I was there. It was EPIC. The energy in the crowd was on another level. We had just seen Flogging Molly and it was crazy hot. When he points up and everyone sings still puts my hairs up.
Best show I've ever been at. Man, the energy...when he points up at the sky after it had been hot and dry and started raining while everyone was singing "even on a cloudy day". I will never forget that ( gives a chill just watching it) even up to my last breath. Thanks Cage the Elephant
+Mr.Woo Woo You cannot go wrong seeing CTE live. I've seen then in 2009 during their debut, and in 2015. Both times were full of energy and never a dull moment. I even met the band during a meet and greet. Very nice guys!
Same! I was there too and it was just magical. Never seen so many people all together being so into it, jumping and singing. Coming back to this video is always so bitter sweet.
The camera guy is REALLY good, it seemed like he/she knew the song beat for beat, they knew when the bass kicked in, when certain instruments came in/dropped out. Really fucking great.
+Ulysess Faye same here. i was there too. it still gives me chills when he points to the sky and everyones singing together. That energy there was so fucking awesome!
Being at this show and specifically this song when he pointed to the clouds as it's pouring down is one of the most memorable and magical experiences I've ever had.
This performance is a testament to CTE's amazing ability to captivate an audience. I get chills no matter how many times I watch this video. I'm sad that I was not able to share this experience in person.
I'm in the front row on the left (right from this perspective) This was the most breathtaking show I've ever seen. Coldplay the Saturday before was also AMAZING! :'D
+BushBumper I agree! I was there too. I'm to the left of the stage. It was hot there right up to that show. When it started raining and everyone was singing "Shake me Down"...even on a cloudy day. Man, it was electric. I never felt energy on that level at a concert. It was on another level! Yeah Coldplay was good, but better yet was My Morning Jacket. Great weekend i'll never forget, but this show was special!
+GunsLinger yeah saw them this Memphis in may fest they killed it matt was standing on the crowd like Jesus walking on water and there amps were loud as fuck
Not a lot of people left around. 10 years and I’m the only one coming back to this video. Uff-Da. This is one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen on camera. And I’ve seen a lot.
13 years later seeing this now. I’m in the crowd on the left. I remember the water gushing past our feet when it started pouring rain right before they started playing this song. There were a lot of great acts that day but this is my highlight of both the day and probably the weekend. Thank you for capturing this moment!
I was in this crowd! Definitely the highlight of the day. I remember once the rain really started it was gushing down the pavement toward the stage. Felt like having a river at your feet!
I was here. It was truly fucking unforgettable. I think about this all the time. It was pouring during most of their set. You can’t see it from the video but it was downpouring. Nobody cared. It just made the experience better. ❤️
The first time I ever tried using rice to fix a wet phone was after this slow. You can’t see it but the water was knee deep by the stage. Foo fighters headlined this night as well. Hands down the fastest I’ve ever fallen in love with a band.
I was determined to see Cage the Elephant before I die--sort of a 'Band Bucket List'--and I made it into Lollapalooza to see their performance that year. This show and this song was one of, if not the best experiences of my life. If one word could describe it, it would be: Sublime.
that just gave me the chills bro, like the rain, the crowd, it must feel so fucking good to write that good of a song and to perform it in front of a huge crowd with everybody singing in unison and just ugh i almost teared up
This video gives me hope that rock is far from dead, the frount singer getting out there in the rain with them, and them singing back to him was great. I love this video.
Shake me down, Not a lot of people left around, Who knows now, Softly laying on the ground, oh Not a lot people left around, oh, oh In my life, I have seen, People walk into the sea, Just to find memories, Plagued by constant misery, Their eyes cast down, Fixed upon the ground, Their eyes cast down I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Shake me down, Cut my hair on a silver cloud, Broken sound, Softly laying on the ground, oh Not a lot people left around, oh, oh In my past, bittersweet, There's no love between the sheets, Taste the blood, broken dreams, Lonely times indeed, With eyes cast down, Fixed upon the ground, Eyes cast down I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Turn back now its time for me to let go, Way down had to find a place to lay low, Lampshade turned around into a light post Walk around the corner, Never saw it coming still, I try to make a move, It almost stopped me from belief, I don't wanna know the future, But I'm like rolling thunder, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, Even on a cloudy day, I'll keep my eyes fixed on the I'll keep my eyes fixed on the I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun Shake me down, Not a lot of people left around
Se um dia eu pudesse pintar um quadro, pintaria exatamente esse momento na história. A banda que eu amo, tocando a música que mais amo deles, num momento magnífico, não poderia ser melhor, esse vídeo está salvo no meu coração!
This was one of the best sets I've seen at a festival. The pouring rain just added to the whole thing. As if Cage needed anything else to make their sets more epic. Just saw them two nights ago, can't wait to see them again at this years Lolla.
