C7 DEAD! - Battery Replacement DIY 

I replaced my battery in my 2015 Corvette last spring at the 7 year mark. Since I was doing the Hotrod Power Tour, I replaced it before it went dead, for peace of mind for my road trip.

We have a 2016 QX 70 Infinity and replacing the battery is a challenge like this due to it being placed so close to the windshield and not having a inch worth of wiggle room either way. Also have to pull off sections of windshield cowl for extra fun. Just purchased a Z51 and the instructions will be valuable for me. Thank you!

That’s funny Marco. The battery on our C7 stingray finally died as well after nine years and 59,000 miles of smiles per gallon. I just ordered a brand new battery from our local dealership. The replacement battery will be a AC Delco gold battery. We also need a new set of Michelin tires for next season. It will be our fourth pair of Michelin tires since we purchased it back in march 2014.

You didn't show the "fun" of trying to get the new battery into the battery well without knocking the cables in the way. It's quite a tight squeeze in that spot. I learned that it's best to tape the cables out of the way with duct tape so that they stay put. Also, don't accidentally drop the nuts while trying to get the battery clamp back on, or else you're going to have to start over since you won't be able to reach down around the battery to retrieve the errant nut. Also... be careful not to complete the circuit with the battery (cover the terminals if you have to) until you're ready, and then make the final connection and allow the car to go through its reset, which will take several minutes and may result in a few unusual messages and codes popping up.

My C7 is a fair weather Vette. It sucks up a lot of juice while it sits. I always hook up the battery maintainer when I park it.

I would like to hear comments about the "LITTLE BLACK WIRE". I keep hearing this wire can cause all kinds of issues.

never knew about the vent tube, had it pushed down under the battery, video helped with removal and install, thank you

Hi there! Today i replaced the battery of my 2016 Stingray convertible, after starting the engine several warning messages came up, looks like the car computer needs to be re-programmed, has anybody experienced this issue? Thanks, Marco

The small pieces that were attached to ur battery, what are they? I just inherited my dad's corvette and the battery was dead Im literally clueless about this car and really overwhelmed by it all. I already bought the replacement and due to the shop giving me the wrong battery the first time, I brought in the old one to show them what I needed and after I got it they said something about a core charge said they needed to keep my old battery and I didn't know any better since I'm figuring this all out did the first time on my own I'm afraid those pieces may of went with it.

Good stuff! Was curious how much trouble it would be to replace the battery. DIdn’t look too bad. The built-in handle on the new one looks like a shoulder saver!
