I don’t understand why this was not on the live broadcast? Why do they never get to perform on the show? Why is alternative rock completely shut out of the award show?? Cage the Elephant is such a great band and there are sooo many other alternative artists out there that deserve to be represented at the Grammy’s!! Not all of us are kids, some of us are adults who like to listen to REAL music!! I’m so confused because alternative rock is where the true musical talent is...🤔
I couldn't agree with you more. I saw CTE on the Social Cues tour with my then 17 year old daughter and it was a fantastic concert. Spoon opened up for them and they are an equally great alternative rock band. Indie & Alternative Rock should get more exposure because that is truly where creative music comes from.
Ferit Doğan That silliness is the real them too lol. I went to school with Matt and Brad since 7th grade all the way until we graduated Greenwood high school. Matt isn’t anything like on stage though, he’s pretty calm and reserved. The calm guy you see in interviews is the real Matt. I wish I had a way to contact him, haven’t seen him since they hit it big. He used to invite me over to play guitar with him and Brad but I ever would go. I had no idea how to play rock music lol
As dumb as this may sound, even after them getting a Grammy, I still feel like they don’t get recognized or appreciated enough, I’ve loved this band for over a decade and they’ve never received the love they deserve to.
Damn haven’t seen Matt and Brad since High School. I know those 2 guys very well! Glad they hit it big! Wish I knew how to get ahold of them. All they would need to hear is my middle name and and they would know exactly who I am. Brad still looks like Brad...but Matt has changed a lot lol

I fucking hate how when they present them up the academy plays a song THAT IS NOT THEIRS almost as if the academy is just wanting to get them up and over with?? They did the same thing for their 59th Grammy win. Playing AC/DC when they went up. Like how about playing a song from the album THEY WON?? Like and notice how the stadium isn’t even filled all the way yet?? Like the Rock category is so overlooked in the Grammys now. It’s all Pop and Rap. It’s honestly blatantly disrespectful to other genres especially Rock and Metal. Cage you deserve more ❤️
Lol... I question the existence of the note. That was definitely my favorite album last year, but the way the Grammy's go I doubt they expected to win. That said. They definitely deserved it!!!
Social Cues is a great album Tokyo Smoke is a masterpiece of a song... however out of all the albums Amo has to be the absolute best of the nominees in my opinion, very underrated with its writing and mainly is production. Anyone that thinks down on the album should give it a good weeks worth of listening through and realize it’s a work of art
All of the nominated deserves it like the cranberries, but you know what I think the Grammys put the wrong bands on this category I mean BMTH isn't a rock band or AMO isn't rock on my perspective.. but social cues is a masterpiece
Should have been on the live broadcast show. Their live show is pretty much crap anymore. Nothing but urban music. Not diverse enough. Too many performances and not enough awards handed out. Its supposed to be an award show, not mainly a live performance show.
Rival Sons was robbed blind. Their album will live forever. Most of the time the best ones never get awards for their shelf. Rival Sons, youve got major respect and new exposure. Keep it up!
if you heard Social Cues and Amo and you think BMTH should've won i really dont know what to say... i really dont, Amo has like 3 songs that could be considered rock, mantra and wonderful life stand out but besides that its literally electropop and pop rock album, it has no place under rock category
I felt (somebody on RU-vid must care 😏) Rival Sons- Feral Roots stood out. Wasn't as emo/punk as the others nominated. Awesome speech and awareness to a real problem (remember- "The Story of Chinese Farmer 👍)

Thunder i feel like they just got lazy with the categorizing. i’m a huge huge cage fan but their stuff is definitely alternative. if it was genuine rock, i’d say tool or i prevail should’ve won. sucks that their categorizing for this stuff is wack
zoe smith I whole heartedly believe that whoever votes on this stuff and categorizes these albums, has no access to the internet and listened to one song off of each project.
The Cranberries deserved this award more than any other band there. Their last record is fantastic and the Recording Academy has snubbed them for almost 30 years. Screw the Grammys! What a joke.
i’m such a huge cage the elephant fan but i think they should’ve put this one under alternative. maybe their old stuff is more rock, but it definitely is more alt now.
