The fastest and most powerful car GM has ever produced is here. The Z06 features many firsts including an all new 8 speed automatic transmission. Unfortanately, I didn't get to try the auto box but the 7 speed manual was fantastic.
So I'm 8 years late to the party. I bought (May 2023) a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible, in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic, body colored vents, exposed carbon hood, with Kalahari interior. Mine is an A8 and I'm fine with it. I had a 1988 Z51 with a stick and a 1991 ZR-1 with a stick. I realize the C8s are great but I'm happy with the performance of my C7, and to be honest I like the looks better. Thanks for the video!

I feel you dude. Why are people so crazy about small dumb stuff? It's all regional but the same meaning. It only shows how much humans care about nothing. The internet could be making us a more familiar people with each other but people can be dumb as hungry zombies. I can't even compare us to animals. There smarter.
C3 Vette is what made me a Corvette fan before I knew exactly what it was. I remember a car lot not far from my house when I was about 8-9 years old (early 00's) and there was a white one sitting on the lot, as beautiful as it could be. To me it looked like a rocket ship on wheels and I had always dreamed of taking one for a spin. I don't think I'd ever fall out of love with them. When the C7 came out in 2014 it instantly made the C6 look anciet...for a while.
Great car review video! The new Corvette surely is one beast of a car. I don't drive stick but the one you were driving kind of made me want to learn how to. The car is ultra quick and such a great bang for the buck! Great way to show off all those qualities. Keep up the great work!
Princeston Mitchell I started driving with manual but everytime I do I get a ticketed because I if I get over 3rd gear I am driving too fast on the street! My record is 13 one year in the 1970s in Los Angeles! and landed in jail every time after the 3rd ticket and finally lost my driver's license! @#$%^&
American here , this Z debate is silly the vid is simply trying to appeal to foreign English speaking markets that pronounce it as Zed. i.e. more sales and more recognition on the virtues of American performance cars. yeah its weird hearing a dude with an American accent say it repeatedly but lets focus on the big picture here of what a sweet car this is !
It's not complicated, click on his account and you will see he's CANADIAN. Canadian's say ZED like the majority of the other English speaking countries in the world. But unlike Brits, Canadians SOUND American for the most part since they are located in the same part of the world. That is the case here for those angry that this so called "american accounted guy" says ZED. He's not American. Many Canadian press were at this same track event. See the videos on driving television's website for example (Canadian TV show). You refer to it the way you were raised.
hannu reinikainen You're an idiot. The Z06, and especially the Z07 have already beaten supercars on several race tracks. That's independent testing, mind you. So where do you get that they aren't super cars? Have you ever driven one? It has more grip than most supercars and can accelerate (especially with the 8 speed auto) faster than a lot of cars that are even more powerful, such as the muscle car known as the Hellcat, which has 707 hp. There's a video proving it. How's that for ya?
The Corvette Z06 has an option to get the Z07 package, which gives you carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and a larger wing for more downforce, i believe it is an 8 thousand dollar option.
Every you tube review I have watched about the automatic transmission on the Corvette says there is a huge amount of lag in between shifts. Tadge doesn't know what he is talking about and is just trying to sell it. Save the manuals

Amazing how many people get caught up on the pronunciation. So what I own a C7Z doesn't bother me what bit I know what it's called. The guy is doing us a favor by showing us his view of the car we should appreciate that. I could complain he didn't mention "weather" mode in the drive modes there are actually 5 modes + in Race there are several more internal modes. I am focusing on the positive in this review good job in fact you are driving my car exactly 2015 yellow M7 love it!

Sean Taylor the automatic is a choice because it is faster and you still have to shiftbwith the automatic with the paddles. The manual is a choice because it is easier to drive in the city and around town and offers a standard that people are used to and enjoy driving. The manual allows you more control which is more fun to people

Sorry I've just heard a lot more from the car, GM doesn't make the whine of the supercharger super loud like the hellcat or anything, but from ever other video you can hear it. Sorry, might just be the placement of the equipment or something idk
Makis Equinox Its probably 2 things. 1. I'm using a pretty directional lab mike so it's not picking up a lot of ambient sound. 2. I'm in a higher gear when I'm hammering it. You never get even close to your fastest laps if you're filming, talking and trying to drive.
they said the 2017 model will be much improved in that, but how ? i didnt see anything changes now and owners with older models are not getting an update on warranty ??!! Chevy sold track ready cars but they are not !! They are even not able to run high speeds and hard acceleration on our Autobahn without loosing power and in the end OVERHEAT !!!!
It has always been called a Z (Zee) 06 - what's all that "zed" crap about? Change for the sake of change? Where did they find those cutesy-trendy fruit loops?
+Sean Wahl most companies that have true sports cars nowadays like Porche, BMW, Jaguar, Bently, Mercedes Benz, Austin Martin...to name a few, do not produce their own transmissions, a German company named ZF Friedrichshafen AG is outsourced for the 7, 8 and soon, 9 speed DCT transmissions, so the fact that GM actually spent the money to design an in house 8 speed transmission to fit into the space of a 6 speed and have it match the ZF transmissions in shift speeds without the clunkiness associated with DCT's at low speed is pretty damn good.

+Andrew Loo not always i've heard Zee oh 6, Zed oh 6, and Z ot 6 which is more of a designer terminology for the numbering....all of which are acceptable and show an understanding of the car world...but your right as far as what americans in general language call it...
