I don't even have a driving license let alone know how to fix stuff but I always watch your videos from start to finish. You have a great way in front of camera.
Mount the O2 sensors in a tin can. The air in there is super clean. I believe that'll work versus having them disconnected. Hopefully you have the pre-cat oxygen sensors installed for fuel mixture.
I have considered making a ramp truck/hauler out of one of those before. Iv worked on a good number of them as small box trucks. Most of them iv messed with had little underpowered 4cyl diesels in them
Looks awesome! When you you started shrinking the one wire and didn’t put your shrink wrap on I was yelling at the TV. I’ve done that same thing sooo many times lol.
Awesome truck with that v8 in it in would like one to replace my hilux 4x4 it’s v8 as well I’ve owned to for 24 years now to engine rebuilds real work horse Great job always wiring with them fuel pump problem Is that a high lift forklift awesome thing seen one going back a bit great thing Best of a truck 👍💯
Nice job you did on the truck. I’ve enjoyed all the jolly green videos too. I grew up right down the road from the old time power show/museum and my great uncle showed his oxen there for years. My family business is still right there on route 9, you sound like you’re not too far away. 👍🏻
Don't know if it was mentioned but the reason the old pump died is no sock on the bottom and it sucked up sediment, rust and dirt from the bottom of the tank. Swirl pot area should ALWAYS have the sock in place. That wiring is definitely something that could cause headaches too. Use some non insulated butt splices and heat shrink over the top of the joints. You'll never have to worry about the wiring again. Stay humble bro, I love your channel. 👍👍
In order to get your mice in jolly green take a five gallon bucket and mice catcher with lots of peanut butter on the flap and make sure it's filled with windshield washer ,the blue one ...it will kill them instantly as fall in bucket and keep the smell if Thier body's rotting too .
Man you should really have a guard on a grinder especially with a cutting wheel I understand it makes it easier to see what you’re doing I do the same thing
Looks like you could be a premium pine shavings sponsorship coming your way, loll nice 👍🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍lol kool BigAl California.tractor supply company oh yeahhhhhhhh, good job, thanks BigAl
Cheers for an update video bro, never had the 350 Isuzu small trucks here in NZ which is a shame as they would have gone well here with all the hills some roads are built on. Safe travels up your way.
Good video again good see you again keep making videos please Keep making good good videos my friend you would read my mind I was going to ask you in a comment when are going to get back to Freightliner be safe my friend
The only reason I can see for two OEM pumps to fail is if you run the truck on low fuel in the tank, remember that the fuel keeps the pump cool. Try not less than a quarter tank.
The pump sits inside of the cup that fills with the returned fuel, running below 1/4 tank wont hurt it but running completely out of fuel will. The problem was all the contaminates in the tank and the old pump was a delphi pump(rebranded by GM) which has the sock inside the bowl and this design is not meant to have contaminants inside the bowl. The GM/Delphi pump is a far superior design over the traditional sock on the outside, but a deign will only go so far in a tank filled with trash, it's only a matter of time before the new sock plugs up and burns out the new pump.
Happy to see a new video, I barely recognize the truck with the flatbed on it, awesome to hear it running again. Have been wondering what happened to camper build for the S10
Ok tried that b12 chemtool in the gas tank. So far I’m gonna say good results cleaning some tank skuz line funk and injector Skyme. Had seen on Vice Grip Garage. Might help your project. Like all your videos. Good closeups when doing the intricate parts. Thumbs up
I changed the fuel pump about 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure it needs a new fuel pressure regulator now. I have to start it with ether but it runs great.
"Our OTHER cabover" That's a cute little truck, never realized they came with small block Chevies. I think I've only seen diesel powered ones. As I watched I said, "you forgot the heatshrink". Oh well, been there done that... I had to google that Hudson Valley Old Time Power...never heard of it...I might have to check it out sometime as it's not far from me either...
Oh I see now , that’s why it looked taller, it’s spring loaded, da, I should of known that, nice, what engine is in it big block, or something else, nice , thanks BigAl.
The only other problem that the fuel system can have on the 350 vortec motors is that the injection spider in the intake can get wore out and gm came out with a new design I had a hard start issues on my 99 Tahoe with the same motor and that was what worked for me
the very first video i saw of yours was of this truck. sure have missed seeing your videos. hope you and yours are doing well. baffles are not needed because the fuel pump assembly has one built in. driver side window letting all the crud come in and accumulate on the head liner? or was it a leak from the light mounted on the roof letting it mold? she sure looked happy to get that metal for a barn. nice score. did you get rid of the duramax?
Well long time man just say happy holidays to and how’s the weather their our is get in the middle 20 and the snow storm is west of us so it is a miss !!! 😀
There is old pick up replacement filler tubes at the local parts houses, I love this ramp truck wrecker, nice what is the hauling capacity??!! Nice , how’s is jolly green giant, nice work, thanks BigAl California.
I enjoy your videos. Have you considered replacing the fuel lines to and from pump? Twenty years puts the fuel line near or at end of life. On my truck I was having trouble starting and it ended up being the old fuel lines sucking air, even though they were not leaking, causing engine to loose prime.
Hey Mike buddy how's it going. This was a great video you put together. I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. I hope you enjoy this special holiday. Thank you so much about the information on the Crocs man. I was able to find a pair in a XXXL sz15 with my foot barely fit in it. It was crushing & hurting my toes. I had to cut a section out in the toe box of each crocs so two of my toes can hang out because my toes are 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. It's a big wide foot man. My foot outgrew shoes & socks 30 years ago & flip flops is the only footwear that will fit on my foot. But since I broke both of my feet beginning of last year from a truck 🚛 accident I was involved in wearing flip-flops in 30 degree temperatures in the winter time is getting brutal. These Crocs should really help keep my toes warm since I cannot get socks to fit on my foot. It is always awesome to see you wearing your Crocs in your videos buddy. It is awesome to see that you are a Croc fan & thank you so much for wearing them in your video. Again Merry Christmas to you and your family. PS. Did you get a new pair of Crocs for Christmas?
I have a 96 Chevy 4x4 I’ve put several fuel pumps in myself But the last one I forgot to put the strainer filter on the bottom of the pump and I haven’t had any trouble since It’s got a filter on the inside of the frame I’m thinking maybe to much restriction
From watching the video, it appears that the crud on the ceiling of the cab was from the roof vent being open and letting the weather blow into the truck as it sat parked up for a long time.
the reason i always found that the pumps keep going is that the fuel pressure regulator under the upper intake on the engine is no good and leaking or the entire injector assemble is no good.
So what did you sell ? The green cabover gets done when it gets done ! That Isuzu ain’t a bad looking and running truck ! I’d like one but ain’t got much use for it ! QUESTION -> I’ve notice over the years of travel in the NE part of the country those stone walls everywhere along the roads , how old are they , are they from the 1700’s ?
Since it has a Chevy motor then its isuzu cabover. I know i drove several UD with nissan strait 6's in them and i will say one bad thing about them. Do not put more weight on the bed than it says to. They do t stop worth a damn . They will haul more than the bed says but they dont stop worth a dang
You’ve gotta hotrod that thing some how. Still trips me out that they came with a gas V8 in the USA. Underpowered shit diesels everywhere else in the world.
