I hardly comment but I just wanna say man.. this was a great video. I own a '07 C6 and hearing you talk about it made me appreciate it more. Love hearing others opinions on Corvettes and you did a great job bringing up the history and changes through the years.

Get em while you can. Power to weight ratio is awesome, with footprint/height balance amazing. Limited nannies. A simple drivers car. 30,000 km on mine, just upgraded heads, and tires for me so far.

Have owned a black 2005 Jaguar XKR coupe for 10 years, and just added a Crystal Red 2008 Corvette coupe. The XKR is a sophisticated and stunningly beautiful brunette with an English accent, a strapless black cocktail dress, pearl necklace, and high heels, while the Vette is an athletic, barefooted, strawberry blonde from the US heartland, wearing cut-off jeans, a wet T-shirt, and legs that go all the way up. I am in love with them both.

@@khalilsalim5945 Yes, 08+ TR6060 but the GS and Z51 also have different, shorter gear ratios, its a TR6060 MZ6 to be exact.

C6 z06 convertibles never existed. They did offer a 427 convertible but it does not have the z06 frame.

I believe the C6 vert was offered only 13. Has a steel frame. Nice car but won't handle the same as coupe. Likely tons of fun and definitely more collectible.

@@billmcmeekin7909 that’s the 427 edition, it isn’t technically a z06 but has the standard chassis with the ls7.

@@ARehman11194 We live in Canada, and while we do have vettes I don't think they are as common as in US. Hopefully one day I'll see one of these C6 convertibles. They look quite nice in video. But I'm still happy I found my 09 Atomic Orange Z06. An exceptional ride :⁠-⁠) Cheers ARehman, hope your having a great summer rowing a manual gearbox in something :⁠-⁠)

Does anyone out there have a problem with parasitic power loss if you let your Corvette sit for more than a week does it go dead? Does parking it in reverse with a manual transmission stop the parasitic power loss problem if anybody can help I’m all ears.

Do you have the "mild to wild" exhaust kit installed in passenger foot well fuse box? If I remember there were two ways to install it. Either with exhaust butterfly valves open or closed, depending how it was wired in. If I remember correctly, if this kit was installed with valves staying closed, when vehicle shut down/sitting parked, it had a small battery draw. I recall installing mine opposite so mine wouldn't draw down. So after initial start I have to function remote to close inner butterflies leaving my community, as to not being annoying. Check this. An easy check. RU-vid mild to wild install if you have one. Good luck, cheers and enjoy your Z.

you mentioned the auto transmission change, but you didn't mention the manual transmission change from the T-56 to the TR-6060 in 2008. Wouldn't have hurt to mention the valve drop issue on the LS7, but meh. Either way, decent video

Anyone who has an LS7 knows about the valve guide issue. Weather they want to address it, or risk the engine is up to them. For a fractional cost, I don't understand why owners don't upgrade heads, but I couldn't leave mine to chance. Lingenfelter builds OEM upgraded heads for swap. The ls7 is a hype drain you can get an LS three and buy a stroker kit to make it a 427 and it's more reliable than the LS 77 L

Properly built the LS7 is just as reliable, the difference with the stroker LS3 is it will be much cheaper for the same performance

@@Motorsportsgeek The LS seven is the only car that needs work done to it. Every other LS doesn't have that problem so I don't know if you're agreeing with me or you're trying to argue or what because you said exactly what I said 427 made out of an LS three is going to be cheaper than buying a straight up LS seven nobody arguing that point pal the only bad thing about the Strokers is they don't rev is high with the longer stroke

@@oler777 All they need is a valve job. There were 2 different factories where the LS7 heads were manufactured and one of those factories produced flawed heads. There's no way of knowing which factory your LS7 heads came out of so you are forced to do a valve job on any LS7 but other than this factory defect, they are bulletproof like any other LS. This head issue has just been blown out of proportion people now think they are unreliable. I simply corrected you since you didn't mention it was a cheaper option but more reliable which if you compare a stock factory flawed LS7 you are correct but by now people are aware of this issue and have them fixed making them just as reliable. Definitely more expensive hype drain as you call it.

@@Motorsportsgeek It being cheaper was supposed to kinda already be said seeing as a base LS seven cost $20,000 Thats a 50/50 to me when i hear that Also, you can't forget about the harmonic balancer and weak torque tube bushings this gave me a good laugh. It reminds me when people used to argue about the 300 ZX reliability and say it's just a timing belt the engines fine that's the only problem. Not knowing the entire engine needs to be removed if you're going to doGOOD job and replace all the rubber hoses and bad nissan parts

@@oler777 Its the same torque bushings in all 1996-2013 vettes and all harmonic balancers are the same on LS engines. They all fail and are a weak spot, nothing specific to LS7
