Awesome long collection tour, Lyn 😃 Always enjoy seeing your entire collection of plants. I’ll have to start bringing some of mine in from the greenhouse tomorrow, especially the Euphorbia as the temperatures will start going below 10c in the next couple of nights. Thank you for sharing with us as always, Lyn. Have a wonderful evening and new week from Edith & myself to you and Hans ❤️🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜

Thanks a million for watching the very long tour video Daz :-D it was a very long one haha and I hope you made yourself a strong cup of coffee haha :-D it was a cold one here last night too and I think its definitely that time of year that we need to think about bringing in the plants that are not so cold hardy, I used to wish I lived in a hot sunny country where I didn't have to worry about moving plants in and out for Spring and Winter, but after this years Heatwaves I am happy to stay in chilly Ireland haha, thanks so much Daz for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a fantastic evening XXXX

Wow!!! That was a great tour Lyn!!! Yes its getting time to shut off the tap!! It's still pretty warm here but now going down into the high ° 40sF at night this week. Have a few more plants & trees to get into the greenhouse. The greenhouse is staying real warm. The vent fan is still going. It turns on at 90°F glad to see the little lophophora survived!! And the Euphorbia stellaspinas look fantastic!!! Really enjoyed the tour!! Glad to see these wonderful plants!!! Took in our generator to be repaired last week at a farm & home store. We have two of them in case of power loss during the winter storms. But what did I find when I got there?! A nice little selection of cacti!! Bought a beautiful mammillaria elongata " gold star" and went to pick up the generator today and bought a little lobivia!! Not sure of the species. Small dark clustering heads. I put the gold star in a beautiful container I found at a flea market this weekend. Asian porcelain bowl I put a drainage hole in. I will have to show it in a short!! Thanks again for the wonderful tour!!! From Morris Park, to across the emerald isle, have a wonderful week ahead!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🌷🌳🌻🌴🌿🏵🌲😃👍

I watched the whole video yesterday Lyn, trying to catch up on everyone's videos 🤯 lovely tour and when you mentioned about all those tall columnar cactus in your white smaller polytunnel having not flowered as usual that is a bit strange, but at least you saw some good growth, looking very much forward to tour of inside your house 😁😁😁

Thanks a million Claire for watching this very long video haha, it was a very long one and I was going to film it in two parts but ended up filming it as one long vid, I was so surprised that the tall cacti didn't flower this year especially as they got so much sun and heat this year with the heatwaves, they just kept growing taller, I think they must have been missing Irelands usually wet Summer haha, thanks so much Claire for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comments and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Irish Sea XXXX

Hi Lyn😊🙌I think your Mammillarias bend over to read what their friend's name is on the label😁👌I enjoyed watching🤲✨You have an awesome Gymnocalycium and Mammillaria collection there and hopefully your Ferocactus bloom when they get bigger, my Ferocacti are also small and need a few more years, but it's my joy to grow cacti from a small plant. Your Espostoa is amazing🥰And Notocactus Magnificus are among my favourites🙏

The plant at 23:30, Cryptocereus anthonyanus is now categorised as Selenicereus anthonyanus. So it's in the same genus as the plant at 22:00 ...which comes as no surprise that the species of which is unknown to you as they have been extensively hybridized for a very long time and even a guess based purely on appearance may be wrong. Looks like grandiflorus or spinulosus, but who really knows?

Thank you for the tour. I think it's amazing that you have plants that are over 50 years old. How do you water the cactus at 7:38? It's so big you can't even see the soil.
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon Год назад
So happy you loved the tour Diego :-D haha yes the cactus at 7:38 is a challenge to water and I was hoping to repot it into a bigger pot this Summer but will wait until next Spring now, I have to use a very thin nozzle attachment to my plant watering bottle to reach right down the sides of the pot but its very tight haha, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Thursday XXXX

Hi Lynn from Alberta, just wondering about my monkey tail single stem 10 inch tall has been outside all summer, now on south window sill when do i stop water ? and if i put under grow lights will it not go dormat and keep growing?? Thanks lots of love Duncan
@desertplantsofavalon
@desertplantsofavalon Год назад
Hi Duncan :-D thats wonderful you have your Monkey tail in a south windowsill, thats a perfect position for it :-D I would stop watering now but because you are overwintering your Monkey tail indoors I would still give a light water once every 6 weeks over the Winter, this is because the Monkeys tail can sometimes get tip dieback if kept too dry over the winter if overwintered indoors, the good news is with growlights as long as you dont have the lights on for longer than the natural daylength hours outside your Monkey tail should still go dormant, and you may not need to use the grow light over the Winter if you have your Monkey tail in the south facing window as they dont need as much light over the winter rest period, thanks so much Duncan for your awesome comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
