please tell me how to make in R17? i can't find opensubdv bilinear....

Hi there, yep Opensubdiv was introduced in R18, but you can achieve the same thing in R17. Take your Cylinder out of the Subdivision Surface (and delete the subdiv) Do a 'Make Editable' on the cylinder so its no longer parametric. Then mesh - commands - subdivide (in the settings make sure subdivision is 1 and Smooth subdivision is off) Then just put your new cylinder as the cloner object. Let me know if that works for you, cheers!

Thanks, this worked fine with R17.a pitty though that the cilinder ceased to be parametric. ( thinking of upgrading to R20... )

I didn't know to hold shift makes child and ALT makes parent, I'm so surprised that I've never seen these two basic things in other tutorials, by the way your tutorial is flawless, without any prate and so accurate and simple. Thank :)

Hi Emma, thats just a blue light in the top right and a red rim light from behind, nothing too fancy. I hope to do some lighting tutorials in future and also have a course in the pipeline. You can also access all of my render projects on my patreon page if you want to see the exact setup. Also I do all my renders in Octane render which makes setup time so much quicker.
