Another very informative vid. My time at MF 2010-2016 5 Pros -meet -met some really interesting passengers (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts.....) -visited many different cities around the world -proud to wear the uniform -enjoyed looking after passengers -worked alongside some really great crew Cons -poor pay -inconsistent schedules -some poor SCCM -constantly changing service routines -far too many aircraft types and variants (a 777 has nothing in common with a 787 yet both are classed as single a/c type. I respectfully have to disagree on not working at home During my time, the services routines were changing on a monthly basis. At a team meeting, my manager worked out that we were expected to know over 100 different service routines, depending on aircraft type, cabin and time of departure. And then Cruz brought in BOB. And then there were OMN’s. Maybe things changed after I retired. As for money, WW CSD’s could earn more than FA’s. CSM’s much much less now. Hope you’re enjoying your new career. Chartered or certified?

Great information for someone considering an FA career. Your information was straightforward and didn't paint a false, rosy picture. You set realistic expectations for someone to consider, and the five cons you selected were on the mark. Well played! When I was a corporate recruiter on college campuses, my interviews with graduating student would almost always include something to the manner of, "I know this role much better than you do at the moment. And you know yourself better than I know you. So let's just have an honest discussion with each other to help decide whether this role is right for you." (Unfortunate the camera continually tried to focus between you and the background outside.)

Maybe you could think about fitness or money management advice (given your accountancy interests) or continue with a travel vlog or male grooming or relaxation techniques? Or a shopping around the world vlog - advice and tips?

From ex cabin crew for ba, I think you picked the right top 5. I loved the job and left only because of family problems. Maybe that needs to be in the five cons, you're never home!

Sorry you're leaving BA Bradley, but best of luck with your accountancy! I have a few questions for you:- -What's the most hours that the flight crew can work in one day? I'm asking this cos I believe if I flight has to be disrupted, for a medical emergency for instance and land, the flight may have to be delayed overnight because the crew has ran out of hours. -As the crew get more experienced would BA over time wish for them to fly on additional aircraft types so that eventually they'd be qualified to fly on any aircraft? or are all the crew specialized in 3 or 4 aircraft types as you are? - Following on from that - are you trained in all versions of the aircraft you fly on i.e. the 777-200 AND 777-300 and the 787/8 and 9? - Are crew able to apply to change 'fleets?' You're mixed fleet, could you apply to be part of the Worldwide or Euro fleets for instance so that you could fly to different places? - Last one - you've mentioned before that you like the Vancouver route - are there any routes that you're not so keen on? Any places you don't want to fly to again or have been so often that you're done with that place?

Good to know, that pros and cons are pretty much the same, no matter what airline you work for. You can be lucky to receive your roster on the 18th for the following month. At LH we got our roster on the 27th!! I was working as a flight attendant for Lufthansa for 33 years. Now, I am 57 years old and enjoying my company´s early retirement scheme for 2 years, with another 6 years to come until my legal retirement age. I noticed a tremendous health improvement after I returned to normal life, no more fatigue, regular eating times, fresh and healthy food, all former flight attendant´s health-cons are over. Unfortunately, all pros are over, too. I am still entitled to buy unlimited ID-tickets for me and my wife, and up to 12 ID-tickets for friends per year. But now I have to pay for to see the world and I have to search for low hotel rates, like everyone else. Finally I look back with a certain melancholy and I do not want to miss anything of my former life as a flight attendant, but on the other hand, I am enjoying a healthy lifestyle now, enjoying the time with my wife and friends. And if I really want to be up in the sky again, well, I am retired now and have plenty of time to enjoy a flight as a passenger. Especially when you know what is going on `behind the curtain´.

What aircraft did you work on? If there are several, what is/was your favourite?

From my understanding there is progression in Cabin Crew? Airport Supervisory roles, Passenger service supervisory roles etc? I thought these could be follow ons. Might not be natural progression but Senior Cabin Crew with BA on your CV would surely put your foot in the door for an alternative (step up) role within BA elsewhere?

Hey mate! I am currently working for Iberia as a Cabin Crew but I recently have been admitted to attend to the BA day assessment in the Head Offices in Waterside. Is it worth it? I mean.. I am worried about the salary and how expensive is living in the UK. I don't have any relatives or friends living there so I am worried about spending all my monthly salary in my accommodation in London... But at the same time, I always wanted to fly long-haul flights and get to see other continents as for now, I am in the short-medium haul fleet flights. Thanks a lot!
