Excellent video, I can't help but be amazed at the number of Trains and the maze of tracks. The signallers do a fantastic job don't they, keeping everything rolling and everyone safe. Love these vids.

I love Wimbledon’s signal box. I am getting so I recognize it every time. That and the office building over the rails.

Surprising, the amount of freight movements that go on around Clapham, Battersea area.

Reasonable video but would be nice if station names could be supplied as those who don’t live in the area could enjoy more.

Is this the 11.25 departure from Tolworth? I like the Brett trains, a nice mixture of bogie and four wheel stock and liveries. Some of the ex RMC wagons had also served Tolworth back in the 80s. They were used on the Newhaven to Tolworth service. There used to be an RMC concrete plant at Tolworth, it used the old coal discharge equipment to discharge the wagons, before it was finally demolished. The trains were quite often double headed class 73s, I have a bad photo of two 73s in Gatwick livery leaving Tolworth. Class 33s were also used in pairs. 74s had been withdrawn for a while by that time.

This was on the Saturday service...nice to hear about the history of the place.

Unlike the current method of discharging the wagons using the mainline locomotive. In the RMC days an ex BR 04 shunted the wagons. The 73s would be staged in a siding and the shunter would haul cuts of wagons over the drop pit. BR locomotives weren't allowed over the pit. There were warning signs either side to limit mainline locomotive movements. The current discharge pit is in the same location, but it's been rebuilt to accommodate mainline locomotives passing over it.

At least it looks like you got some decent speed up on this route.
