Consider this: Trans people are the most dedicated people. They are willing to give up everything about their previous self to live authentically, under go a lifetime of hurtful societal pressures, endure years or decades of medications, surgeries, come out to their family and friends and they do it every day while no one watches, that's dedication. Yeah, I want this level of dedication in my Military. I'm a 1988-1996 US Army Military Police Veteran and I'm also transgender.

I feel that, in general, transgender men are more "passable" than a transgender women. I didn't realise he wasn't a cis male until he told it himself.

I'm so happy these two have found each other. I hope they have a lot of love and support for their life together.

I'm 66. The world really has changed. I served in the military. Maybe one-day, we can get rid of religion and its hate and start loving each other the way we should. I cried when I saw how these two sweet kids love each other.

Regardless of what you think of trans people, have respect for him for serving in the military.

Regardless of your "plumbing", sexual orientation, religious beliefs and so-fourth.....when you are a soldier and you have sworn an allegiance to the American Constitution and you are willing to fight for our country, those things that others try to use to divide us are irrelevant! Americans are the embodiment of a multitude of people who are united in our love of our country and what it stands for!!!! If the "haters" can't deal with another's individual's freedom or their own personal truth to be who they are....maybe THEY need to read our Constitution AGAIN. It's NOT about their god or their hate or their insecurities! At the time I had served, and had the time line put us together, I would have been so proud to serve along Logan's or his wife's side. A soldier's, marine's, airman's, sailors creed is the same: we watch each others back and we fight for the Constitution of the United States AND the freedom and liberties of our own and the people of the United Sates. It is the multitude of all of our differences that make us stronger. God bless America!!!!

He's a man serving his country, and that's the only thing that matter. He's a soldier, he a man, and he's serving his country, and if someone has anything more to say about it, you're a coward. These are two amazing people who are serving their country with honor, they both deserve the utmost respect and using the proper pronouns.

It makes me sad that his only escape was Afghanistan. Knowing that we're out of there now, I wonder if he is doing well.

So I think this actually changed my opinion. I was always of the mindset that because trans people tend to go through a lot of physical changes, it would hinder their ability to serve. But...I think I don't believe that anymore. Clearly, this couple is doing everything they can to serve their country and it makes me angry that they're not allowed to go by their preferred pronouns.

I was in the Military almost 30 years..I also am retired from a high volume EMS service. I am proud of anybody I served with who goes through so much and has to work harder to prove themselves. i served in the army and when i was in, homosexuality was illegal. i knew a guy in my battalion that got kicked out of the army for being gay. im glad this individual can serve and not have to worry about his sexual preference anymore. as far as im concerned, most people dont want to serve so if you're gay or straight and you wanna be in the military, you're my brother or sister and i got your back no matter what. u have to have a lot of balls to serve your country for minimum wage.

I've been on the fence about this issue for the longest time. Earned my respect. I admit I may have been wrong.

Even though half of his country does not accept who he is, he is still serving for his country and defending you. All the people in the comments saying that he is still and girl, just leave. He is protecting us, defending us, and what does he get in return? He gets your backlash, your rude and disrespectful comments. I don't see you serving for your country. But he is. He is such an elegant & intelligent human being & guy, & so is his gf. I remember watching this twice when its came out it does not surprise me it has had almost 3 million views their situation is extremely validating for anyone (not just trans) who is misrepresented, often without proof, or being spoken to as a person.
