I like how they didn't even mention that the pride flag was blocking a Cuban flag. Having a different personality or gender does not give you permission to think your better than everyone its disrespectful for the Cuban people to see their flag blocked by a flag that reperents personality and not even a country. Mad respect for this kid.
@@Xenophon1 is don't matter because cover up a flag is disrespectful and that girl doesn't care because she choose to be racist towards to Cuban and yes I am glad that teen cut the flag off
@@jib21812 that is a great spot and they will learn their listen because cover the Cuban flag is very disrespectful and I want them to know Cuba is not there country beside there country is the United states that it
A gay flag doesn’t protect the people it represents; it’s just a symbol. Also it’s more disrespectful to put the gay flag over the flag of an actual country.
@@t-ape5860 American leftists care about no one but their own narcissistic identities. They have disrespect for every country in the world, even their own country (the USA).
"People like to belittle the LGBTQ community" You give respect if you want respect. Covering up a country's flag with a flag that doesn't represent one doesn't count.
@@poll8934 Im lgbt+ but i hate the community so much! Especially the people who make their gender or sexuality their whole gosh darn personality! I legit can’t stand the communities behaviour and usually just avoid it like the plague.
@@dezzyly I am completely ok with people deciding that they want to be identified as whatever they want. I support that, do what you want with yourself, but then there are the others who do things like this and give the whole community a bad reputation.
*NO RESPECT.YES YOU ARE A HOMOPHOBIC PERSON. NO AMOUNT OF SUGARCOATING WILL PLACATE THE PAIN AND SUFFERING YOU ARE INFLICTING ON THE LGBT COMMUNITY. IT'S THE 21ST CENTURY. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU CONTINUE THIS BEHAVIOR. WHY MUST YOU BE A SCROOGE OR EVEN A GRINCH LIKE HIM?*
@@morganc.m1830if so why does it has to be all over the Cuban’s flag? can’t it be hanging somewhere else, and if that’s an event about countries then does LGBTQ flag mean anything in that though
Fact Check: False The student(s) who remove this flag were not being disrespectful. The act of disrespect was by the individual(s) who put up the LGBT flag as a sign of disrespect towards the people of Cuba and their culture.
Im Cuban and it was really disrespectful to see our flag cover by another by the pride flag and I’m thankful with that kid for taking it down and showing real respect 🫡 because no flag of any country should be cover like that so thank you
Imagine thinking that putting a flag that represents an alternative lifestyle over a flag that represents an actual country and it's people wasn't disrespectful to begin with...
Imagine thinking a flag that represents your preference in your bedroom is more important that the flag that represents a nation and its people. Such bullshit. From Vietnam with a mad respect to my Cuban brother and the boy who took that flag down.
the bedroom? do straight people spend all their time there? why do you have to make it sexual? by having the flag up the school is saying that lgbtq people are accepted which is important because the suicide rate is very high for people who are lgbtq. it didn't deserve to be put in front of another countries flag obviously but you just sound ignorant along with everyone else here.
The girl: I don’t feel included seeing only an American flag flying! Where is my pride flag! Cuban American students (having their flag covered by her flag): Am I a joke to you!?!?!
I'm American and I'm not Cuban, I'm supposed to hate Cuba. I respect that soldier, He took the responsibility to go against the oppressive majority and do what was right. That man released a NATIONAL FLAG of ANOTHER COUNTRY and it is ILLEGAL to cover or deface any national flag UNDER US LAW. That man deserves a trophy
Girl: *feels safe when she sees a pride flag of all things* Me: "I feel safe when I see security cameras. That pride flag ain't keeping you safe." Mad respect for that kid.
I agree with all the comments and respect for that kid but seeing the pride flag shows that if ur part of the community you won't be hate crimes there and don't have to hide ur identity
I'm against homophobia but I agree with you. If they're gonna display a pride flag, I have no problem with that. Heck, I would do that myself but never would I cover up a country's flag like that. It's seen as disrespectful.
Not everything has to be about the LGBTQ community There are people in this world who are suffering more than them and we need to give them support also it’s just really rude that they’re covering up the flag of Cuba
The fact that they felt the need to cover the Cuban flag, when there could very well be just as many Cubans in that school as are LGBT, is horrific discrimination.
as someone who is pansexual, it’s hella disrespectful to cover up the flag of another nation. If you wanna display the pride flag, put it up somewhere where it won’t cover another national flag
@Alfredo Barragan Oops my dude, my bad. It's not like some small youtuber journalists just got shot to death for basically talking about them in her videos or they had documented about journalists going missing or having their limbs fucking cut off
"People like to belittle the LGBTQ community" LGBTQ community likes to belittle everyone else...lesson learned dont put a flag that has nothing to do with culture over flags that have to do with culture? Yes it's a country flag but in way u can consider a countries flag to a part of their culture. Idk if it was a student or faculty that put this up OVER the cuban flag but they need to be evaluated not the kid that took it down. Funny how no one sees an issue with that. Further proving that we arent always the instigators
"removal of pride flag is disrespectful" Based on the video, did the school saying pride flag is much valuable than other's COUNTRY FLAG. A school?!?! WOW
"As someone that went to high school here, i thought it was important to come out and show that you can be whoever you wanna be, and stay in the valley, and grow up and have a happy life here." Except for Cubans, of course
Yes. You can definitlly be whoever you want to be. Now I’m a rejected Austrian painter who writes powerful speeches and has a slight prejudice against those of the Jewish culture

I believe that if the pride flag is allowed to fly to make people of the lgbt community safe then the Cuban flag should be allowed to as well because it allows Cuban kids to feel welcomed
This happened at my high school after I graduated. I personally know the kid who cut the flag down. The Sheriff's Office had to watch his home for a few days because both him and his family were receiving so many death threats. It was wild.
How tf you gonna say “for diversity week” but put your flag right over another country’s flag it makes no sense. If anything just put it up in a different part of where the flags are
They’re saying its so disrespectful that they removed the pride flag WHEN THEY WERE COVERING THE CUBAN FLAG. Respect to the kid taking the flag down 📈📈📈
@@thebluepineapple684 Yes they are a community, but the school was having some kind of international countries day of some other name. The rainbow lgbtq flag is not a flag of a country it is not a nation so they had no right to cover an actual country's flag.
@@Indigo-ke5dq They were having diversity week, and what says diversity more than the pride flag, y'know, a literal spectrum of colors? Edit: No, it wasn't right for them to cover up the Cuban flag, but he could have just asked the school to do it. Also, it's not our fault they did this.
Our Highschool had a uh had a pride flag and they always stored it in the gyms storage room, what I did was take the flag out throw it out the window, and after I took it and ran to the edge of the highschools fence and through it over.
Wait? They put the rainbow flag in front of the Cuban flag? And the parents still hurt by the rainbow flag being taken down? I'm not a Cuban, but I felt sorry for the Cuban people who got their flag covered by the rainbow flag. Because the same thing happened to my country's flag.
