Which version of cabinet vision are you using. I’m new to this and I started with cabinet vision solid essential. But there’s thing I can’t do. I can’t even figure out how to add crown molding. Or how to do a custom hood. Or island.
I greatly appreciate these videos. I have been going in to my new job for about an hour after my shift to attempt to learn a bit. Right now I'm still in the "this is so confusing, I wish I could make them get Mozaik" stage, but I'm sure I'll pick it up with more use. Any in depth videos you would like to make on the connections/assembly in cabinet vision vs the parameters in Mozaik would help quite a bit, as I think that's the biggest difference that is going to trip people up. Like you said, you had trouble wrapping your head around the parameters in Mozaik, but I'm having the opposite problem going to cabinet vision. One of the biggest things in Mozaik is their multi-print, with "live" views that auto update as changes are made to the cabinets which I use for our shop drawings. Is there something available in CabinetVision for that purpose?
I can certainly understand the thought of just wanting to do things in Mozaik at first. I know exactly how that feels. But if you stick with it, you will find yourself thinking that less and less. It just takes some time to uncover the features and learn how to make use of them. Cabinet Vision does have "live drawings" as well for all their views. Except for the rendered 3D views obviously. All you have to do is right click on any view you are in and click "to live drawing". It can be kind of frustrating and confusing to get your drawings setup because it is a combination of layers, scene templates, and title blocks, but after you get past the initial setup, its a breeze.
I'm still trying to decide how in-depth I am going to go with my videos on my channel. I have rolled around the option of making a full Cabinet Vision course but I'm not sure if people would find that useful or not, plus it would obviously take a considerable amount of time. :)
Cabinet Vision Live Drawings have been almost unusable for the last 5 versions. We've recently made the switch after 10's of thousands of dollars invested in CV to switch to mozaik. The price gouging from CV is getting insane. The new versions come with more errors than the old ones.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but I am definitely a newbie. I bought a shop from an old timer with some old Cabinet Ware software for drawing, then take those drawings to Router CAD in the AI center then export to the AutoCabinet. From there I put them on a thumb drive and out to the router. My question is do either of these code the parts for the router? I have no idea if that makes sense. I wish I knew more. My Routercad crashed and I'm scrambling.
@@myronwittmer Thanks for the quick reply. Next question, I use the Zargen/KISS2 system. Is there any special set up for that? Again, it is all I know. I wanted to migrate to other systems when I got my feet wet, but I've barely put my toe in and the software crashed. Thanks for the videos. Very informative. I wish I had someone like you close to me.
I have it on my to do list to research cabsens. So hopefully in the near future I can do a review on it. I am familiar with CabinetPro. So if I had a license for it, I could very quickly make a video on it.
@@myronwittmer thank you ... unfortunately RU-vid lacks these tutorial about cabinet making maybe your channel can be a reference for all user looking ro learn more about cabinet software ...
Yeah, that’s a big reason why I started this channel, I couldn’t find many resources at all on the cabinet making software topic. So hopefully I can fill that gap.
Gotcha, yes I was talking about Cabinet Vision. My layer is called “Shop”. You can see it in certain places on the video. There’s an edit button right beside the word “Shop”. Editing the layers allows you to changed just about every visual part of the way things look in CV. This can be colors or line thicknesses of each part type. Very useful, but it can be time consuming to setup because there are separate settings for every view.
