It's absolutely *MIND BOGGLING* that we still get, after Briley Witch Chronicles, *another* JRPG style game on the C64, with even more insane details in it. It probably won't have the long, deep dialogues, but I'll see. And whoa, you have clouds casting shadows, in the sky. Foliage moving in the wind. All kinds of animals. That's unheard of, for an 8 bit RPG of any sort, on any computer and any console. That's not even in most 16 bit RPGs. That's such a lovingly crafted game!

Just wait until you see the Plus 4 version! It is like WOW! But important to note that Lykia is not a JRPG and should not be compared to Briley. Lykia is more Zelda like and is technically a masterpiece.

I loved the opening animation of Lykia and also the quarantinaut demo. Bleak yes, but very engaging. Great work in both cases.

The Lost Island looks wonderful and a free d/l too wow. Street fighter looked impressive but interesting to see how the finished games ends ups.

Love this channel. I don't have any retro machines and tend to buy predominately modern independent / semi-independent games for newer mainstream systems, but as someone who grew up with all the old micro computers and whatnot, I love following the modern retro scene. This channel really does feel like one of those monthly magazines we use to have but in video form. Once the Amiga Mini is officially out and there are tutorials on how to load-up games via the USB and it's not too alienating, I'm likely going to invest in one. Thought I'd add that.

@@RetroGamerNation Looking forward to that needless to say! The Amiga Mini's ability to run games from its legacy catalogue and its ability to run newer games (in conjunction with the level of difficulty it is to install and run them if they do run) is the factor what will determine whether I get one or not. I'm fine with a USB keyboard and other such compromises, but its ability to run games will determine whether it's a fleeting novelty item or something more long term. Can't wait for all the content getting into the nitty-gritty once it's out.

Absolutely Amassing this first game. Super impressive that somebody put so much work in to learning the assembler, and after designed this game. Hopefully this won't be just work of passion and He or She would be able to make some money from it :)

The people behind the game are very generous with their projects and I am sure that the product will do relatively well from a physical sales perspective, especially the Protovision carts.

The funny thing is if most of the games here where released lets say back in 1989-1993 or something for the c64 most people would have said, lies, games like this cant be made on the c64, they would assume that screenshots in magazines where from the nes version or even pc or from the intros of some games from an Amiga version of the game.

My new favourite C64 channel. Really like your approach. You have convinced me to step out of the old games and try more new ones. Only really tried Soulless games which were great.

There was an official port of tutankamon to 64 back in the eighties, but it had much fewer and smaller levels.

how do you record these clips? is it an emulator?

The footage you see is running from an emulator and I use a third party capture tool to grab the footage. The VICE emulator does have its own built in recording function but I prefer to use a third party tool as it gives me a little more flexibility.
