I think it's amazing to see the different opinions for these 2 cars. I feel like everyone loves one a lot more than the other. See I like exotic cars and I think the c8 is perfect. I think the C7 does a great job at being a muscle car but it just doesn't call to me the same way a 65 Corvette does.
Ive been one of the guys waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. Appreciate the points and your reasoning behind everything. You're very reasonable and personable, I hope you can keep growing your channel. good luck
Basic takeaway. C7 for the classic muscle car guy. C8 for if you want an exotic car. Ive had the honor to drive both and I confirm. It's fun to see the nose of the C7 lift up to the sky when you hit the pedal. But the c8 feels like a prestigious car like a McLaren or Ferrari, but it also feels like it could tear up the track or the mountains of Tennessee.
Dec. 2022. You’re review of both cars is pretty accurate even 2 years later. For me, I wanted a more raw and connected driving experience. I wanted a manual trans. I wanted more storage space (and ever so slightly cabin space for me). Additionally, I don’t like the cabin controls of the C8 all in row. Awkward design IMO. Last, look at the price. I was able to get a 2015 C7 Z06 Z07 3LZ M7 with 9700 original miles for $3k less than a brand new 2022 C8 Stingray. Then price out the new C8 Z06. $50k above what I paid ASSUMING you can even get one in 4-6 months. Thanks, but no thanks. The C7 is now in my garage and I couldn’t be happier!!
May 2023 I bought a C7 Z06, 3LZ, convertible, in Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. As great as the C8 and C8 Z06 are, I still prefer the looks of the C7. Tons of torque, the traction control really can't help much. Haha! Thanks for the video!
If I had a C8, I would be looking to upgrade to the C7. Engine in the front, actually has a whole trunk, 50/50 weight distribution, manual transmission. There's no contest. And it looks so much better than the C8.
I enjoyed this video very much. I currently own a C6 and will be in the market for another Corvette in a few years--a lightly used one as so many Corvette owners don't seem to use them much! Anyway, although I really like the C7 it is an evolutionary change from my car whereas the C8 is a huge advance. I use my car primarily for long trips so the only reservation I have is about luggage space but all cars are a compromise to some extent.
Im debating these cars right now. C7 GS/Z06 vs C8 Z51 add mods heads/cam or 2650 SC vs C8 Z06. The cargo issue is my major point of contention and the tire cost of the C8 Z06/Eray (AWD means 4 tires at once like n my Stage 2 Golf R). I love how the C8 drives, you forgot about that part mostly. Yes C8 is more planted but your car doesnt have the Z51 package and would really help with that on the C8, especially the PTM package n Ediff. My 16 ATSV had it and with Magride is a beast. My wife made me get the ATSV as the C7 GS I was looking at wouldnt fit the kids at the time. BS move as they had own cars and moved out a yr later. Whatever, The V is dope and tuned now so.. The C7 has the huge storage area I can put my dogs in for trips and the C8s they would have to ride on her lap. I dont think that will work. I would have to keep the V and use the C8 as daily w/V as long trip car as her GTI's seats hit my back wrong. I told her to get another R but NOOOOOOO. We already have issue with trunk space now so it wont be any different as my V had a huge speaker box in it and her GTI can only fit so much. Still, its a hard decision as I want something special and the C7 Z is everywhere. Even if I tune the shit outta of and put 1000hp down its been done before and wont be able to put it down anyways. C8 is classy and can be a ripper if heads/cam or SC by Lingenfelters 2650 or drop their badazz 427 stroker motor in it for about that same as the supercharger kit. I can get a used C8 for $75k-80k drop the SC or 427 in or Spend another $30-40k for the EXOTIC KILLER C8 Z06. That I would have to sell the V and some assets, which is why I have the assets anyway. Just not ready to sell em yet, want a bit more ROI. God its a very hard decision, I never wouldve thought it would be. Can I have both?
To me it all boils down to personal style preference between the 2 generations. So for myself that means the C7 but in Z06 trim. I'll admit though, the Z06 and E-Ray C8's are both stunning and the true exotic experience in that generation.
C8 is more luxurious, people gonna think you’re in a McLaren C7 is a more traditional corvette, a refined culmination of all the best parts of the previous corvette generations.

Form most reviews the c7 is the better driver's car, more connected and controllable. Might need another generation of the mid engine platform to refine it further
Dope cars, but have you noticed that you and #EmeliaHartford have the same nose, and both of your C8's have the same nose. as both of you.... I'm just joking but it is kinda true! LOL! You got a new sub that likes to have some fun!! 10k subs coming up!!!
I would rather buy the c7 because 1. the c8 is way more expensive 2. I hate that square shape steering wheel on the c8 3. the c8 seems to be very small and closed in when u get inside 4. the c8 interior and exterior looks nice but a bit too "perfect" that it seems kinda overwhelming lol 5. the c7 looks much more spacious inside 6. the c7 is a bit cheaper 7. the c7 interior and exterior both look beautiful and not too "perfect" or overwhelming
C7 interior is kind of outdated, not even as cool as Camaro's. But I think that's the only losing point when comparing with a C8. The C8 Z06's engine is cool, but the mark up is kind of crazy.
I own a C7 Corvette Stingray, and yes, I would love to own a C8 Z51 or Z06 one day. That being said, the C8 is just a different animal altogether over the C7. It just depends on what you can afford. Love both the C7 and C8.
I feel like C8s would get got hot in the rear trunk area. It that true? I have c7 z51 and love but all your points are valid. I really want to drive a c8 for the experience but was just curious about that
Good information but they're different cars it's like asking a person who likes apples and likes plums which do you want. I have had 12 new Corvettes currently driving a 16 ZO6 convertible I have the C8 on order hoping it comes soon and as soon as the C8 ZO6 is available I'll get one of those
Just my opinion but i prefer the c7 to me the Corvette has always had its own distinctive look compared to other sport cars also Porsche is a example too. But the c8 looks like it ripped off lamborgihni it looks to simular to a saleen s7 the new nsx lambo & ferrari it just lost its distinctive vette sport apperance that always seperated it from others.
Not a fan of the C8 wheels and not a fan of the fear end of the C8 as looks like a Camaro. C8 does not like a Corvette but I do like the interior of the C8 better.
i mean the problem for me is the c8 looks like a more budger ferrari or something... Looks too European.. feel like the look of the corvette has been lost .
@@scottbarker9058 You want performance but you'll take the slower car and the GTR will be more reliable!! Get a real brain and get better value! Nissans have Manufacturing plants out here in America too dumbass.
not gonna lie, this makes me lean towards the c7 more. a c8 is beautiful and defeintly breaks more necks, but the same can be achieved with a c7 if you have the right color and right exterior parts. the challenge will be to fine a very low miles one when I can afford one. hopefully in a year form now lol
To me, only thing the C8 has going for it is its 0-60 time and the shorter front end making it easier to park. Also, I still don't understand the appeal of manuals, especially in the modern era. They're slower and have a lower resale value. They also give you a chore. If you're driving fast and weaving in and out of traffic or on a track, why do you even want to worry about having to shift constantly? It's like someone saying they'd rather handwash their clothes instead of using a washing machine because it gives them more control. Guess what...your control is not better than a modern machines control.
Lol washing clothes is not a good analogy AT ALL… nobody washes clothes for fun. A manual transmission makes you more connected to the car, it’s a more satisfying feeling when you’re shifting smoothly and quickly and rev matching whenever you downshift. It’s an art that requires skill and mastering, it’s like bowling without the bumpers, flying a plane without autopilot. Yes it’s the slower transmission but it’s also the more reliable one
I like the sound of the C7 better than the C8. Both are great cars. C8 is more of a head turner than C7. Manual trans only in the C7 model. Higher performance in C8. I give the node to the C7 but that's because I'm a little bias. Can't go wrong with either one.
I have also put a flat screen tv in my C7 trunk...On road trips I can take plenty of stuff easily with no problem...that's an advantage that's important to me...
How is the idle quality of the C7’s you’ve had? I just bought a 2017 C7. It has 32,000 miles on it. Car runs well but at a stoplight the idle seems really rough to the point where the vibes are strong in the seat. Some are saying these cars have a “ big “ cam stock.
How do you like it?…Did u have ceramic brakes?…how’s the road trips with no snacks in back?…how’s the “wall”?… we have a road-tripping chihuahua…I have a carbon 65 z and saw a beautiful amplify orange HTC w/ body colored vents at the museum on Thursday and fell in love
C7 is a GT, C8 is a supercar. it's really up to taste and needs, i do not think it is actually a replacment for the C7, (like the C7 was for the C6) it is a totally different car. 2 totally different driving style experience.
So c8 is a super car because the engine is in the rear, plus it's a heavier car? Is Cayman a super car also, because its mid engine also, that includes a lotus and Alpha Romeo 4c, is a Ferrari a gt car and not a super car with a v12 with 731hp and weights the same.
