Live To Roll - This is my morning stretching routine I do every single morning. I stretch for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes everyday, some days don't traveling or in a hurry I would do a lighter stretch but I still stretch for about 40 to 45 minutes because my legs are very tight in the morning. I also do some stretches at night before I go to bed and I will post that video sometime in the near future.
I stretch both my legs, hips, core and and as well. after about 50 minutes stretching my legs and hips and stuff I roll over onto my stomach for about 15 to 20 minutes to help get that extra stretch in my hips and core.
Thanks for watching & please subscribe!

I'm a C5 quadriplegic. Really helpful to see your spasms. I have had an uptick in mine, tremor like (right as your leg goes straight), lately and it's really helpful to see things in context of other quads. Cheers!

Enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing. How big of a roll do you think stretching in the morning plays for your spasms throughout the day? I have insane spasms normally and already on a high dosage of baclofen. I don’t ever stretch in the morning and wondering if that would help with my spasms throughout the day. I I am going to be driving soon and worried about my spasms interfering while I drive.

Zack Collie I am a c3/c4 incomplete and my spasms were pretty bad at first and I stretch every morning and they have gotten way more controllable and seem to be a lot less intense

Hey Zach! So I have really bad spasms everyday and have had such the beginning of my injury. I used to take a ton of baclofen as well but I had to wean off of it for a study I did at UCLA and just never wanted to go back after that. So if I stretch for that 4 hour more in the morning I'm usually pretty good for most of the day but if I stay two stationary the spasms will build up so the more I move or transfer or just kick my legs off the chair let them kick out a little bit and then come back up All that stuff will help me avoid bigger stronger spasms later in the day. I also do a stretch in the evening after dinner when I'm in the couch to take off my shoes and I stretch my legs and ankles one more time which helps again as they start to get stronger through the day. I actually wanted to talk to you about another thing so I'll message you on Instagram and we can talk about spasticity too if you want for sure 👍
@zackcollie3364

Live To Roll Yeah I have had pretty crazy spasms since my accident first happened. Doctors told me they would eventually go away or die down but they never did and I had to go on Baclofen because my spasms interfere with my daily life. They still do even on baclofen. When I am stationary for too long in my chair I can feel my body getting tighter and tighter and building up for a huge spasm. My problem is when I am by myself and have a huge spasm I can’t reposition my body or put my feet back on the foot plate. Would love to talk more with you I will keep an eye out for your Instagram message!

Thank you for the very informative video about leg stretchings, Sean. I rarely have my wife and therapist stretch my legs every mornings (twice a week at the most) but because of this video, I'll reconsider having them stretched for at least 4 to 5 times a week. What I usually do every morning is loosen up by moving my hips while on my side for about a couple of minutes to get the blood circulating and to prevent me from getting dizzy before stretching my upper limbs then proceeding to a 30-minute quadriplegic upper body workout. Spasms are also a bother but only for over a minute at the most. Most of the time when I have almost continous and sometimes violent spasms is when I've got a urinary tract infection. The spasms always settle down once my u.t.i. gets treated with antibiotics. Always stay safe and in the best of health & I'll be looking out for your next video, man.🖒

Those are some intense spasms. Why keep fighting them? Have you considered getting a baclofen pump? THE BEST decision ever.
@LiveToRoll
@LiveToRoll 2 года назад
Yeah they get pretty crazy lol. I have considered it but don't really think it's an option for me right now. I'm just not super comfortable with the surgery and having the pump under my skin. That's just my personal thing but I know it works really well for a lot of people including my friend Zach that was on the show talking about baclofen pumps. Glad it's working out for you though! 🤙

Thanks! It's definitely taken some hard work but I like being independent. I have a suprapubic catheter not a foley.. Foley catheters are not good for long term use but I had one the first couple months of my injury. 👊
@nelson.caderma

@@LiveToRoll I am running a suprapubic catheter as well. Do you use a leg bag during the day and a night bag at night? Have you any problems with UTIs. I had major issues with UTIs until I increased my water intake from 2L to 4L per day in addition to other fluid intake. Do you find it difficult to empty your bag when you are out and about?

Sean, Sean, Sean. Of course I gotta throw in my 2 cents. Consider stabilizing those legs straight at night! those knees up to your chest for 9 hrs is nothing more than avoidable contracture for your hip flexors, abdominals and hamstrings. You work to hard to make that mistake..... Dig the stretch tho. Badass shirt! Your AQ shirt is ready to ship just get me the address.

how to keep legs straight?
@theangryquad3127
@theangryquad3127 5 лет назад
@@666nemeesis Thats routine is different for everyone. For me I set my feet on a pillow at the foot of my bed. Although they spaz for time to time they typically remain in that position for the evening. I can also manipulate the feet to get a prolonged stretch to avoid extreme plantar or dorsey flection.

@@666nemeesis This injury is a "HUGE" blowme sandwich! Everything is trial and error. Originally I had the boots. Had a problem with too much pressure in one spot, no problem but they hadda go!
