Don, what a superb float tube!! It has everything a float tube fisherman could want! I just love the close up water-level views of your fighting bass on this warm November day! And what a beautiful representative crappie that was!! WOW!! Thanks for taking us along to enjoy your new Caddis float tube, and your exciting angling adventure! Great fun! All the best to you, Brenda and sister, Lorraine! -- John & Jeanne
Thanks, John. You'll see that big crappie (and his buddies) in the next video. Well, we said so long warm weather, but that's the way it goes. Water temp in Lake E was 50 yesterday! The Pro 2000 tube is very good for an inexpensive fishing platform. I like the double pontoon style with the cargo area and it will be a nice, lightweight tube to use on a lot of the waters I fish. Happy Thanksgiving from our ramshackle residence to yours! :) Hi to Jeanne, too! Don & Brenda
Great looking tube Don! I have fished an older version for a while and can say that caddis produces a quality product! Take care and hope you and your family have a great thanksgiving!
Thanks, Eric. This is a good tube and actually seems as light as the Nevada U-boat style one that I used a lot last year. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. Don
Hi Don. Love your videos and have learned so much watching them. I am thinking about getting into float tubing. What type of fins do you use or would you recommend? Thanks so much.
David, sorry for the late reply but I didn't get notified of a comment on this video. I'd recommend the Caddis float tube flippers. They are sold in a lot of sporting goods stores and also on Amazon for about $30.
Thanks, Bo. I like to do these kinds of reviews because there's normally not a lot of them for fellow float tubers to take a peek at the product. Hope all's well and you all had a great Thanksgiving. Don
Thanks. Doing pretty good here. Nice Thanksgiving. Our daughter got married a couple of weeks ago also. She's living down in Key West where its all warm. This is our first Thanksgiving since Emma passed. Miss sharing all my food with my lil dog. Hard to believe she's been gone 3 months now. Well y'all take care and tight lines to you! ~ Bo
Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated. The Pro 2000 is no longer made by Caddis. I didn't purchase the new pro 3000 when my 2000 finally fell apart. I can't comment on saltwater tubes because I'm in Missouri, all fresh water. Surely there are other channels who fish salt water you might ask. Best wishes, Don
Leonard, thanks for asking two good questions. Yes, there are times when I will fish from the bank, in a pontoon (I have 2 of them), or with a friend in a boat. Concerning snapping turtles, I've encountered them in the past but they've not been aggressive or attacked me. If I'm not familiar with the turtle population where I'm fishing I'll always wear waders for additional safety. Thanks for watching the show!
Thanks a d glad you enjoyed the review. I still use this float tube a lot because it is light enough to carry to hike in places. The only modification I made was to put more (2" or so) styrofoam in the seat back to make it stiffer so it would help me sit more straight up (back surgery issue). The fish finder is a Humminbird 197c but I believe that model has been replaced by the Piranhamax 4 unit...also very inexpensive. However, the key thing is the FishFinder Mounts.com mounting system with the sealed, rechargeable battery, mounting plate and transducer mount all on a single strap. With this mounting system, you can use ANY major brand of fish finder you like. Check out fishfindermounts.com and see the systems. All the best, Don
Yes of course, otherwise there's no way to propel yourself in the water. Caddis Ultralight Backpack flippers work really well. I still use this same exact float tube and it is still going strong. Thanks for commenting, Don
Thanks, Gman, appreciate your watching the show. Float tube technology has advanced by light years since I started fishing in them back in the 80s. Happy Thanksgiving. Don
great video. I was considering upgrading to this one as well. I would love to Greece more storage and the Boston valves. might have to see if I can get one under the tree... I was thinking of new Wadders too... I love float tube fishing this time if year! happy Thanksgiving to your family. Don. -JaimeAstin
Thanks, Jaime, and glad you enjoyed the show. This tube is quickly becoming my favorite small tube because it has the cargo area that the Nevada is missing. The side pockets are a bit smaller than the Nevada but overall it is performing well. It will be fun to see what the fish will do now that the water temps are plunging...the ice can stay away though (ha). Happy Thanksgiving out there in CA. Don
