Thumbs up for the driver, one of the best kart drivers i have seen , he pushed that great machine to it s absolute limit! Superb control, also the guy is a race animal on wheel to wheel racing!
I absolutely adore this circuit. It's got a very old-school traditional look/feel to it and flows beautifully. No stupid chicanes everywhere, so the drivers can actually drive flat-out the way it's supposed to be.
Alba Gu Bràth I love this circuit too but high top speeds are not a guarantee of good racing, much less a definition of it. Of the high speed circuits you refer to, Spa is a lot more mixed speed than it was say 50 years ago and Monza is not that well-liked by drivers. For daring to disagree I get called a troll. For having an opinion I get told I don’t know what I’m talking about. Why don’t you ask the damned drivers?
M Stein, They put the chicane in for bike racing, they don`t want a gaggle of riders approaching the mountain section at 150mph together. They`ve worked at making these old type race circuits a bit safer over the years. Superbikes have over 220bhp nowadays. This year`s Ducati Panigale V4, to be ridden by Josh Brookes and Scott Redding and hopefully Shane Bryne,(here`s the 226bhp road version on an IOM TT demo lap... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LUYgE3m4PfE.html), may have nearer 240bhp. It`s worth taking in a BSB round just for the sound, the cacophony of the mix of Yamaha cross-plane motors, Ducatis V-twins(V4s this year), Hondas, Suzukis and Kawasakis on the rev limiters launching off from the start-finish line together. This is British Superbikes last year, 40-50,000 spectators, love the place. I know a quiet short-cut by road to the circuit and can ride in without queueing! Know the best vantage points too.....ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j7gSv_h360Y.html
Fantastic driving! Just watching got my heart pumping...listening to those 2-strokes... I road raced Honda rs125 GP bikes twenty years ago... that sound brought me back!
Truly amazing. Awesome track with everything, long straight, fast sweeping corners and elevation changes. Very technical. Impressed with your driving. Fast, consistent and patient. Well done.
Wow!!!!! If your only in it for the pure rush and the thrill of a seat of the pants race its hard to see why anyone would want to race anything other than one of those carts!!! My hat is off to you sir, most exhilarating race ive seen in ages, subbed for sure!
So happy I just watched this! Having driven Caldwell in a Lotus Elise I know the track and you made it look super easy! The camera angle doesn’t do the corners and hills justice. 100% respect👊
Man, you are a very good pilot with a great style...late on the brakes, never giving up, excellent corner speed, competptive to the end. It was a great fun to watch you and that buzzing engine is the bonus.
@@martingeldart386 Very Good ! I was merely trying to point out that he didn't Win... I knew there was at least ONE kart in front.. You've better eyes than me .. hehe
That was very exciting to watch! Thanks for sharing. I race this track in different racing sims all the time and it's great to see it from a super karts perspective.
Fabulous driving and thanks for giving us such a ride. I'm always staggered that these things don't have any kind of roll safety structure. I'm very grateful that I didn't flip when I did a bit of kart racing years ago. Take care and keep up the good work! Cheers from Sydney, Aust - Dave
Just seen the 250 class at Cadwell today and im totally hooked. These things are insane. Got a chance to speak to most of the teams and racers in the paddock area and everyone couldn't have been nicer.
I raced there in 1976 in the British long circuit championships, National 210 class. Had a horrible first day with the gearbox failing, but then worked my way through all the heats to the A final, finishing 26 out of a total entry of 160. Fantastic weekends racing on an amazing circuit. Still feel a bit guilty about the pheasant I hit on the right handler after the mountain.
WELL DONE ... WELL DONE ... WELL DONE I used to drive SCCA (1500cc class) back in the day and my dream was always F1. I stopped watching motorsports of all kinds until now. You made it interesting once again for me. You gave me the feeling that I was driving, once again, without the risk and expense :) Thank you.
Great race dood, was really with you throughout. Very enjoyable to watch, and I wish you the best in racing. Clearly have a bright future in the sport ;)
What an amazing track and can only imagine how fun it is..Now after reading through some comments,it seems I'm not alone in my thoughts of this beautifully designed and built race track.
Well done, sir. Kart was certainly dialed in and your skills were obvious. What a joy to watch you pick those drivers courageously, methodically. Like another poster remarked, if only all (or even most) race series were this interesting, ...!
AWESOME! SO much easier to go fast to chase after someone, than to be out in the open alone...I GOT to do this! I've only been to ONE F1 race, [the LAST at Long Beach, CA (USA) 1983], and the opening race were "Supercarts"...and they were FASTER than the F1 cars (on the narrow street-race circuit).
72mph in a Rotax kart felt crazy fast i just can't fathom what 120mph must feel like! Crazy dude and great driving btw. Your body must feel great the next morning right?
Mate...at 112mph = 183km per hour these a serious machines. Never watched a superkart race before so first time viewer here. Wow. Great driving by all involved and much more entertaining than F1.
Spam Armor technically this is superkart.. shifter kart is 125cc from DD2 to KZ2 and KZ1. There is a lot of official championship for KZ.. you can try search it.. you may see a lot of F1 driver previously done KZ.. very fun to watch too..
only one and that was nigel mansell to race gearbox karts all the rest drove class 1on short cicuits, now if they had picked some of the gearbox racers
That is hands down the greatest gokart track I have ever seen, blows everything else away! Most tracks are so boring but the elevation changes and variety and sweeping bends here are superb, I would love to have a go one day. Great driving too! Thanks for the video :) What country is this track located in?
Thanks Wyatt Foster I can see why they would, even if it seems a bit narrow for this but I guess it depends on the type of car. Was this track originally built for full size cars or was it built for the Gokarts?
Wow very impressive, I know Cadwell like the back of my hand but it looks totally different from such a low down perspective to what it looks like from a motorcycle point of view.
One of the reasons Karting is still the best kept secret in Motorsports. What a great drive by all in this awesome race. I ran Enduros in the States for 15 years & never get tired of seeing how great these drivers are. Looks like 105 folks just got the you know what scared out of them to the point they had to hit the ole dislike button. Ya gotta love the sport to be a part of it.
Wtf the track has a very great layout! Always fascinating how thrilling changes of height can make a drive/ride. The driving was very nice. Tough and clean racing from what I saw
That is, why speed gives the, adrenaline rush it does, being a split second mistake, away from death. It pushes you to levels of personal performance you never thought you could reach. There is NOTHING like it, the best high there is.
Great driving, great skill! Emotions much higher than F1, where it is 90% the car that guarantees a success. Still, everyone wants to be there... What would happen if bigger money was involved in the karts? It would gradually be more and more technical and finally become F1. Would you like it to?
@Thomas Dyson Lewis never gearbox carts.. Hmm never knew that thnx for the info. Sprintrace between Alonso, Vettel Verstappen and Hamilton Ohw yeah. They should do a Paris Bercy like the old days every year.
Richard Mertens I’d say let’s not stop there.... take open wheel talent from indycar and F1 and maybe even super formula and hold a big race each year. If you put that on tv people would eat it up. They would all need equal karts tho. Not their own prepared ones bc I want a = playing field and they could have a minimum weight so no one has an advantage. People would love it.
Also see he dropped from 1 28.985 best lap in the draft to 1 28.902 on Lap 11 after he got in front out of the draft with it running lower temp in the mid 40 C
Great stuff! Love when it gets light over the crest. A couple of times I was reaching for another gear as it screamed along in top at over 13,000 RPM!!
