment, which I believe I show that too. You would need the dash module and the passenger seat module to get the heat to work. And you’d also have to wire all that up so rather than do that I just got aftermarket heat kit and put the switch in the bottom of the seat.

Will you do more modern things to the interior? Or just the seats?

I am putting vintage air and probably Dakota digital in it. I haven’t decided how I’m going to do a stereo but I want a backup camera somewhere. I’m thinking I’ll install a rear view mirror with a back up camera built in. Still a lot to do.

Good content. But your volume is all over the place. It makes it hard to listen most of the video throughout.

I have struggled with the sound since the beginning. I am going to get a Bluetooth mic to clip on my shirt, at least that’s what appears to work better for some. Thanks for watching

How did you fix the back rest on the passenger seat
@MAYCOCustomRestorations
@MAYCOCustomRestorations Год назад
The seat frame was primarily bent in the lower section of the frame (because of the wreck). When I replaced it, that corrected most of the problem. Like on a lot of these trucks though, the upper frame was bent back in a twist. The upper frame I bent back most of the way by twisting it back. I could have totally corrected it if I spent more time on it. It just needs a little stiffening brace welded to it. I figured if mine starts to go back I’ll pull it and fix it for good.
