It takes a brave person to attempt a dig this deep into the guts of both generations. I bet there will be some others giving it a go now that this maniac showed it’s possible. Far fing out man!🤟🏻🏁
Yep I’m probably gonna do it myself. It’s amazing how a lot of that stuff just actually bolt in with some minor modifications I always knew the drivetrain would fit with cutting the tube down and some other modifications, but to see someone actually do it. Now I’m excited to see the finish product and perhaps take on this project later on this year.
I initially thought this too. Then I realized GM cuts costs on their cost cutting measures, so it doesn't surprise me they made the exact same car from 1997-2019. And if you read All Corvettes Are Red, you will see why the C4 lingered on as long as it did.
dude I was literally just thinking yesterday "I wonder if a C7 interior would bolt into a C5?"; never did i consider swapping the ENTIRE rest of the c7 but this is so damn cool, subbed. 🤙🏻
Amazing they left those bolt patterns the same. C5 with an LT…thats awesome! Per RPM, a TR6070 swap into a c5 requires shortening the TT and linkage 1.75”. Love this kind of swap. Keep us posted!
I'm glad you are documenting it. I'm in the Facebook group you started posting it on. You are moving through this a LOT faster than I thought. Please keep us updated.
Just made me want my c5 even more please drop more videos and be consistent this is truly amazing 💪🏽💪🏽 if you ever need a fpv drone pilot for a video let me know
Subbed for sure! Although i redid all my c5 interior, now i wish i knee this would fit. Makes the car look so much more modern. Although my corbeau seats i love.
This is just insane, cant wait to see how everything turns out, i might do the same down the road cuz C7 are really expensive and also i like the body lines of the c5 more. Can't wait to see more man, keep it up.
This is cool. I wanted to swap my c5 interior for C6 and wondered if it would fit. Looking at this it Def should. I would upgrade all the speakers instead of putting in the stock ones if it was me. Great job so far! Can't wait to see the final product
As the owner of an immaculate '04 C5 Z06, I completely approve of this! lol What an insane amount of interchangeability. I knew the C5/C6 were highly interchangeable but the C5 to C7, who'da thought it? Subbed and awaiting further updates.
Balls the size of a ZR1! Hahaha badass man! Here us C5 owners can’t even fix our bad grounds(me) and you said frick it, I’ll just make mine a C7! Subscribed and along for the ride!
@@TheWolfMatt so when I picked the car up from co part i noticed it had longtubes on it and once I got it fired up I noticed the Cam but other than that it seems to be stock
@@Gunrcowan You may want to pop off the timing cover to see which cam is actually in there. You'll need that info for tuning when it gets to that point. Great job so far bud, amazing work at getting all that swapped out.
@@TheWolfMatt 90% Chance I’m gonna end up pulling the motor completely apart and going through everything and changing the cam and fixing the heads since some LT1s tend to have LS7 syndrome Might also send the 7 speed off to have the Z06 gear set put in since the gears are a lot tighter
@@Gunrcowan Both great ideas. Most don't know about the old LS7 valving issue and even fewer don't realize that it found its way into the LT1 and LT4. You going to keep the OEM pop up headlights or swap them for the C5R headlamps? I think it'd give it a much meaner and more updated look than original.
Have you made any fuel system progress?? Does the c7 fuel tank fit in the car? If not, I was thinking put c6 tanks it in the car since they fit the c5 and swapping in the c7 pumps and let the oem pwm contoller take it from there?
@@hamburgerman187 so I haven’t hat time to work on the car in a couple months but before I had to go to work I got some parts for the fuel system in, using 02-04 fuel tanks with C7 hats and a custom crossover tube kit from M2 performance engineering
@@Gunrcowan I am going to be starting the process of swapping an lt4 into my c5z this winter so any information you can share would be greatly appreciated. I was reading that 04 cars had c6 style tanks installed in them and was going to explore that route this winter.
@@Gunrcowan I dont have measurements yet but im pretty convineced the c7 gas tanks should just bolt right in. Which would elminate the need for the hat swap into the c5 tanks allowing the c7 syphon system to just work. Do you mind getting some rough measurements on the tanks outta your salvage, this might even save you some time if it fits vs the route your going.
