Well yes but g2 need to get rid of coaching staff wunder and miky. G2 needs rebuilt and refreshed. Jankos is the only one playing good and caps and rekkles are foundations to build upon, they just need a correct playstyle for them

They don't take it serious enough. They are always like 'Ye we made it to finals'. But they should be 'We didn't win worlds, we need to improve'. I liked this team, because besides them playing well they could also have a little fun. Now they let the quality of their gameplay just fade. You can say what you want but Perkz atleast didnt let his ego (if he has one) get in the way of his career.

caps gonna get a massive ego hit,since he made world finals with fnc he never got better,people arent talking about caps mid right now,faker is back in the talks,showmaker,chovy,knight,but not caps,he didnt look like the 2 time world finalist to me,i think about a guy like uzi when u mention world finalist,when u mention caps i think of a semi finalist,same with reckless,i cant imagine them competing in a world finals,they can make it with luck but they wont win,the swift games vs IG and fpx showed how outmatched they were...not because of decision making or strats but because they got outperformed individualy,and i really hate to trashtalk caps cause he to me is the best midlaner the west has ever gotten considering potential,better than bjerg,perkz,even better than alex ich/froggen/xpeke from old times

to negate it to hilly, that's why fnc is successful in draft, their champ pool is big aside from nisqy

The solo kills on Wunder were a big problem too. Solo kill is a big deal in pro plays. Also, clear bot diff throughout the serie even without TF or jungle involved. Caps did perform sometimes good, sometimes meh, but definitely not as good as he used to. Jankos seems the most relevant imo. Then there's the draft too, but the problem goes beyond the draft.

That one game where Fnatic herald mid and Nisqy got solo local gold and was already way ahead in gold + TF passive and had 2 items at like 12 mins was kind of nuts yeah...

TF was easily counterable with Ryze only if WUnder didnt hard lost top. Ryze Camille mid late game sidelanes would be horror for Fnc

It might have been a problem but the team might have felt ok dealing with it. Same thing happened in Worlds Semi 2016 when ROX pulled out MF support for 2 games. After the 1st one, Kkoma asked Wolf if that was a problem and he said no, and they lost again right after. That just happened repeatedly for G2 that series, which was quite understandable cuz TF's value is actually dependent on other lanes and how jungler plays.

True, it doesn't matter if you can get an advantage in lane if your pick doesn't fit how your team wants to play 5v5 fights. These guys are pro players, they know how to play bad lanes and not int(unless you're promisQ). Drafting for lane doesn't do much unless your team actually specifically plays to stomp early and close the game out fast, which is pretty hard with evenly matched teams.

LCK draft for team comps a lot And LPL more individual matchups FNC and MAD have the LPL playstyle

It is important to say, that drafting process is fairly complex and you can pick billions of unique teamcomps, even considering only LEC champion pool. Someone can easily calculate this, if you have enough time - amount of possible drafts will be insane (Although, in reality, drafts aren't THAT different, becouse each meta and each player / team has its own priority, so you would need to consider that aswell). Its like playing chess - you can prepare some lines, that are probable, but on certain step, you would have to improvise :P (Chess is far more complicated thou :D)

Well that's kinda what G2 used to do in the past. Lota of games with Galio supp(when he still was meta), TF mid, Nocturne jgl, and gankplank top. And they used to all colapse on some part of the map and create pressure. Don't know why they don't keep doing that, since Fnatic won them with the same strategy G2 won LEC finals against them. Seemed like all the teams learned how to play against G2, and G2 are stuck

Perkz was a true leader

Braum negates Tf stun card, so they cant really make picks, in theory but micky got catched so often solo that he couldnt jump on someone, but he saved his team sometime from those cards. In theory was a well organized strategy to force the tf Pick and making it useless afterwards. But they sucked playing for it. IDk why they picked orianna in game 4. After 3 Games of Braum with 33% wr, i wouldnt have picked in Game 5. I dont know why caps didnt pick tf, just ban xinzhaou in first 3 rotations and get tf. if enemy troll and go for viego, you will have tf lee sin and a free win. so ban pyke, renekton and xin, and get tf. whatever nisqy will pick you can bet that he is most valueable on tf. With that being said ye even tho the Braum snt bad to give nisqy 4 Games Tf was Grabbz fault

Often the players will basically “ego” ban and just say nah I didn’t think TF was the problem, we can play into it with this, etc. Or maybe they had scrimmed against TF a lot and thought they had it figured out. Not always the coaches fault, even SKT when they were winning Worlds would get shit on by something and just say yea let’s leave it up I can play against it trust me.

It does not take an expert at the game to know that certain things just don't work

It's pretty reasonable for most people to know when food is bad because they are more experienced at tasting food than they are with pretty much everything else they have done in their life. A better analogy would be if a surgery went wrong and you complained to the surgeon and told him he's so dumb and that he should have been focusing on the heart because that's obviously where the problem was because the heart stopped beating. However, most people aren't surgeons and probably don't actually understand why the heart stopped and are just assuming the surgery needed to be done on the heart and the surgeon is a retard for doing the surgery on the part that the surgeon knew was the issue and the heart stopping was just a side-effect of not being able to successfully complete the operation.

But what is he supposed to do, he has no real authority over his players (at least it never seems like he has), so he can only try to guide the things they want to do in a somewhat reasonable direction. Certainly not a situation I'm envious of

There's a lot of champions that are better than TF and you just have to pick or ban (Like Varus). Also since Wunder was getting shit on by Adam they had to ban top laners like Renekton

@@roguegn champs my be better on paper but it's all about the execution and player. if you see that enemy midlaner can get huge profits from that pick, you should ban it then.

@@fnaticbwipo1222 Don't forget, G2 has access to a TON of scrim games you never got to see. For all you know they were constantly beating TF in every scrim and losing to the champs they banned. If that happened, maybe they just assumed the other game (which happened to be on stage) was a fluke.

FNC did the same against Doinb in 2019. There it was bc nemesis said he can play into his ryze even tho it carried every game. It's not always up to the coaches to decide. :)

I think the coaches are more or less important for their teams in a way that they provide another point of view to the players. They have to focus on to what they are doing ingame while their coaches are not under the pressure of misplaying/making false decisions

why do you think there's a single answer for whose "fault" it is? people are thirsting for blood as if there's one right answer. if it was as easy as "get rid of the bad player, get rid of the bad coach" then it should be super simple to build a strong team.... but it's not that straightforward. there's a lot of factors that go into succeeding as a team. wunder underperforming and bad drafts are certainly a part of it but it's also a total misinterpretation to be like "THE PROBLEM WITH G2 IS GRABBZ BECAUSE THEY WOULD WIN WITH BETTER DRAFTS". caedrel has dived deep into problems with g2's gameplay and drafts multiple times on stream, and he's talked about some of the factors, but obviously none of us see the behind-the-scenes stuff so he can't "know" what all the problems are

if you ask whats fault it is, thats kind of odd. probably a team-communication fault id say, noone specific but the whole construction. Its just not guaranteed to patch together the all pros and expect an equally good team to their single pieces added.

G2 with Caps and Wunder used to be so superior that they could pick off-meta picks like Vayne mid and still win games. Rest of LEC improved while G2 stagnated/regressed, now you actually get to see how troll their drafts are when they cant just "outplay" every other team.
