Great running those (6) laps with you Austin. I came out late in that last session to achieve one thing- blow sound and confirm what the stock ACR runs at. I finally got the meatball on lap 6 (94.7db under the bridge at 6,500rpm). My first lap was slow to warm the tires, and I was also running with shot brakes, hence braking way early and longer! I believe our lap times were probably in the low 1:40’s. My first time seeing a C8 on the track so great to see it in the flesh, and to follow you to see how it handles. You got quite swirly in some of those corners hence the chopping at the wheel in your video. I’d say you were probably driving close to 9/10ths. I was probably running the ACR at 6/10th (with decent brakes it’s capable of mid 1:30’s all day long - amateur driver) With that said the C8 represents incredible value for money, it’s half the price of the ACR and 1/3 the price on a GT3, certainly a formidable track toy with the right driver (great driving BTW). I’m looking forward to seeing what lap time Randy Pobst can get with this at Laguna - I’m predicting 1:33 or 1:34… The Blue ACR Driver!

You're validating their design work and marketing it well for them. I had a C6 Z51 and your vids are convincing me to get a C8.

Just FYI. The ARC Viper is a handful with it's high horsepower, torque and areo that produces 1700 lbs of downforce. This is the factory built car aimed directly at the weekend track day fan. The SCCA had officially recognized that the Viper ACR has more track records than any other production sports car with 13 different records to its name. One of these tracks is Laguna Seca. At Laguna Seca the ARC bested the mid-engine Porsche 918 Spider by 1- second per lap or 11 car lengths. With the horsepower discrepancy against the C8 and both cars pushed equally. The discountinued Viper ARC should produce lap times at least one second faster then the C8. Hats off for your continued driving skills that impress anyone who follow road racing and your excellent video content.

Welcome to my home track! Well, Laguna, Sears Point (Sonoma) and Thunderhill also home tracks...but Laguna is my all time favorite!! GREAT job slinging the car around the track at Laguna!!!

You brought me back to the site where my restored 1974 Emerald Green Metallic 911 coupe was selected by PCA and Porsche to be the Porscheplatz example at the Rennsport IV reunion. I like the 101 footage and then the early arrival and even the all night driving to get there. Then somehow you started familiarizing yourself with a couple of the blind entries, the elevation changes and the famous "Corkscrew". While you were doing that, I was doing a twenty mile round trip on the 118 and stopping off at friends of my son Jeff (He has the Boss 2012 Laguna Seca Mustang (rather limited edition). Anyway, watching you start to carve up the track having so much fun in the C8 and finding that certain of the competition which you own might not have met the decibal requirement, meant that the C8 was a, "no-brainer" choice for finding that no one ever really conquers Laguna Seca, but they do start to learn it with hot laps and the use of the noggin. Way to go Aust. AF

This content is legit what we all want to see, gracias muchacho! I know its not super accurate but I timed the first full lap at around 1:40 and that's following the viper. Pretty impressive! Keep up the great stuff!

Just a minor critique - and maybe you're already aware in reviewing the vid - but from the vid, which may be misleading (perspective, and whatnot), it looks like in some corners turn in was a bit early. But then again, maybe that was on account of chasing down the Viper! Which was very cool. But if you look at his turn in, it looked to be a bit later with a bit later apex, which I think is probably a bit more technically correct. (But then we all have to work on not turning in too soon, don't we?) Looking forward to more tracks!

It looked to me that you were a little down on HP compared to the Viper, but you were faster into the corners. Overall it looked like you had faster lap times.
