Thanks for the shoutout! I actually really enjoy both of these! I really want to get both of these. I have 2 comptons but they have different trapways but they perform the same as this lol.
I've always thought that the Comptons performed better but the Cadets have a better flush. The Cadet seems to handle "floaters" better than the Compton.
Great test! Both are good toilets. I had a 1951 Compton installed for a year and then a 46/ 48 mismatch cadet for a couple years. They both were equally reliable, though neither one was totally clog free. I prefer the quicker flush on the Compton. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the bowl is so shallow in the front that often times you end up touching it, lol. My Cadet always flushed foam in one flush after a cleaning. I can't remember how the Compton did on foam but it was generally good.
You know, I remember the very first time I ever took a standard toilet out. I messed up big time because that toilet was an inch away from the shower door, and it barely missed the shower door and any new toilet that I put in could not do it, so I had to find one of them, and it took me forever😂
That was a great series of tests. My preference is the Compton, for a variety of reasons. I like the fact that it did better on the clog tests as well as the mulch test. However, the Cadet is still a great toilet. I have a mid '50's Cadet that needs to be retested this year and a 1950 Compton. The Compton functioned better in actual use, although it sometimes spit back paper, which hovered around the trapway opening like the mulch did. Nice work on your part!
My late 80s Kohler Barrington has toilet paper hovering around the opening all the time and requires two flushes, no idea why. Even a tiny amount of toilet paper could get that to happen.
Very interesting tests! I wish I knew the trapway sizes of each of these. Unfortunately I don’t have access to any catalogs rn. Either way, I’ve always preferred Comptons. It’s really cool to see how these generations compare
Many of the track houses in Pacoima, California had Compton toilets in them in the 1960s. The on;ly time they clogged at my house at that time, was when the tree roots would get this in the outlet sewer of the house. Otherwise, they worked excellent.
Awesome, Standard was the first choice of many builders back in the day. Unfortunately they started just using cheap mass produced no name toilets more recently
And these toilets in ebay are being sold for like 500-1000 dollars... And btw is it possible to test the Compton with 1.6 gpf flush? I heard some forward trappers can flush flawlessly with 1.6 gpf.
i havent watched it yet and i already know who is gonna win.. edit: now im done and im still not surprised. also, you should do a modernus vs compton test, along with a cadet vs plebe test.
De casualidad tienen ese inodoro llamado compton modelo standard de 1950 , todavía está en venta en México, me gusta mucho ese inodoro, porque baja bien el agua. 😍🚽
This gives new meaning to "Straight out of Compton" 😂😂😂😂 Hey, I appreciate all these flushing demos of benched(not connected) toilets on RU-vid, but in the interest of water conservation, is there a way could recapture the flushed water and refill the tanks with it? There's no human waste involved, so this is something to consider going forward.
I like both of them but i like rhe cadet at most be cause i had a Compton yeah still have it vut one time it fell and smashed and i had to use the other Compton and i didnt want to use the old i had to throw it the trash and i had an idea to put it next behind the Compton and i got it good and i kinds used and i wanted to say i hsve both of them except its just the compton is downstairs and the cadet is in upstairs and i prefer the cadet i like tbe Siphon flush and i recommend using the cadet but i like the compton way better be cause of the flush and i had an idea to make it even easier to prevent to use the Compton so i like both of them btw thanks for commenting on the cisa 2000 toilet test.
Love how it swirls the bowl right before it flushes. So they had bowl rinse in mind back then and they also used more water which makes for a better flush
These are both amazing toilets but the Compton takes the win. A cool idea would be a video called "Round American Standard Plebe vs Elongated American Standard Plebe." Lol.
Its 3am and i can't sleep bc THERE'S MICE OM THE CELING OF MY GODDAM ROOM!!!!!!!!!! And the mice are crawling around the ceiling that why i cant sleep Update:they stoped Update 2 maybe i will go sleep but idk
If you have an outside toilet at your house like I do, go for it! But never flush this stuff down a toilet that is connected to a sewer system or septic tank.
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations Actually, the funny thing is that I wanted to watch a video about how elevator works, and ended up watching about toilet flushing
