The train climbs and climbs and climbs from Rijeka until the highest point of the route, with wonderful views around. After reaching the highest point, we are on a high plateau, and stay at high altitudes until descending to Dobra Valley. A real pleasure to watch such great cab rides, uploaded in a great quality and with a lot of information about the route, thanks a lot, greetings from a traveller from Germany!

@@RailRelaxation 1918ig Budapest-Fiume vonal volt. MÁV 601sorozatú mozdonyai dolgoztak a filmen látható vonalon. Akkor Európa leg erősebb gépei voltak. Közel 3000LE malett rendszerű mozdonyok, melyeket erre a vonalra terveztek,épitettek. Külön érdekesség, hogy a Monarchia felbomlása után ezek a mozdonyok az utód államokhoz kerültek. Csak néhány darab maradt MÁV tulajdonában, de igazán nem sok hasznát vették. Mert már nem volt szükség ilyen nagy teljesitményű gépekre.Köszönet a feltöltést! Nagyon érdekes látni ezt a mérnöki munkát.
This was a spectacular cab ride🤩 Thanks to your various Ion-screen information - this was brilliant. Very impressive to see the Bura wind barriers - I was not aware of that this wind can be strong enough to hit trains. The most impressive was the climb from sea-level from mediterranean vegetation up to over 800 meters with almost alpine type of flora. I loved this trip and now will see what other interesting cab rides you have from that region. Thank you for this spectacular vid.
There is literally a constant 2,5% (1-in-40) climb from Rijeka up to 800m ASL, line was built (in a rush) in 1873 by Hungarian Railways as Port of Rijeka was biggest/only port in Hungarian part of Austro-Hungarian Empire/Kingdom (which Croatia was part of), routing has remained the same all the way, though interestingly the tunnels from Moravice to Ogulin (and Karlovac, but beyond this video) were immediately built wider for second track (which was never built). There is a plan for a "base" line for last 50 years that would keep it up to 450m ASL with some major tunnelling (10 and 15km tunnels), with EU funding and position of Rijeka port on European TEN-T corridors, it might actually get built in next 10-15 years.
What a great train ride! This was truly a ride through some wild country. I don't know when it was built but it was quite a feat of engineering. The ride along the mountain ridges was truly spectacular. Thank you for a great video of a great trip through almost a wilderness in places. A very remarkable video!
@ericthefenderfan8056 Thank you. This journey is a part of Zagreb - Rijeka line and the section to Rijeka was opened on 6 September 1873. It is a great engineering work indeed.
Im still waiting for winter rides. 😅 When I saw what line is this and when it was posted I was expecting snow kingdom of Gorski Kotar but I hope so in near future it will come. 😅 Tnx for exciting moments.

Procjena za Škrljevo-Rijeka-Jurdani je nekih 310M€ za izgradnju, u tijeku je izrada projektne dokumenacije, ovaj projekt bi trebao ići u izvedbu u EU višegodišnjem budgetu 2021-2027. Čak studijska dokumentacija izgleda dobro, nema toliko puno rušenja postojećih objekata i ugurali su taj drugi kolosijek i nova stajališta na cijelom ovom potezu. Za ostatak pruge svakim danom nizinska pruga postaje izglednija - da, trebati će 10-15 godina da se ista sagrati ali izgleda da smo uvjerili EU da se financira nizinska pruga.
@@ZvonimirZelenika Trebati će 10.15 godina za nizinsku prugu, a prošlo je već 6,5 godina, a dupli kolosjek od Dugog Sela do Križevacai nije završen, a trebalo je samo u ravnici sagraditi 36 km nove pruge !!!! Od stanica su jedino završene Vrbovec i Gradec, ostale dvije nisu, a i oko 8 km pruge nije još očišćeno za drugi kolosjek.
@@damirko8644 Nadajmo se da će DS-KŽ i "domaći konzorcij" ostati jedina takva priča, ostali projekti su recimo više-manje u okvirima i rokovima (VK-VU, KŽ-KC-Botovo, ZK-Zaprešić i Zaprešić-Zabok), nadajmo se da će i Leskovac-Karlovac krenuti kako spada kada se riješe dozvole (STRABAG je ipak sposoban izvođač). Moj prijedlog bi bio da se nova pruga (od Karlovca do Rijeke) izvdoji u posebnu firmu (kao ARZ) i fokusirano radi na cijelom projektu neovisno o ostatku HŽI, istenderira svoje izvođače i nadzor i krene pomalo graditi.
U Moravicama pokazuje gdje je *nekada* bila granica. Ako misliš na tipove stupova, na dosta kolodvora su ostali stari 3kV portali (kišobrani) samo prilagođeni za 25kV. Danas je u HR ostao 3kV samo od Šapjana do granice (prijelaz je u Šapjanama).
Kad su osamdesetih mjenjali tip elektrifikacije od Zagreba do Moravica to su uradili da se vidi da je nova kontaktna mreža za 25 kV-jedna žica za napon. Osim toga u svim su stanicama ostavili sve stupove kako je bilo za 3 kV, nema ovih velikih nosača u stanicama za 25 kV kao na ostaloj mreži. Kad su izmjenili sustav 3 kV u 25 kV od Moravica do Rijeke i dalje do Šapjana ostavili su sve kako je bilo za 3 kV, zato na tom dijelu imaš dvije žice za glavni vod. To planiraju izmjeniti s izgradnjom drugog kolosijeka na dijelu od Škrljeva preko Rijeke do Jurdana. Zato te dvije žice bune ljubitelje željeznice. Kad gledate vide koji su snimljeni danas u Češkoj i Slovačkoj onda primjećujete da je sve glavni vod jedna žica bez obzira da li je 25 kV ili 3 kV napon u glavnom vodu. Te države u sjevernom dijelu imaju elektrifikaciju od 3 kV, a u južnom dijelu elektrifikaciju od 25 kV, ali sve je jedna žica za glavni vod. Sve ostale zemlje u Europi na 3 kV i 1,5 kV imaju glavni vod od dvije žice radi potrebe većeg presjeka jer se radi o istosmjernoj struji visokih amperaža cca 3000 A.

Migrants - technically they should leave Croatia within 7 days after being registered/caught by Police as they have (most likely) arrived illegally from Bosnia and Herzegovina or Serbia. None of them request asylum in Croatia (as they want to reach other countries), or even if they do apply they mostly disappear from the system and try to cross further borders (primarily from Rijeka to Slovenia) or are now waiting for Croatia to become part of Schengen area (which should happen at January 01st, 2023) and then try to move on. Red Cross, Caritas (Catholic Church Charity), City and Railways have tried to agree to set-up a food/shelter next to the station but I don't know if it has been done.
