Thank you for making the video. I'm gonna pull the trigger this year. Looks to easy and fun!

Great video Don! I agree with your review 100%. I have been in mine all weekend and labor day, I was out there for hours morning ans evening. It was comfortable and so stealthy. I had huge bass swimming around me and coming up to inspect me. I use a baseball bag to keep all of my gear in together and I can fit it all in my SUV or my tiny Miata. This tube is a great value. I took Jacqueline fishing labor day and age was in her kayak... Now she wants a float tube. I was so comfortable. Ps, he crusteaz baits are amazing.... The megastrike is awesome. I have nit had the chance to test the megabug as much, I missed a huge strike on one. You are a great fisherman, exceptional videographer, and awesome friend. Take care! -JaimeAstin

+JaimeAstin Jaime, to say thank you for your kind comments is quite the understatement! It was indeed amazing that we both got these Nevadas at virtually the same time. When I got the Caddis Wyoming a few years ago I went to Academy Sports and purchased a Caddis carry bag for it. The bag is like a big mesh gym bag and you can put the tube, flippers, pump and all sorts of junk in it and carry it over your shoulder to wherever you are going or put it in the back of a compact car. I think you'll like two upcoming fishing videos of myself and my sister Lorraine as we threw our Caddis tubes and gear in the back of her Prius with plenty of room to spare. A few clips appeared in this vid. I'd say if Jacqueline is curious about a float tube have her paddle around in yours. It takes a while to learn how to paddle slowly and smoothly without overpowering and tiring your legs out, but then again you can concentrate on fishing and not worry about your yak paddle all the time. A kayak is probably preferable in colder water but I've got insulated waders and sometimes fish a tube even when the water is quite cold. All the little lures you mentioned (Crusteaz, Mega Bugs) are really good and can sure give you confidence that you might catch a fish on every cast. My next lure "try out" with be with the new Z-Man 4" tubes; I got some today at Bass Pro. As the water starts cooling I'll be using a power+finesse strategy with both big and little stuff and let the fish tell me what they want. Hi to Jacqueline and best wishes. Your friend, Don

I use to watch your videos all the time, you actually were the reason I started making videos on my old channel, TKelJay. It is amazing to see you're still creating quality, entertaining videos!! Well done in all the work you've put into these videos! Watching these still going makes me think I may take another shot at fishing videos on RU-vid. ; ) have a blessed day!

+Trevor K. Fishing Trevor, I see you re-established your channel on 9-11 and wanted to thank you for your kind comments. I enjoy the avocation (hobby) of making video stories for family and friends but will confess that it takes a considerable amount of time and skill to make even amateur videos. Best of luck if you choose to enter that arena. Don

Ive had the same float tube for 16 years now! Been all over british columbia down rapids and at least 30 different lakes! Best float tube ever! Totally recommend

Thanks DJ for the nice comments. The Nevada has been a reliable, well built tube that still works great for hike-in fishing trips where less weight is advantageous. I've not used it in moving water but glad you enjoyed your adventures. All the best, Don

Hey, Don, are you fishing today with your new tube? Great video and seeing that huge dam we walked up, made me happy we both had lightweight tubes! Wonderful fishing and all you need to catch those big bass. :-))))
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 9 лет назад
+ljdjjeffc Hey Sis, as a matter of fact, yes I was! I took a little hike (ha) to that crappie lake we walked to a year or so ago. It was basically unfishable around the perimeter due to lily pads but that nice bass you saw in the photo I sent was along the dam. Glad you liked this video and, yes, those lighter tubes help a lot with the exhaustion element, especially in hot weather. I'm releasing the JC trip part 2 now so enjoy! xx00 Don

Started looking at float tubes/boats once I found there were bass in some local ponds here in northern Nevada. Probably going for the Premier Plus because it'll carry 325 pounds and I'm at 250. It's been a year since this video and wondered how you feel about it now and have you had any troubles? Like having an air leak with you having to huff & puff like the big bad wolf at one of the little piggy's front door before you sink like the Titanic? Any wearing of the shell/cover the bladder's in?
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 7 лет назад
Thanks for watching and commenting! I've used the Nevada tube for two years now and have had no issues at all. It is my preferred float tube for longer hikes. No leakages from the bladder; all good with the outer shell. Yes, at 250 you should probably consider a tube with more carrying capacity. Best wishes!

My Dad has that same tube Don. He puts our fish finder mounts on it and he won't give it up. I don't know how many gift certs I have gave him to get a different one, but he bought a watch instead :) Lol!
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 9 лет назад
+Float Tube Fanatics & Fish Finder Mounts .com Wade, I already like your Dad. I got this lightweight tube for two reasons. First, I conceded that I'm not getting any younger and a lighter tube will be easier to carry it to some of the more remote places I fish. Secondly, (and you'll see this in an upcoming video with my sister) two anglers can put small tubes and all their gear easily in a compact car and travel long distances with less expense involved. Thanks for watching and tell Dad hello from me. Don

@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 6 лет назад
Bill & Mikes Angling Adventures Bill, thanks for watching the review. I ordered three Caddis tubes from Amazon (Colorado, Wyoming and Pro 2000) for occasions where I would be hiking in and a lightweight tube would be a good choice rather than the larger, heavier Cumberland tube. I still use this tube all the time and have never poked a hole in it (fingers crossed)! Yes, the truth is that you can't fall out unless you fall out of a chair you are sitting in...hahaha! There's a lot of these smaller U-boat style tubes in various sporting goods stores but I think the Caddis is probably the best. All the best. Don

is there anywhere on the tube to connect back pack straps? im looking for an ultra light tube that i can wear on my back. thanks
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles Год назад
Yes, in fact it has 8 strap attachments. Four on each side: two on the right and two on the left of both bladders at the base of the cargo pouches. I normally use a single strap over the right shoulder and carry my tackle bag over my left shoulder. The Nevada is good for hiking and easy to paddle around, but lacks "front deck" space. Still, it is a good platform.

good stuff, your videos always make me want to get a float tube, do you know if this company makes one for a large fellow like me? i am about 320, so i would want one that would hold at least 350 i think.
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 9 лет назад
+BigMike315Fishing Thanks, Big Mike. I've been float tubing since the 70's and the best "round tube" I ever owned was a Caddis. It used a truck tire inner tube so you had to inflate it before you went fishing or use a bicycle pump. Big tube, too, but I had a huge Ford station wagon so it fit easily (ha). Float tubes are sold on Amazon and at all major retail and on-line sporting goods stores. Naturally there's several brands. Here's the Caddis link so you can check out weight capacities. caddissports.com/float-tubes/Glad you liked the show; take care. Don

What do you like better this or Classic Accessories Cumberland?
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 9 лет назад
+EvolvinEvo Good question, Evolvin. I love the Cumberland tube and will certainly continue to choose it for most tubing adventures. I purchased the Nevada because I need a lightweight tube that Is easier to carry to the more difficult access places where you have to hike or climb or both. Best wishes, Don

Thanks for stopping by, Workforit. The max capacity is 225 so I'd recommend a larger tube like the Cumberland by Classic Accessories. It has a 350lb capacity. Have a great time tubing; it is a great platform for small bodies of water. Don

Can you catch crappies in a pond that has a fountain
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 9 лет назад
+Queen Day QD, I remember you asked and I provided an opinion on this same question on a different video. If there are crappie in the pond, you should be able to catch them and the fountain shouldn't make any difference. Good luck!

Can you put a trolling motor on that float tube?
@Winkiedoodles

+Winkiedoodles what float tubes could i purchase that would allow me that capability? also, I've never used a float tube before but how stable are they and can you zip around the river at a decent pace with a trolling motor?
@Winkiedoodles
@Winkiedoodles 8 лет назад
I've never seen a trolling motor capable float tube for sale. Perhaps you could perform a google search and find one that would fit your needs if something like that is on the market. You might also search youtube for videos of such a craft and dialogue with that person if there is someone out there that knows about float tubes with trolling motors.

POS Just got back from try out. Kept sliding forward. This chair will not let you set erect. I caught the biggest gafftop I have ever seen and it almost pulled my out of the chair with my hearing aids on. Is there a fix??? What is the fix to sit erect without sliding forward???
