Gabe Simmons YES I KNOW i think this was his best phase although he's obviously still a cutie now (he might be a dad soon though because he's married!!)
this is my favorite version by far, just the way he sings it w/ that rasp at the "now you know" part, I like that style of singing starting out holding a note then hit the high note like something Janis Joplin would do... This one and the acoustic dr dr dr in reading are great acoustic performances.. he seems so serious yet having fun, now thats entertainment, this song got me through some rough times when i first herd it it was like it was made for me at that time, helped me out :) I
What I love about Matt, is the fact that he's got such a unique voice so kind of defies that generic sound. Plus he usually goes crazy during performances, so this is probably hard for him x) I met them yesterday. They're the sweetest people ever. And for the longest time, I thought Matt and DAN were siblings, haha not brad! I was so wrong. haha
I saw them live and ill tell you they are one of those "real" bands that just loves to play music and you cant generally find that now a days in music and thats what makes them so great. they really are the greatest band of our time in my opinion. oh yeah and they are SO much better live than on record
I believe his constant bouncing around in his earlier performances was because of years of former drug abuse but I don't think he was actually high during the shows
@thatonerockinkid thats called a dobro. it is a resonator guitar, which is kind of like an acoustic. instead of an f-hole, it has a metal plate in the center that vibrates and causes the guitar to be even louder
@Phillysports1000 Ill agree with you but i feel most of their influence comes from the pixies. To me its more like 80's indie rock that influences them
@TheSilentJason ok,stay w/ me now.I always thot that lincoln's name was brad, and brads name was lincoln.so i thot the BLOND guitarist was matt's brother,but i just found out yesterday that the other guitarist was.and, (in my mistaken terms) i wondered wy ppl sed lincoln was the lead guitarist,cuz i was sure brad was,until i found out,i was way wrong.and outta all the members in the band,i thot tht matt and lincoln looked the most alike,even tho they arent related >.< lol try to understand that.
Matt reminds me so much of a little kid here. He's an amazing singer and has so much raw talent but his ADHD kills him sometimes and I feel like this is one of those times where he has way to much energy for his own good. Don't get me wrong he still did a great performance but so much energy contained is never good thing. lol
