A vacation beyond our expectations!
January weather is typically in the 70*-80* F, 40% humidity, wind can play a factor, and the marine world sheds more plankton during this time - hence the green tinted water ~ a humpback whale's food source. The water was at it's cooler time of year, around 65*-70*F - We loved it as I currently type this with snow covering our property in Montana.
*Special note: Floaty type devices or tethered attachments for video cameras are very valuable! Haha! Our first day I lost our brand new GoPro while we snorkeled around the rocks of Los Frailes Beach. A great non-guided beach snorkel location!
Seven days of pure relaxation! We enjoyed peaceful walks along the beach, exploring tide pools, snorkeling, scuba, and fantastic food. Oh, we very much enjoyed our hammocks!
Restaurant El Caballero was our favorite! Thanks to a super host, Maribel and their fantastic food! My favorite was the Pescado del día (Fish of the day) and my wife's was the Chef's Specialty (An incredible shrimp dish!) The flavor of the fruit at breakfast was amazing!
There are a few other restaurants such as The Coral Reef and La Palapa - all served great food though El Caballero fit our comforts perfectly!
I gained my PADI Open Water certificate, care of PADI E-Learning (pre vacation) and Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort's Dive Instructor, Alex. A heck of a great Instructor! Gato is a pretty laid back cool cat and great boat captain for both scuba and snorkel trips! Nallely guided our snorkel adventure that we very much enjoyed. Every portion of our guided trips were well planned/scheduled by Norma within the administration of Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort. Great group of people supported by various others from boat launching to gear prep!
One portion to add - Initially we routed via our car rental from the airport to Cabo San Lucas Costco. We ended up giving the majority of our Costco purchased food to Cabo Pulmo residents. We found the comfort and pricing for the restaurants in Cabo Pulmo well worth the value and the relaxation! Example 310 pesos was the most expensive priced fantastic seafood dinner on the menus - approximately $16 USD! Easily $40+ USD plates! And breakfasts... 100 pesos approximately $5 USD!
Also to note: While we enjoyed our walks within the Cabo Pulmo community, not a single push by anyone to sell items! A simple friendly "Hola" or wave as we passed residents of this fantastic little town!
We can not say with enough impression how our vacation was so incredibly peaceful and relaxing!
This video was produced via our phones, an early model GoPro, and our DJI Mavic drone and edited via Shotcut, a free video editing program.
