C8 Corvette Z06 Air Intake Shootout! Eventuri VS JLT, who do you think will win?! We tested the two current intakes on the market for the C8 Corvette Z06 to see which one produces the best results on Rob's Stock C8 Z06. Tested on our DynoJet Dynamometer in our enclosed dyno cell for consistent testing conditions including ambient air temperatures & humidity as well as consistent vehicle temperatures.

@@ParagonPerformance Your supercharged ERAT needs 1/4 mile and 60-130 numbers with videos posted ASAP . Same with these ZO6 mods. Without them, it's ALL BS. Also, what's the details on this green wrap? It looks incredible.

I love this type of data. I’d like to also add something I noticed missing, that I personally think could change the outcome. There’s no air flow being force fed into the side air inlets. I’d imagine this cars increase air flow as air flows into them in real world conditions. I’m wondering if that ram air effect would help fill those dips even more if there were fans helping to simulate & aid in creating the venturi. I’d love to see what changes it would make. For example, according to collaway ram air intake on my C6Z, it picks up 15hp above 35mph and requires a dyno tune. Thoughts?

I know first hand that Eventuri and Paragon changed the design of the intake to specifically avoid this exact dip shown in the video. Hundreds of dyno runs and several design revisions over the corse of a year paid off. Just a guy giving credit where credit is due… nicely done!

I installed an eventuri trackside at thunderhill in march, very nice piece. Noticeable crispness, better power, and some weight savings as well. Outstanding stuff, more than i would ever expect out of an air intake on a car like the z06

My take away is that it really seems like GM tuned the factory parts to provide the smoothest curve and eliminate peaks. The JLT loosing power over stock certainly isn't favorable to it, but even with the Eventuri gaining in multiple places, you're definitely going to notice the peakiness of it.

I love my Eventuri intake. I have one on my C8 Stingray and on my C8 Z06. Both also have ported throttle bodies.

The factory intake design is strait out of a Ferrari 458 .The 3 cross over valves are designed to actually have a charging effect ,Ferrari called it dynamic super charging . I would be hesitant to replace the intake for such small gains during your warranty period as a malfunction in the cross valves can cause a major lean condition and guess what they are going to blame!

Can you guys test with the ported throttle body as well. Maybe that cleans up the dip where its not even noticeable.

I never cease to be amazed even at the stock torque curve. It's basically dead flat from about 3700 to 7700 RPM and only tapers off a little up to 8500.

So far there are no after market air filter options for the C8 Z06. The C8 Stingray air filters only gained 5-6whp, nothing significant. Once we have aftermarket air filters we'll be sure to do more testing!

I wonder how much of those dips are due to intake and exhaust cam phaser timing, i had a car tuned before and my tuner just by playing with the exhaust cam phasing was able to raise those slight dips i was feeling

@@ParagonPerformance similar to the McLaren P1 setup. Roof scoop feeding air to the engine directly behind it. But then again. What do I know. I'm not an engineer. I just thought it would be possible that being the C8 being a mid-engine and all.

They made a video measuring air restriction comparison. Just because you can get more air in the vehicle, doesn’t mean that’s the best thing for it.

These dyno graphs don't match up with the several other JLT dyno graph results. In other test the JLT intake is 35+ hp at the same rpm ranges that you say they are lower than stock.....

We have seen gains up to those numbers. There may be instances where it’s less.

Truth was spoken in this video. Hyperbolic claims of 40 hp in isolation are just that. This gentleman explained the nuance. Chevy engineering spent countless hours tuning their stock intake for reasons explained. Sound signature is also part of the equation. A C8 owner is going to have to think long and hard whether changing their stock intake is worth the 'cost' both in driveability and price tag for changing the intake. Personally, I would not. Performance is always about $/HP AND drivability not to mention installation labor and even resale. I would never purchase a modified used Corvette.

For an E-ray. I waited a long time for EV, TQ and AWD. Of course GM shocked up on the price.. then shocked us again when they couldn't honor that price. Hell, at this rate 2025 will be coming and they will up it again before they get 300 out the door. ahhhh 😮‍💨

This just goes to show good of an engineering job “effort” they put into the LT6 Also by using the little throttle bodies in the intake, gives them the ability to not use independent through throttle bodies with variable trumpets “like what alot of the V12 Ferraris Ducati V4s and F1 cars use “ aka saves them on cost complexity and reliability concerns all while having there cake. My big worry with an aftermarket intake would be how it would feel with the less than flat powerband. It’s very very interesting for sure
