Thank you man. The guitar can seem like an endless ocean of misunderstanding.....until....you find a teacher who explains it a certain way that is compatible with an individual and his/her understanding. In short, I've tried to learn with another video and couldn't. But now I get it, so thank you, I will be subscribing now.

Good lesson on a large amount to learn. It would be nice if the print out had the note names for each form, so we could see where the root is. Of course figuring that out will be a learning experience but there is already a lot to learn without labeling the drawing. One good thing about the CDGED system v. Drop 2 is 5 forms versus 12 (4 inversions on each of three sets of strings), but the Drop 2 chords fit the common scheme of "melody", "Rhythm" and "What every bass player wants to know.", so they are easier to learn (or should be). Thanks for the lesson. (the note name and number would be nice. I know it is a lot of work and you have already done a lot but it is just an idea. One person doing it one time is better than everyone doing it. I am not suggesting you have time or it would be the best use of your time, just pointing that it is "need" to know stuff. Cheers, Harrison

@Tooks77 Hey I kinda flew through it because it is a lot easier to understand if you download the PDF that goes along with this lesson at my website. Plus RU-vid only gives me 10 mins. All of the chord forms will be there for you to print out. Just go to my main site and click on the lessons archive page. This lesson will be in the intermediate section. :)

Actually mine are Dimarzio's as well. I like them for what they are, but I am planning on going back to the original EJ single coils in the near future. :)

So would I be correct in saying: if i learned the intervals that my fingers are playing in these shapes ex: E Major 1st finger on 3rd 2nd finger on 5th 3rd finger on root That I would be playing these exact same intervals when moving up the guitar with this shape to play G,A,D,F,etc? thanks!

It's easy to assume this is and if so I think I'm heaps ahead from were i was before. but i want to clear all ambiguity before i plunge into some other rut...hehe

i see lots of different things to learn about the guitar, but my problem is what things i should learn first and what to learn after that and so on. if i had a list of all the things possible to learn on the guitar in correct order would be very helpfull

+bryan kerr I would definitely start with open chords first - i.e.- Eminor Amajor ,Aminor, Dmajor, Gmajor etc etc and getting down the fingerings of those chords and playing them cleanly

Ok, anyone noticed how this is the CAGED method, CAGED also being the notes of all of the actual major chords? When I was a noob, this is what I thought that meant.
