I totally love these planes, one of my most favourite ever. There's something about them, they just look right. Beautiful !

Great explanation on the type certificate! I always wondered if you could do the dive on a ride or if they ever did that at airshows but this explains it.

I'd trade my right leg just to sit in an SBD's gunner station for 15 minutes. Even just on the ground, engine off. My absolute favorite warbird. I suppose y'all don't accept limbs as currency though, darn it. IMHO the Dauntless doesn't get nearly the love and appreciation she earned. The main instrument of the first big W for the US in WWII. (Not that my opinion matters at all, but I agree she should wear Midway colours.) I love the ole' Slow But Deadly and have since I was a little kid. Thanks CAF for loving her, too.
