Love your energy and your content guys. Speaking as an Egyptian, its always best to just get a sim card at the airport, or from any of the cell phone stores (Vodafone, Orange or Etisalat). The plans are very generous and they are very cheap. 20 GB internet is about 300 EGP maybe less, or about 12-15 Dollars. So just a tip if you ever come back, so you don't have an issue with the internet there. Strongly wish you do !!!
The breakfast was fava beans stew and Falafel (the most popular breakfast in Egypt). To be honest, they usually looks much nicer that this, but it's a budget friendly place so i wouldn't expect much. Sadly, the area around the Giza necropolis developed entirely without building permits or the violation of multiple building codes over decades. It ended up as a crazy unplanned neighborhood. They are removing the majority of these buildings around the Giza necropolis, most probably they will remove these budget hotels as well in favour of more luxurious one. After all, they do have the best views.
If u don’t know what the food is..have respect atleast and that was falafel that u were banging on ur supposed to bite it and it’s soft from the inside and fried from the outside
I have made and had falafel many many times, I love it. However this one smelled so bad and was overcooked. I was not going to eat that first thing in the morning. I always respect and appreciate different cultures and foods, but this breakfast not good, that doesn't mean I don't have respect. :)
We are heading to Cairo in January! What was the hotel in Giza you stayed at and what company did you use for the pyramid tour? We are wanting to make the most out of our time there too so hopefully a tour would optimise that haha! Also did you find it hard to get a taxi without wifi or being able to call???❤❤
We stayed at Cleopatra Pyramid view hotel in Giza for the first night, it wasn’t great or very clean but the view was incredible! We decided to move to a nicer hotel for the second night. We booked our tour via GetYourGuide, they have lots of private tours. I would really recommend booking a private tour it’s much better than trying to do it yourself. ☺️ it was a challenge trying to get taxis, thankfully our tour guide took us to a few places we needed to go and then the hotel receptionist helped to book taxis. The traffic was very heavy so allow plenty of time!
