Not true, I know many people that have signed up because of how accepting of an environment they are creating. I guess they are more concerned with getting the new generations in than keeping you in.

I applied for regular force about a week ago because it was something I've always wanted to do and really looking at a military career for atleast 3 years or longer sounds like a challenge that I would gladly accept. But I am now kind of nervous after seeing this video. If mental health is allowed to go rampant within our military like they have just depicted, well I guess no amount of researching and studying before my BMQ will prepare me for that. What of the outcomes that mental health will have if someone snaps and turns against they're brothers and sisters in arms? The comradery faulters, this military does not seem to hold themselves to a high standard relative to our NATO counterparts. I feel this is more of a risk for my well being more now. I know who I am and what I stand for which is in step with most, if not all Canadians, but my concern lays now within those I will be expected to rely on with my life.
It's not worth it my man. The CAF is a joke. It's just a government beurocracy, nothing more. You will end up wasting years of your life on some shitty base, surrounded by alcoholics and weed addicts. Unless thats what you want.

It's a shame that so many comments here are poking fun at this member - so what if she's transgender? All that should matter here is her ability to do her job, and clearly she is as she is still here. Canada's military should be reflecting Canada's values, and what people can do should be the only metric that applies here. If you want superficial "tough" messaging, go look at Russian army ads - and see how functional the second-most powerful army in Ukraine is when actually put to the test.

@ethics3 1st of all it's of course, not of coarse 2nd Are you completely unaware of the fact that the Soviet national anthem is a huge Internet joke. 3rd No I actually do think that the Canadian forces need a lot of improvements, The F35, Type 26 Figates, as well as modernising the Leopard 2's ( Provided we are going to spend the money to keep them in decent shape). As well as several other programs are a decent start... I think a downsized Queen Elizabeth Carrier, As well as replacing our submarines with more capable ones, would be necessary for force projection. we can't rely on the States for everything
@@Lord_Foxy13 we desperately need more ground based air defence, both against traditional targets like aviation and missile attack, as well as against drones. The war in Ukraine has really emphasized that need. We also need way more high accuracy indirect fire systems, acquire more armoured vehicles and move to a more armoured/mechanized structure, squad level drone reconnaissance, and a significantly larger stockpile of ammunition, live fire training, and latest gen thermal and night vision optics for all combat forces. There's plenty more we need but it's clear those are glaring deficiencies that we need to recognize.
