I was like 6 or 7 years old when these came out, and my aunt bought a white pearl one with the optional chrome wheels. Looking back, I can’t believe how much presence these had 20+ years ago. I still love them.
This generation of the Escalade (2002-2006) still looks nice, its got that timeless swag to it , I have the game LA rush from 2005 on my PS2 and it has the Escalade as one of the cars you can drive on that game, that was the closest thing to me driving an escalade lol..
@@yunga8305 yup, I drive by a certain business when I'm running errands ever so often and I figured out by repetition one of the people that works there drives the 2002-2006 pearl white cadillac escalade ESV in the parking lot and it's still fresh looking, some vehicles have that timeless style to them..
@@ronnie_g5051 If I ever get the extra cash, I would like to buy one of these, considering price and mileage of course. I currently drive a 2019 Terrain, would love to take an older car and mod it. I really love the design of the 2002 EXT, some variants had that jeep like tailgate design, you don't see cars like that now, everything is a box.
@BigBlock Beast I like the wood finish in the interior, the leather is nice, but it was made in the early to mid 2000s, it's not going to look like anything now.
I drive a 2003 and one thing about it for sure is the speed is insane and the launch on it , I’ve dusted so many cars and I love seeing the shock on their face 😂
People complain about badge engineering, but the fact that these share so many basic components with other GMT-800 trucks is why they're so easy to keep on the road. I have an 03 Yukon Denali, and I absolutely adore it. The 6.0 AWD plus the BFG rugged terrain T/A tires make for incredible performance and handling for a big truck. I only wish there was a way to get them with the 4L80.
this is video deepens my pride for my 2002 Escalade 6.0. goood american made SUV, seen in movies, music videos, and video games. there was no mistake when they made this gen.
4 wheels constantly monitoring the road with Stabilitrak, but yes, that is a live axle in the rear. Stabilitrak directs or stops power to specific wheels depending on conditions/slip, etc.
@@ic1815 I only mentioned it as at 27:42 the voice over lady proclaims the virtues of the world class chassis “starting with the 4 wheel independent suspension”. Bit of a whoopsie there 🤣
I love these Escalades too. This and the 2001-2006 GMC Yukon Denali, have been my favorite SUVs since I was a kid. I like the 1999-2000 Denali and Escalade, but these models definitely take the cake for me lol. And Oohh yes that’s true! I’d love to see the video on a 2004-2011 Cadillac STS. I used to own a 2007 STS all black exterior and interior (black leather seats, black rims and etc) and ever since then I have loved those cars lol. Now a days I want to get a 2008-2011 STS with the 4.6 Northstar. That’s when they gave them a small facelift( they updated the front bumper, grille, rear bumper, in the interior they updated the center console and radio area, they mixed the wood grain with a brushed Steele/aluminum material). I keep looking for one, but they’re hard to find in good condition and that don’t cost an arm and a leg lol. Maybe one of these days I’ll find one. I currently own a 2002 Yukon Denali. It needs some TLC so it can be in great condition, but other than that she’s a good old gal, she has 128k miles. Which people tell me that’s decently low for the age. I’ve been looking for a 2003-2006 Yukon Denali, but they’re hard to find in decent shape, and if you do find one, they’re selling them at high prices, for example there is one for sell near by and it’s a 2004 Yukon Denali w/ 180k miles. No rips, just normal wear and tear on the leather seats and they’re selling it for almost $9k. Like wtf! Lol
Good, i'm was born and raised in the 2000s I''ve been waiting for this moment my whole life to feel 'aesthetic' myself. 90s & 80s kids always got something to say about us.
90% Chevy Suburban 5% Cadillac badging 5% marketing to fool customers. It's funny how we love these videos but the dealers probably hated watching them lol
Your comment reminded me of Doug Demuro talking about why Toyota are fools for cancelling the Land Cruiser, like the people they were targeting the Escalade at were probably more likely to get a fully loaded Tahoe/Suburban or a Land Cruiser, something that didn't stand out so much as the the Escalade.
@@Fony_turgeson one of my brothers had an 07 escalade, the other had a 2011 ltz tahoe. I drove both, other than the escalade have a little more power (escalade 6.0 vs tahoe 5.3) they felt about the same. Same shit GM quality.
These are peak GM quality; all downhill after that. I've been daily driving an 05 for 3 years now and its still fantastic even though its about to turn 20 years old. If you get the chance to buy a clean one of these and you can afford the gas you will be happy. No constant electronic nannies like new cars, this is just just reliable luxury for cheap.
They weren't hiding the ball there. The video even talks about how they believe that the Escalade will target buyers who are much younger, more female, and, most importantly, of darker skin color.
My friend, a co-worker, won a 2000 Cadillac Deville through a special suggestion program at work. The first question I asked him was if it had the radar/sonar option up front that looked ahead; it didn't. That option wasn't yet ready. The Deville looked so sharp in a metallic dark grey or slate color with chromed wheels. What makes this a novel giveaway is that we were employees of General Motors at one of their Service Parts Operations warehouses and the contest was in-house.
This is the same car my father owns only problem is that its been neglected and now has taken dust for over 4 years i cannot wait to finish school and get a job
The video: The poise and chic looks Escalade is bigger to make impact in the SUV market *in siri voice* In my head: *hears Lean Back by Fat Joe playing while I customize in Need for Speed Underground 2*
I remember when this first came out and I thought GM had another loser on its hand. The big headlights looked goofy and aside from some extra badging and cladding you could clearly tell it was a Tahoe. Boy was I surprised when rappers ate it up and turned it into a cash cow for GM.
Welcome to the new Chevy Tahoe Yukon Denali Escalade Suburban borrowed money pit. Here in Arlington our focus is on Quantity over Quality. Clearly we have no reservations about lying through our piranha teeth by making false statements and erroneous claims like, "the MOST powerful SUV in the world." Oh GM...... You never learn.
Some people did afford that truck. Some people actually saved money and bought whatever. actually worked honest jobs with overtime. Check after check no excuses plus home mortgage. So yeah escalades ain't far from a hardworking person. Work : business, labor, service, what ever you do. Just get money which a lot of people rather not. Not just escalades anything you want go get. Some people work 2 jobs. And you know it. Some don't want to work part time. So there goes my view on who can get a 2022 escalade
My biggest question is why this generation of Escalade was the last one to have comfortable plush seats. The next one wasnt, and The 2019 I sat in was hard like a brick, total trash. This gen was luxury
Yeah the black hiphop culture definitely propelled the Escalade. Look at the all the current commercials. All lead by leading black actors and actress to further push the brand....but you can't lie though. It looks better when a wealthy black man owns it lol
The body on these is good but the front end of the previous version is definitely more attractive imo. The ones after this got less and less interesting.
