Hey Brother! I replaced my leaking C-6 old pan with the new Spectre pan. Spectre get a bad rap on Amazon. Mostly due to shipping damage IMO. Checked the pan for flatness and installed a Lubelocker gasket. Filled it back up and it leaked in one corner only. Re-tightened the bolts up (new studs from Summit). Still leaked!!! Pulled it all off and ordered the Moroso gasket like yours. Cost around $32, but a lifetime gasket that does not leak. The Lubelocker was like $23 but it did not seal in that corner. Moroso, bye bye leaks! Don't go cheap guys/gals, get the Moroso and be done with leaks! Cheers from Motown.

The Chrome pans have another bad rap Gen X does not even consider that unless its a total show truck those pans run with twice the heat a normal pans temp is at and they do not dissipate heat whatsoever..... JUNK leave it alone and leave the steel pan on the trans

Oh, I forgot, do not over tighten the drain plug!!!!!!! snug will do it, will strip easily if you over tighten. FYI Thanks.

Hello, I love your video so much, it teaches me a lot since I have the same 1977 400ci F250 2wd with C6 too. Could you tell me how long your dipstick length is by the way? Mine disappear from the previous owner, and I find many different answers on the internet. Would much appreciate your answer!

Thanks so much. Mine went on a 80’s model 351w out of a bronco. But needless to say the oil dipstick measure 21”. The oil dipstick housing measures 1’ and then port that’s inserted into the block is 0.75”. Hope this helps.

Here’s what I found: www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/need-ford-c6-help-kinda-o-t-but-i-know-someone-here-knows.176118/ the longer bolt on the C6 filter goes towards the rear of the filter. IF you look at the holes for the filter screws....ONE hole is slightly smaller in diameter than the others. That is where it goes. The hole is smaller since that is an alignment hole for the 2 halves of the v-body
