Yo man! Love the fact that you run the CA18! most get rid of them compared to a SR20. i have a ca18det s13 myself with just over 400 whp. Super happy for it. Keep up the good work man. really enjoy watching
I must have read wrong, I felt like the gearing on mine felt way too long. Especially at the track, I didn’t have enough power for the wheel speed I needed
@@NoDrama200sx mine probably would have been better but it basically wouldn’t stop over boosting last time I got it tuned, it was reaching 18psi before 6k rpm so we could never do a full pull
@@DylanBeppler maybe a boost leak or something, otherwise try an external wastegate, if ot works properly you will love it,my setup works perfect for 5 years now and its so good and reliable
Hi, thanks for still keeping the faith with ca18. Am currently working on my own. Need some help figuring out where to route the turbo coolant line from. I know the one on the block below the exhaust manifold is the turbo coolant return but am not sure about the feed. Any help will be appreciated.
There should be a metal line that travels under your intake manifold to your heater core, there should be a smaller nipple coming off of it that you should have a hose going to the back of your intake manifold off of. Then you should have another line coming from the back of your intake manifold that wraps around to feed your turbo coolant. If you check google there's a post called something like "most efficient ca18det" or something like that and the guy basically simplifies a ca18det as far as you can take it and he has all of the routes labeled.
hi, I'm looking into this engine since I have to rebuild it in the S13 I just bought, considering a swap but its way too expensive. How has your experience been with the bearing issues this engine is known for? suggestions to avoid it spinning the main bearings?
I’ve never personally had any bearing issues or known of anyone with them, the only issue I know they suffer from is oil not draining from the head back to the oil pan, and there’s known fixes for it
