@@305dadecountyy has anyone ever seen a stock redeye hit this tip speed on camera? Alot of car manufacturers give their vehicles "top speed" they can never actually reach. Aerodynamics are huge when trying to reach 200 mph and the chargers have the aerodynamics of a boat.

If a Vette beats a Chally, it's not really impressive... a Vette seats half the people, can't carry as much, and isn't as comfortable... so it isn't as good at being an actual car, just a sports car. The problem here is guy is I weigh 3400 pounds and you weigh a thousand more! Which is the equivalent of about 100HP alone. Pair that with the fact that I’m AWD, and shift faster then you can blink, with a full launch control system. Zero tire spin. Basically you have to pray to god you get traction and hope you make your shifts. Because the stars will have to align for you to beat me. Double? C8 Z06 has 670 stock; redeye has 790 something stock. Plus like Rick said power to weight ratio plays a HUGE part in it. Typically more motor; more weight. So even if it’s not a Z06, the redeye weighs approx 1000lbs more which plays an enormous role. Still; I was honestly expecting it to be much closer than it was 🤷♂️

I am a Mustang driver and I have had a couple of guys try to bait me into a race. The first one was at a stop light against a challenger... That I was turning at. The second one was against a newer gen Mustang but I let him go because I knew he was going to get stopped at the next light over a hill. I timed my speed over the hill so that by the time the light turned green I literally blew by him like he was standing still, because he actually was.

It's not power to weight. The redeye has a better power to weight ratio. It's being mid engined that gives the corvette much better traction. For modern performance cars traction is the bottleneck.
Thats the one thing I dont get about the car community. Hellcats are heavy as hell, not even AWD and have terrible transmissions. Yet they seem obsessed with the hellcat. The car only has its engine going for it which it cant even transfer into power effectively on the road since its RWD and heavy. Id take lots of other cars over the hellcat.
@@b0ld651 the transmission is horrible? That’s one of the best transmissions for the money and can take serious torque thrown through it without even touching it. And traction in any car will be a problem on all season tires with 800hp.
@@yessuhyessuh2100 I mean a heavier car generally has more traction. Not saying you’re wrong but the main problem with hellcats is their power to weight ratio. A lot of power but it’s trying to move too much weight. The c8 is a much lighter car therefore it’ll be a lot faster off the start.
@@kxngadams424 the power to weight ratio is greater on the hellcat lol you obviously don't know how torque works if you don't have tires big enough to hold the power they will spin all day and also the gearing on hellcats is dogshit the c8 is quicker because the engine is on the rear axel so it doesn't spin its simple gravity increases friction and the surface area the vette defiantly has more weight in the rear therefor it launches better because more traction its not rocket science

I own a Alfa Romeo Quad and my dad just bought the C8 stingray. The C8 was an absolute work of art when I drove it. So much that a c6 Z06 is my next vehicle.

The hellcat was ahead of the vette rear bumper. And hellcat are made for upper speed not lower. Once the hellcat got to 80 mph or so then the vette would have been a distant memory as the hellcat upper power kicked on and vette power slowed down. Hellcats should not even be street racing anyway. They shouldn’t be racing unless they already already going a good speed about 50mph

I’ve ridden in a friend of mine’s C8 twice and it is quite the car. Rides like a Cadillac and has all the power you need. It’s just a wonderful car. I am very impressed.

This is supposed to happen. A z51 c8 does a 2.6-2.8 0-60 from a dig. The redeye would pass it on the top end. Looks like the hellcat had a decent tire setup, so traction isn't an issue here

Vette is a true sport car, red eye is a muscle car, different classes. I will say though as a C6 Z06 owner I get a lot of respect from my Fords and Mopar heavyweights, i also give them respect, Vettes don’t have to prove anything. They will always be admired and appreciated.
