Just so people know - Buchinger became a champion of the biggest MMA organization in Czechia and is widely considered one of the best featherweights in our region. His record is 39-8. And McGregor annihilated him.
@@TiZ452 its instinctual to go for the takedown since u already closer to them post-slip. better reaction example would be dodging multiple punches in a row from a quick fighter while in the pocket
@@SOUTHCRACK773bro stop trying to downplay conor mcgregor he made like half a billion dollars off of being a martial artist it’s not worth your time to even type these comments
@@user-iy3gb1sp2whes only 5'9 so conor being 145-155 does not seem outrageous. And the guy hes fighting is very good with over 30 wins and 8 losses i believe
He won two division championships at the same time… twice… in two different organizations…. In different periods of his life. Absolutely mad lad legend
that was the best I have ever seen Conor McGregor fight...what a spectacular display of skill he put on in this fight...he was out of his mind fighting in the zone...i can only imagine how that must have felt...invincible...miss that Conor
Not really. He had a lot of wasted movement in this fight and missed spinning attacks. His Alvarez fight was where he had it honed to perfection. Both solid performances nonetheless
Goddard bringing the man back from the dead yet still checking McGregor celebrating with huge admiration, he knew what this man can achieve!! Still hope for a comeback from him but the drive is gone, he made it now... for good or bad. A legend still
This McGregor checked kicks. Had cardio and good footwork. Kicked a lot and was accurate with his striking. If he ever get back to this level with good ground defense, he might be a champion again.
How can you hate McGregor? This dude took ufc to a whole another level, not even Jon Jones DC or GSP could reach that level, it wouldn’t be where it is without him.
@@mattressfan335 Honestly, it looked like Conor just threw the shot glass at the old dudes face. Not punched him. Rewatch the video and you'll see the glass bounce off his head
Regardless of the trash talk and the way he carries himself, one must admit HE IS AN ELITE STRIKER, man the accuracy and his calmness amidst the chaos unreal
If THIS conor was stll in competition he could beat anybody. His confidence in his balanced skills here are NUTS. that kick into a takedown was awesome man
@@Crysisplaya 0 title defenses. Zero. Also he had no business fighting for the belt at LW in the first place. He just skipped the line and avoided fighting his way up at LW. He would never have had the LW belt if he would have had to fight his way up, fighting Khabib on his way up for a title fight. No legacy in getting an undeserved title fight against Alvarez, Alvarez himself not even being among the top 30 LWs. But as McGregor himself said, it's just business.
Man prime Conor’s mma striking was quite frankly the best most accurate striking I’ve ever seen maybe aside from prime Anderson Silva, but in terms of hands, Conor is at the top alone. Sucks that he had to get into boxing which completely changed his style and it doesn’t seem like he has the same quick extremely accurate killer left anymore
Fun fact: Buchinger said in an interview years after the fight: “Btw, once I placed a bet on myself. And it was the fight against Conor Mcgregor. I checked him on youtube and thought - i am going to kill that guy, no way I am losing this one. So I called my friend back in Slovakia to place a hundred on me…” - it became funny story for him, Ivan seems like a super nice humble guy
And people say he isn't a wrestler the gym were Cedric doumbe train aka mcgregor gym in irland literraly said that mcgregor was the best wrestler in the gym and he is a wrestler after all
agreed, the last time i saw a performance of that calibre was anderson silva. very masterful in that fight, im very impressed by that display an i cant wait to see him this weekend hopefully fuck poirer up
TartanSpartan01 Ya he and Weidman have been my fav active fighters for a while even before Chris beat Anderson. Connor is something special though which excites the fanboy in me a lot. I like Dustin but want to see Mcgregor get that strap.
I hate all of the hype. Is he fun to watch? Sure. But skill wise he isnt EXTREMELY impressive. I don't see him having a good shot at beating Aldo. I don't think he would win against Mendes or Edgar. Both mendes and edgar could pretty easily take him down and hold him there. Mendes and Edgar both have much better footwork. Mendes is so strong, Edgar is so skilled. Aldo is both extremely strong and skilled.
***** I have been boxing for a long time as well. Competitively at that. And You are right. But its easy to get angles on stationary targets. The opponents he's faced thus far are not near the level of Aldo, Mendes, or edgar. Edgar moves WAY to much to get good angles on. Thats part of what makes him so difficult to fight. He is constantly changing direction and going in and out of range. Mendes has very good angles, and probably would match the footwork of Conor. Only Mendes has more power in his hands, and mix that in with his wrestling prowess, Conor would lose that fight. Aldo outmatches Conor in all categories.
Jack Laden I disagree.. I think he has the striking advantage against everyone in the division, his reach will be too much for mendes, Aldo is too stationary.. However as you say against Frankie it becomes much harder, he's the toughest guy in the division with the best wrestling after watching him destroy a very dangerous bjj blackbelt in Cub I wonder if Conor could do much against a guy like that, if he can't finish him by strikes or submit him in the first 2 rounds I would bet my house on Frankie...
Tom Evans Maybe youre right! Tbh, i havent watched every McGregor fight, so I really am just going off of stats and older fights. Maybe he can out strike aldo, Although I'd hardly call Aldo "Stationary". Aldo has probably the fastest feet going forward and backing up. Even faster than Frankie at times. But McGregor does only go forward and backward, he has full circle movement. If he can utilize that effectively against Aldo, I can see Conor getting an edge. But I think youre right. Frankie is a really rough match up for Conor in particular.
It's so interesting to see the different approach between 145 and 155. At 45 he just lets his oppoent hit him, because they can't faze him with their power, but at 55 he slips the punches beautifully. I mean that takedown and of course the finish, just amazing...
+Top10MetalSongs Ya thats a good point because watching him in this fight he looks unhittable but against the smaller guys he doesnt seem to care if he gets hit.
That counter left-hook is a thing of beauty. That's one of the more impressive things about Conor, he is just as good at leading as he is at counter-striking. A lot of fighters get good at one or the other. Easily one of the Top 5 best strikers in MMA's 23 year history.
That KO looked liked the one-punch the pikey threw in the movie Snatch. So awesome. Obscure reference I know, but maybe someone knows what I'm talking about?
+sam spin I think the left knee immediately before did the real damage. Buchinger kind of got punch drunk and threw an unbalanced wild kick and punch which McGregor took perfect advantage of. Fantastic set up of his knockout left.
can I get some thumbs up for the ref.....with lightening speed he knew it was over and did his job to perfection!! his reactions where as quick as the fighters,my hat is off to this ref...
The ref was quick but I think Conor wasn't going to pound the fallen opponent who was clearly out. Thumbs up to Conor for not pounding like a mad psycho like many other MMA fighters do.
r00mie completely different counter. Silva used the anchor punch and was backing up, no head movement. This one was standing in place, head movement then the counter
+Eire247 A few of the refs, Big John included, will manhandle/push a fighter if they see the downed opponent unable to defend themselves at all. They might end up tearing up a knee one of these days, so they really ought to just grab the arm, or get between them..
+Colin Max Holloway, Duffy, and even Buschinger it seems whatever fighter Mystic Mac lays hands on is forever blessed, like going into the ring against that kind of greatness changes a man. It's the irish baptism

+limerickcrime really bro?? i didnt know that guy was a 8th time world champion like ALDO
***** Most MMA commentators and journalists are ignoramuses about martial arts in general and only listen to popular trends. They also make up idiotic names for moves that already have a perfectly good name but pretend they do not exist outside of MMA.
***** I hear ya man an second it! I am so sick of judges ruling wins to stupid lay and pray rasslers. In real life the man who wins a fight is the one who is not hurt as bad as the other man. But yes its great when commentators use proper martial arts terms for moves.
CrossOut k A lot of people. What if people started calling punches kicks or something random? It matters to keep techniques understood by the general viewer. The best names for techniques are the martial arts styles terms for them.
+jackie boy Herb Dean knew Weidman would have protected his title and record at all costs, and would have wanted it to be kept going, so he would at least have a chance at protecting it in the championship rounds. That's why I think he left it go on for so long, and while unfair on Rockhold, should be given respect
Eoin Smith I've never seen Herb give any other champion that level of 'respect'. Refs are supposed to protect the fighters not let them get their head hammered in
jackie boy There's not been many circumstances where an unbeaten champion is being mauled after a silly mistake, it was only my view of it anyway... who knows why it went on so long
It turned out that the sweet-talking, tattoo-sporting pikey was a gypsy bare-knuckle boxing champion. Which makes him harder than a coffin nail. Right now, that's the last thing on Tommy's mind. If Gorgeous doesn't wake up in the next few minutes, Tommy knows he'll be buried with him. Why would the gypsies go through the trouble of explaining why a man died in their campsite when they can bury the pair of them and just move camp? It's not like they got social security numbers, is it? Tommy - the tit - is praying. And if he isn't, he fucking should be.
IMO, Conor is the poster boy for MMA. He's such a great example of what mixed martial arts is all about. I love his "no technique and no gameplan" philosophy. There's a real fluid element of creative freedom to his fighting style. He just seems to throw whatever feels right at the time... and is incredibly effective with it. Without a doubt the most exciting prospect I've seen in UFC.
Sorry but it won't last. If he ever gets near the top or becomes champ, the risk taking goes down just by its very nature. I agree he is very fun to watch though :)
Damn, McGregor is legit AF. He's the irish Anderson Silva. It's rare, that you see in men like this, that love the fight. So much so that they hate using just one, or even only two fighting styles alone. I've seen in EVERY interview Connor has had that Bruce Lee is his idol and that he can always see a situation for nearly ever fighting style, it shows. and he hates sticking to just one. But his boxing is un compatible! And his ability to make his strikes come from nearly any angle seem almost random. Makes him SO INCREDIBLY difficult too keep up with. You can see in this guys face when he starts getting intimidated, it's when he's realizing that he really cannot keep up with how many different types of strikes and kicks connor can come at him with from nearly any angle he wants. It's incredible to watch.
Mark Butler Some people are born to over-analyze things. It's called being a geek. And yes, they are MMA geeks if they are doing that, whether they'd like to admit that or not.
Mark Butler McGregor is possibly on steroids. Just observe his physique and explosiveness in Siver fight. But in the Mendes fight, his power and explosiveness disappears completely. The Mendes fight was after the new UFC drug testing methods.
+reiwell del bruce lee is an overrated hollywood fighter, only people who pay testimony to his skills were weak movie stars. he's get stomped by Conor or anyone at the top of the ufc
WesternInfantry I think you got it twisted. Hollywood only obscured what Bruce Lee was really about. You referred to him as a "hollywood fighter", which is something he never really wanted to be seen as. Roles he did not want. Read a bit more of history kiddo before you speak when adults are talking.
WesternInfantry he fought in little competitions where you have to finish an opponent under a certain time. But guess what, there was no ufc in his time. Boxing is as close as you can get to real fighting. If youre going to be so naive, dont be so critical because you sound like an idiot. Also if you didnt know Bruce developed his own martial art style, and he has taught thousands of people. You seem to be like one of those people who only get his information from the t.V. Get outta here.
***** lots of people create their own martial arts styles and variations on arts like bjj. muay thai etc. there is absolutely no evidence he would hang with the elite of the world then and especially not now. he hasnt earned the titles afforded to him
If you think like that your either gay or turned on yourself.I have been into mma since the start, and loved so many fighters, but tossing off to a fighter sounds fucking weird.I know Rogan has talked about it, but generally fans don't like rude or insulting, or delusional fighters. When Conor says he carried the UFC on his back, it sounds ever so slightly delusional, so I should say, "oh you have a strong back, you do", or do you keep it real and tell him to put his money where his mouth is. The Irish fans could be said to have carried the UFC, because if Conor didn't have a huge following, he would be another Artem, but because of his brash ways, and the fact that Ireland need any hero, he has done great, but the guy is a pratt. Selfies and a new car every month, just feels insulting to any fans. Same as Mayweather, money is everything, and it's sad. There are so many fighters doing good things for charities etc.from wages, less than 1% of your idol.I like people who give, you like people who take. The guy was on welfare 3 years ago,now he wants a piece of the UFC sale. Why isn't he thanking them for making him rich, why doesn't he try and get higher wages for others? The guy wants to take take. Cool
This was definitely McGregor's best fight. He became a two-weight champion in Cage Warriors, he showed great diversity in his striking and even a bit of ground game and he got the highlight-reel KO out cold.
