Video review of the Caberg Duke by Two Wheel Centre. View and buy the Duke here: bit.ly/1krJqkz
The Caberg Duke is incredibly popular: an affordable, quality flip front lid with an internal drop-down sun visor. Caberg are masters at flip front technology, and the Duke is no exception. In this video, we walk through the features of the Caberg Duke.

i have been wearing this helmet all summer. My previous helmet was a Caberg Justissimo. The Duke is also flip front, but there's one big difference. It's "Dual Homologation", which means it's perfectly legal to ride with the visor in the "UP" position. It has been designed to allow you to do this, whilst still having the same level of head protection. Of course the big danger would be that the visor might slip down while you're on the bike; to prevent this, a really clunky locking mechanism is provided. Unfortunately the catch is small and fiddly and it's very easy to lock the visor in the "UP" position whilst wearing gloves, which usually means you have to take your gloves off again, and possibly even remove the helmet again, to find and release the catch. It took me a while to get used to this feature. There's a leather panel which fits under your chin when the visor is down. It's very easy to accidentally detach this whilst putting the helmet on. This, also took a bit of getting used to. In use, the thing I most dislike is the area of vision. Your sideways vision isn't great. In fact I have occasionally found myself stopping completely at "give way" lines simply because I couldn't be sure I hadn't missed something. I'm guessing this is all to do with the design of the "Dual Homologation" thing. Of course if you're just nipping down to the shops or whatever, in town, you can just ( legally) ride with the visor UP and the all- round vision is really good. People probably assume you've just forgotten to put your visor down. Because of the side vision issue I'd urge people to wear this helmet and make sure you're comfortable with it before buying. And I definitely don't recommend this helmet for learners.. . . . www.amazon.co.uk/review/R1DALD89LI54EL/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R1DALD89LI54EL

+jacky Parker I've been wearing this helmet for around 4-5 weeks now and the side vision I find is a little tighter than normal but is no problem for me; I don't have to look around any further than normal and I don't need to stop at giveaways just to be sure, this is just my experience though. For anyone reading I am a new rider, though quite capable and safe rider age 24. One thing I will note is the wind noise can be a little loud at high speeds but a simple neck tube (at least goes up to your chin) reduces it a lot, the rest just comes through ventilation like any other helmet.

BurntFossil Thanks for that information. As for wind noise just use ear plugs which also helps to prevent loss of hearing from all the road noise etc. . . . Double Bubble screens are great if you have a bike that one can be fitted to

Great helmet, good review, cute girl. The helmet is ECE certified plus 5 star Sharp Rating. And the price is amazing. Caberg did a hell of a job with this helmet. The best Price- Value ratio.

Poor ventilation in the heat ( 30ºc+ ) and the liner takes ages to dry when sweaty but still comfortable if you can crack the visor a bit ...

i have to admire the ladys finger muscles, I wonder how long she was taking finger steroids to be able to get the liner out so quickly? . It involves a lot more grunting and swearing when i do it.

Only thing I don't like about my Caberg Duke is the excessive wind noise.

I set aside half a day to get the lining back in on this helmet after washing - That's about right ;) *heh

italian design, look good but noisy, these are best suited for riding around in high temperatures with very little rain eg italy, plus if you are on a vespa less bike noise. Perfectly designed for use in italy or a hot british summer

Erm erm erm, slow down and have your memory card with the points you want to make next to the camera. Rehearse you want to do as many dummy runs before you start recording so that you have it down in fact you want to be bored by the process Apart from that great.
