I am from CDO. CDO is definitely a bigger city. But CDO is dirty and chaotic in most parts. Iloilo is way much cleaner, more organized, and even though CDO has higher per capita income, Iloilo barely shows poverty compared to CDO. I hope that CDO will get COMPETENT administrators someday. Old kagay-anons complain about how ugly and chaotic CDO had become.

Uptown CDO is new and a huge area is not shown here. What is shown here is only the old poblacion or the Downtown CDO. But most of CDO is actually stretched long along the narrow plain by the shore. Uptown CDO is inland and up on the hills (plateue) while Downtown CDO (shown here) is lowland by the shore.
Pareho namang walang heavy industries kundi mga port cities powered by agriculture. Puro man iyan developer. Sooner lahat ng cities na maluluwag pa eh tatayuan ng mga negosyo nila. Nagkakatalo na lang sa "design" at diyan panalo ang iloilo kasi mayroong river at the heart of the city and beside it ay open spaces.
Si sir sherwin na bahala kong ano talaga ang totoo. Anyway bawat lugar may advantages at saka disadvantages. Pars sa skin in terms of economic factors lamang si CDO kasi napakaraming industriya mayroon jan pero maganda lang talaga si iloilo plastado kasi at malinis sa ngayon.. Sana lahat ng siyudad sa pilipinas maging maganda. Para sa akin kasi sa tourism lang kasi tayo mas may iaangat pa kong pag igihan pa lalo ng ating pamahalaan at partisipasyon nating mga pilipino..
Partida wala pang Megaworld sa CDO. Manresa Township by Cebu Landmasters is ongoing land development. Another SMDC about to launch. Primavera cita Grande 12f x Cita Alta 33F with Citadines and Radisson Blu 5 star hotel this only will be rise in Uptown part of CDO.

CDO winner of course in GDP, Anual Growth, total assets, Population soon to be Metro CDO. Iloilo cant catch up and basically impossible, Iloilo is compting with Bacolod, but where will they get more people ? they are encircled by Cebuano/Bisaya in Cebu-Negros Oriental-Bohol-Leyte and almost all of Mindanao. Ilonggoy is a declining language down to 7 million and will be extinct in a few decades along with Ilocano, Kapmpangan etc

Nasa strategic route ng cargo from luzon/batangas-cebu-mindanao. Napatunayan na yan ng OXFORD 1000 Global Cities No 3 is CDO. Poor Iloilo was NOT even included in Oxford List . hahhahaha
Makita mo talaga na mas progressive pa ang Bacolod kaaysa iloilo. It should be Bacolod vs cdo for better comparison. Iloilo para lng Po yan nang kabangkalan city , ormoc , at tagbilaran . Poro low-rise building sa iloilo di kadaya sa Bacolod Marami nang mataas na gusali parang davao at Cebu na ang bacolod
