Let's answer the question if the C8 Corvette is truly a daily drivable sports car. I will run through some of the highs and lows that I have found after using this car every day.
The c8 was such a no brainer. American V8, Naturally aspirated, mid engine, hard top convertible, fits golf clubs in trunk, 0-60 in 3 seconds, under $100k. Sold!
I love how considerate this guy is when he starts it in the garage as to not be intrusive to the newborn child and tired parents. Many will take that information and throw it right out the window! Some people truly are ignorant or petty and simply changing a morning routine can keep everyone in the neighborhood as happy as can be
Very nice presentation, I thoroughly enjoyed this Mr. Collins Sir, Your C8 is gorgeous, very nicely spec‘d, Also a very nice All American neighborhood ! 👌👍🏻
1LT was good enough for me. The frunk can hold over $100 worth of groceries, luv the looks I get when loading groceries in there. Gas mileage is great, compared to my daily driver, Challenger 🐈
I had to subscribe to you. You are to funny , but informative. I turned 63. Retired and said. Yes it’s about time I do this corvette venture. I didn’t want to dive in heavy . Just a Sunday fun drive car in nice weather . I was thinking 1LT. But I think the extra 7 grand May be worth it . Not sure 🤷♂️
This is my dream car im always watching c8 videos this by far my favorite hidden gem of a video I'll like and subscribe you deserve to be recognized and that license plate 😂 my word OUTRAGEOUS
Dude...love the video! Pretty funny! Keep them coming! I almost daily drive mine except for the rain. It could rain pretty bad here in Louisiana and flooding becomes a problem.
Loved this video and the humor 😂 - I’ve been contemplating on getting a C8 myself. Glad to see that you are also in Northern Virginia! Instantly subscribed, looking forward to more content! 🔥🔥
Gerald - you made me laugh. Wonderful video. I've been watching C8 youtube vids for over 3 years. Got my '23 HTC, 2LT in Hypersonic Gray - we share our good tastes - almost 2 years ago. It has been a dream and I enjoy it exactly as you do yours. Your 9 minute video was everything that I enjoy - thank you. Mike
Hi Mike, glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. I've only had my C8 for two or three months and it has been a blast. It's nice to hear from another C8 owner with the same spec. Mine is a used 2022 model and it's been flawless. Thanks for watching!
You're a funny guy. I like the car and the video. I noticed your reaction after you got gas. Here in California where I'm at, I get that same reaction, but even bigger. The V-Power is about $5.49 here in my area and even more in other areas. Only in California! Great video!
Great video. Two suggestions. I put Lowe's insulation board cut to fit in trunk bottom. Heat was no better then an sedan until I stopped then heat from muffers came quickly. Second there videos on proper mirrors adjustment. My 2023 HTC Z51 2LT. Gt2 19 months old 25k. No problems.
Dude you’re funny and great video! Looks like you’re enjoying your C8 as much as me. That rear view cam mirror had me like Fred Sanford looking through magnifying glasses but after a couple of weeks I was good. What I hate about it is if you see a nice looking lady walking down the street, there’s no looking in the rear view for a second look. 😅
We have about 7500 miles now on a 2023 C8 3LT. It's amazing how chill this car can be as a daily driver. I shop light, so I can easily use it as a grocery getter, and in touring mode, it really is a relaxed car when you want it to be. With one quick push of the Z button, that all changes. :D
Debating if I should make the move on a c8 but the only thing holding me back was the daily driver debate. This video solved that issue for me! C8 here I come! Thanks!
I just discovered your channel today. I'm hoping to place my C8 order next month or find that perfect used C8. It will be my daily driver. It looks like we might be neighbors. Look for the ceramic matrix C8 in a few months. Lol
Idky this was funny but it definitely was 😂 this guy could definitely do reviews on cars. And there’s a tunnel like this going to Pittsburg and it always makes me paranoid
I have been thinking about getting a C8 to DD but I live in Cincinnati, we usually only get 1-2 bad snow storms a year but not sure how well a C8 will hold up in the winter. Most vette owners only drive them in warm weather in Cincy.
@@gerardpcollins I can see why you did, but I miss it for you as well, lol! Great video as always. Looks like you have a preference for gray! Good color on both. Congrats on the new ride!
I live in Canada. Even though I cannot use my C8 3LT convertible as my sole vehicle, it is a daily driver for me, even in the winter! Works just fine as long as the snow isn't high, you PPF the whole car and winter tires. Traction is great because the engine is in the back.
😂 I've gotten mine stuck in the driveway with just a light dusting. Moving it out of the garage just to change the oil in my Civic. It's no fun to drive when the roads get cold never mind snow.
@@gunslingre Did you have winter tires? I've driven mine through 3 winters now, no issues at all (touch wood). As long as they plow the roads, it has been just fine, even in -35 degrees Celsius. Fires up every time like clockwork, heats up the seats and steering wheel without me having to tell it. I have an SUV for really bad weather, but the Vette is just fine otherwise. Just put it in snow mode and go. As long as you don't drive crazy, you'll be fine. I've driven through at least 2 snow storms per season and dudes in trucks are shocked when they see me. Most give me a thumbs up. Lol.
Have the same C8 no spoiler or carbon skirts, adrenaline red int., cars mint & wicked(Boston voice), selling it when I can get my hands on a ZR1. daily driving, let the engine & tranny fluid get north of 150f before driving. Use sport/z mode, better mileage, drive, shifts & suspension 😎
So on the rear camera view, the reason it makes you cross-eyed is because your eyes are focused at distance and, when you look at what's in a mirror, your eyes still have to focus at the distance those objects are at. To see what's in the camera screen clearly, you have to look AT the mirror instead of THROUGH it. If you practice changing your eyes' focal length when you glance up at your mirror, you'll get used to it faster and it'll become more natural. It's like looking out your office window and switching to a computer screen.
I just took a close look at my car and the panel gaps on the roof only seem slightly bigger than other panel gaps around the car. But there is weather stripping in those gaps. That may be the reason for slight difference.
The C8 is definitely more capable but the steering feels a little numb compared to the Alfa. The Alfa had unassisted steering which helped it give slightly better feedback in my opinion.
I've had the car nearly five months and it only had one hiccup, but it seemed pretty serious at the time. I had a transmission overheat warning one day then it cleared on its own the next morning. Haven't had an issue since.
@@gerardpcollins so what’s your thoughts on a 2022 c8.r with 17 miles on it for right at 100 grand. Man I m just so up in the air on this purchase because of all the hate I keep reading on the c8 from c8 owners
@GARJENVETTE1 for $100K I would probably go with a brand new 2024 or 2025 C8 so that you get the full factory warranty. The 2022 C8.R would still have some of the warranty left on it, but I don't know if the exclusivity of the C8.R would outweigh the peace of mind of having a brand new Vette with the full warranty. It's a tough call but I view the C8 as a reliable car despite my little mishap. I drive it every day with confidence. I'm not worried that my 2022 will leave me on the side of the road.
