Thanks for the vid. Is there a easy way to convert that lion mesh into polysurface , understand that mesh is not as ideal a format for mass production?
you can use ink to get your finger print first, scan the image and save in jepg. then use the Trace app from www.food4rhino.com to trace the image into Rhino
Hi PJ, I 'm really got stuck at the 5:34 when trying to trim using polar tray and the bottom surface to trim the top and the bottom parts , it always turned out not the way it supposed to be, would you please to going a little bit slower so I can see what's I am missing thanks
Hi Anhtuan, if it is hard to view which one is which to trim correctly. you can change one of the object in different color or change it to wire frame mode. it will be easier to see 2 different parts.
thanks PJ, I have found that moment when you do gumball on the circle , I didn't see you mention that we need to move inward on both 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock points in order to proceed surface extrude then we can trim it correctly, now I can move further . Thanks again

@@PJChenJewelryDesign I mean in real production, not 3D printing. I design bottles for a liqor company, recently I come up with some idea to combine shapes like sculpture with bottle design. But sculpts like a human face or lion face are quit diffcult to model using nurbs.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign yeah, I do sculpt in blender though. However, the scuplt mesh model will be merged with the solid I created in solidworks or rhino. My solution now is to simplify and make quad mesh in blender or Zbrush then bring them into rhino then turn the quad mesh into SubD which is still WIP and convert to nurbs. Sometimes this method just loses too much detail . My point is, , are STL or mesh files be accepted by the mold manufactor?
