Been a Cadisen fan since I first got a C1032 in my grubby mitts. This is a decent subbie homage, like the shiny bezel but strangely I am shying away from larger l2l towards 38 to 39mm dials. Great to see Molly hunting!
I am the same and I am renowned for midsize reviews but when asked by Cadisen to review it I thought why not? Glad I did as it is a nice watch, even though it is a sunny homage....which I am not a fan of.
Just received mine, which your nice review helped me pick. Some early observations: - mine has green lume for the hands and pip and blue lume for the markers - looks cool but I worry that the hands might fade first - cyclops is slightly misaligned, nothing terrible though - the glide lock on mine seems sturdy and works well, the bracelet is great and easy to work with, however the edges of the clasp are too sharp - the bezel alignment and feel are great, there is almost no back play (maybe half a click if that), and it's neither too loose or too firm - the crown feels durable - the male endlinks are a shame, honestly I'd prefer hollow female ones to solid male ones - these affect the overall look, it's not jarring but it's not ideal either - overall I have no complaints with the watch itself and the minor issues with the bracelet are super ok given the price.
It's funny how I started collecting budget watches with pagani design but my go to brand for automatic are now all cadisen. I have this exact watch, along with the GS birch homage, explorer 36 homage and blue nautilus homage and I must say, aside from my heimdallr mm300, I think my 4 cadisen watches are my next favorites. Not only because of the design and quality, but also to the accuracy. All 4 of my cadisen have been consistently witihin -1 to +3 s/day from stock. I bought the pd1778 and had to regulate myself it since it came at +25s/day.
Thank you for this review! I was thinking of getting the Sugess sub but this Cadisen is good enough for me. It has better lume compared to Pagani Design and has 200M water resistance. This is just a smarter buy. Sugess is higher quality finishing for sure but the price is double.
Thanks, good review. Looks like a nice watch. I'm not crazy about having "Cadisen" etched in the rehaut 10 times, I would find it distracting I think..
You don't actually see the name when wearing it but it really catches the light. For a cheap watch this is in my top 3 on Ali now...and I really don't like Sub Homages...go figure !?
I just bought this watch , Next to the C8210M i already had . Remember today up to Sept 22 there are crazy sale prices on some stores on Aliexpress, i bought it with around 30 % discount of the original price. Cant go wrong with a Cadisen especially for such prices. Great quality watches.
Cadisen have definitely upped there game, and this looks a nice little watch,we all love the sub design,so imo this is a nice watch with good specs for the money. Cheers John keep these brilliant reviews coming.
Comments are sometimes set aside by the algorithm because they are deemed offensive. Does it all the time and your message was flagged but I don't know why :)
Excellent review, John. They could lose the Cyclops as far as I'm concerned, but it's a great value proposition. See me, but - anyone ups my auntie, I'll pit the heid in um, help ma boab. Cheers 🍻!
Oh that's gorgeous I haven't seen a Cadisen since the tag style watch you made a video on I think 6 or 7 months ago I'd say its more than worth the money.
hey, congrats on almost being at 4k! :D Have you seen the new Citizen 37mil diver? Have you thought about picking one up for review? would've been interested in hearing your thoughts and how it compares to other smaller divers, like say that Tandorio (hey, first video of yours I ever saw almost a year ago! 😀)
I did pick it up as it is an important piece but I just sold it along with some other watches as time is passing too quickly for the amount of work I have on!
If you want a good budget subby this would be the one. Cadisen make solid watches that work without the massive qc issues of some of the other brands. I wear their tag homage nearly every day and have even worn it to clean the hull of the sailboat I race on. That’s a dirty job with lots of clanging about and copious amount of mud flowing into every nook and cranny. And it just keeps on ticking with no water damage or a single scratch in the metal.
One thing that cadisen does is that they do regulate their watches. I have 3 of their watches and they all came with 0.1-0.2 beat errors regulates to +/-2 seconds per day accuracy.
Well there certainly is plenty of choice out there, ie. this, pagani, and all the others with unpronouncable names...... Seiko prolly making more from selling movements than their actual watches...
I received one of these C8216M Sub's from Cadisen today the watch is constructed from decent quality parts. The Glidelock clasp is very useful and welcome, unfortunately the niggle is the totally abysmal bezel action. Lateral play and bounce plus too light an action to make it useable for anything more than timing an egg at home. That's a real shame it's my first Cadisen and will be my last until they improve their bezels and general QC. I paid $72 for it and because of the bezel consider it poor value compared to a number of other sub $100 Sub homages. I personally would not recommend this model.
It's comparable and I prefer it for how it wears. It looks great and is balanced better. It just feels less of a lump on the wrist. The bezel on the Steeldive is excellent though. The Cadisen's is less precise.
I mean, it's a decent watch for the money. In my personal opinion the applied logo is unnecessary here, so less would be more in this regard. I often find these clasps have sharp edges. How about this one?
The clasp works flawlessly though as you know this clasp and me have history so plaudits have to go to Cadisen for making it work BUT yeah...I disagree on the applied logos. It is the best Chinese logo out there! We are in harmonious disagreement again haha
No it's just a personal piece as it is 50 years old. I am trying to do more outwith The Chinese watch scene and it is slowly turning but most still just do not watch :(
I think I'm the only person that wants a semi loose bezel. Use mine for clothes washing and drying sessions, faster than setting timer on the phone. lol
I don't really like Diverwatch, especially Submarine homage, but I'm worried if I'm not using it after I bought it right away as if I was fascinated by your review My wrist is the same as yours So I don't have a single watch over 40mm
I have the Steeldive 1953 on the way and will do a head to head but it will be after the sale. I have to say this has impressed me more than any Steeldive I have handled. Just my opinion of course :)
@@johnswatchjoint I actually ordered the steeldive literally 1 minute ago, noticed it was on some sort of super deal so payed roughly 70USD for it. Looking forward to getting it!
@@johnswatchjointentirely upto you but i like them. I can't really see what difference you showing us what you're wearing whilst reviewing watches makes for people think you're a "salesman". Some people are never happy. Keep up the good work.
Yep, we live in an unforgiving world. Tbh I don't really follow what others do anyway and it was never going to be a thing for me as I usually wear my own daily beater so it would get tiring for people watching it daily haha!
It would be as simple as putting lumed up sword hands instead of Mercedes hands to make this more of an original design. Somewhat fed up with China's unyielding love for copy-pasta jobs.
