Very good shots you made there. That lizard skin is definitely something... weird! 😁 What a coincidence you chose this cactus for me to narrate. I attended a Cactus and Succulent Society meeting that talked all about Copiapoa as they went on a trip to the Atacama desert. It really intrigued me. 👍🏼🙂🌵

Thank you so much Ana, the lizard skin is very strange looking indeed haha. Going to the Atacama desert is on mine and Edith’s bucket list, we would love to go there to see the Copiapoa in habitat. Thank you once again for narrating the video Ana and for doing such a professional job, it’s been a pleasure 😊 From Edith & I to you, have a fantastic day and new week 🌵☀️🌼🌸☕️

Oh! You have to be prepared if you go to Atacama. They said some places are so remote, no nearby stores. You have to carry your own water to drink and to clean yourself. set camp on rocky mountains, but the 100 years old large Copiapoa clumps that they saw there is truly a cactus lover’s dream. 😃

Haha definitely we need to be prepared. I did read that some of the large Copiapoa clumps there could even be thousands of years old. Someone said once they grow slower than stones 😂 Would be amazing to go there though 😊

Hi Daz, what a great collaboration 👏 between your wonderful videos and narration by Ana/Cactus Caffeine. Thank you for educating us this cacti is endangered . I hope the video gets recognized and the conservation status on the species to be unlisted as endangered. 👏👏👏💚🌵

Thank you J M, so happy you enjoyed this collaboration video 😊 Most cacti are endangered or vulnerable in habitat, Copiapoa especially, mainly due to habitat loss and poaching. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍🏻🌵☀️

Yes , mine were about 80 dollars a piece, but when they put out fruit I harvested seeds and now have over 80 seedlings! Same seeds that I sent Lyn & Hans that they have growing now. Yes the ariocarpus are among my most favorite. Hey ! Edith seems to be able to get great plants, tell her to hunt one down for you! From Morris park in the Ozarks have a great day!!!!
@Cactimania

Haha yeah Edith just said we do have one, but it’s the Ariocarpus fissuratus cv. ‘Godzilla’, I totally forgot that one was a fissuratus hybrid. We will get a regular fissuratus eventually though 😊

Thank you Mr. Kirkstone! I know this one is one of your favourites also, really is a fantastic plant, as all Copiapoa are. They became one of my favourites very quickly and there’s quite a few others I’m wanting, but that’ll have to wait until spring. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend 👍🏻🌵☀️

Thumbs up for a great collaboration, Daz and Ana! 👍👍 Daz, you had amazing shots of the Lizard Skin and Ana, such a lovely soothing voice. I love listening to both you and Carl talking. 😍😍 Daz, I only have one that's about 2yrs with 2 pups growing from the sides. Now I understand why its shape isn't round but has become elongated. It's reaching for the sun LOL 🤣🤣. This is what I've learned from both of you. So I'm going to gradually train it for full sun exposure. Great video and collaboration guys! 👍👍👏👏

Thank you so much Molly. The lizard skin has an amazing looking epidermis, a great one to have in the collection. Is my voice not soothing too? 😂 You definitely want to introduce this plant to more light, it’ll do much better and take on some great colours also. Great to know these videos can be informative and helpful to people too, that makes me happy 😊 Thank you as always for watching and commenting Molly, have a fantastic week 🌵☀️🌸🌼

Hi Daz Ana! Fantastic colab! You narrated the content brilliantly Ana, and so well paced. Interesting information on these guys too. Daz, those images, I tell you, so proud. The shot at 1.36 almost made the cactus look diamond encrusted. I kid you not, I wanted to go out into the garden and take a closer look at the copiapoa to see if the ones in the collection have the same detail too. In fact all the shots showcased the beauty of epidermis ( I wonder if that's the right word) so well, making us fall in love a second time with the copiapoa having re-discovered thier beauty from a different angle. Thank you guys for working together on this beautiful and informative showcase. From the garden city of India to you, Ana and Edith, have a fantastic day! Cheers and God bless.

Thank you so much Carl. Ana did an awesome job with the narration, as you did on yours also 😊 I have enjoyed working with you both on these spotlight/narration videos. Epidermis is the correct word yes 😊 and these plants look amazing up close, especially the lizard skin, very strange looking. Now you can see why Copiapoa is one of my favourites. Thank you as always my friend for watching and commenting and your amazing support, from Edith & I to you, have a fantastic evening. Cheers and God bless 🌵☀️🌸🌼

I’ve begun my copiapoa collection and I got hypogea and humilis what care advice is there for watering techniques how do you know it’s time to water how do you avoid over watering
@Cactimania
@Cactimania Год назад
With Copiapoa less is always best as many of them are prone to rot from overwatering. It’s good to have them planted in a very gritty mix with not too much organic material. During the growing season I water my Copiapoa once every couple of weeks, making sure the mix completely dries out before watering again, and keep them completely dry during the winter. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵🌼☀️🌺🏜
