"In the moment, I was chilling". She was so comfortable in fact, that she got up after the undershirt touching, to say goodbye to her best friend who wasn't feeling well, and decided that instead of going with her sick friend back to their room, she'd rather stay with George instead, someone she knew was 8 years older than her, whom she had already been cuddling with and had the undershirt touching already happen, and went back to his arms for more the cuddling/touching. BUT, the next day, when her little friends/new acquaintances started gossiping about how she and George were cuddling and that he had touched her under her shirt, this is what happened: After being asked how she felt about it by a couple people the next day who used language like "I didn't like how touchy he was being" or "he was really touchy", she decided to save face and not look like 'that kind of girl' aka 'groupie-lite' to these people by making up a story which completely removed her agency. She did not want to admit to these people that in fact she was perfectly fine with being cuddly with a guy she knew was 8 years her senior who she had only met the day before, and even chose to stay and continue the cuddling/under shirt touching instead of leaving with her friend because she was completely comfortable that night with the situation. So Caiti changed the truth of her choosing to drink, to the lie that it was that she was made to drink. The truth that she was knowingly being flirty and cuddling with someone 8 years her senior, to the lie that it was George who took advantage of the age gap on purpose. The truth that she was enjoying being in the company of someone famous, to the lie that it was George wielding his fame/power over her. And the truth that she was enjoying her time with him and consenting to the touching/flirting back (which there is nothing morally wrong with that), to the lie that it was that George did it suddenly out of nowhere. She regretted the gossip and views the other people had about that night of her and George being cuddly/touchy feely (not one person stated that Caiti looked uncomfortable, just that the age gap / touchiness made THEM uncomfortable), and that is what drove her to fabricate the whole no consent story. Which is the other reason why she kept on reiterating about it being 'in front of everyone' and even made the outlandish claim in her third version, that it would have been better if it happened when they were alone. It wasn't because she was uncomfortable that people were watching, it was that those that saw, gossiped about it later, and felt put into a position where she either had to admit she was 'that kind of girl' that they wouldn't approve of (especially with George), or concoct a lie which removes her agency (free will completely). It is literally the modus operandi of every false accuser - they feel a real harm or threat from a third party (ex. friend catches you cheating with a married man, so will think you are a home wrecker), so they make up a story to remove their agency (ex. that actually it was not consensual, but rape).

Spot on. What’s crazy is, I can understand lying about things because of what people may think, but I can’t wrap my head around why you would make consistent criminal allegations toward another person. Like, you’d ruin another life just to maintain an image? We’re bordering psychopathy here. I really think it all comes down to HER FRIENDS. She was initially fine with everything. Then, after talking to a friend, she didn’t know how to feel about things. Then after more talks with friends, she’s been manipulated, groomed, and assaulted… she’s young, dumb, and malleable, and her friends made her a victim through inception. PLUS, it’s like a weird badge of honor now to be a victim who speaks for other victims, and she’s thrilled by that concept. It’s been her motivation from the beginning, constantly claiming she’s a voice for the voiceless.
@whatwhowhenzo
@whatwhowhenzo 3 месяца назад
@@OhShiverMeTimbers She also planned to do two pity videos before she did the George "first version of story' stream. One about her ulcerative colitis diagnosis, and one on her mental illness she has had for years (plural) as per the last few minutes of her stream she did the month before her George "first version" stream, so she was clearly craving the pity attention and when the Shubble thing came out, I think that is when she was like, yes, this is my time. Her stream that was one month prior to the George first version stream is a good way to get a picture of her character. In it she is almost manicly happy, and spends so long just going over her old tiktoks and talking about how famous she used to be. I believe that she is a very disturbed individual who craves the attention she had in the past, had her music fail, had her little short film fail, was getting low views, and decided to create a lie about a consensual event to save face with her friends, which she them published on twitch with the most damaging of word choices possible, in order to regain the fame she thinks she deserves.
@OhShiverMeTimbers
@OhShiverMeTimbers 3 месяца назад
@@whatwhowhenzo She’s definitely disturbed and she loves that spotlight. In the second stream she was painfully overacting. It was so clear that she wanted to be seen, and seen a certain way. The inflection, the faces she made when she spoke, none of it matched with the emotions she claimed she had. It was literally like an actor at an audition that doesn’t fully understand the tone of the scene. It’s kinda funny that she claimed “this isn’t the kind of attention anyone wants” and yet it’s exactly what she wanted. She wanted to stand on a soapbox and get praise from victims and everyday people alike. It just backfired 🤷🏻‍♂️

Her friends are as much to blame (if not more) for not only not telling her she exaggerated what actually happened but by validating her claims. What's most frustrating is that she just won't view this at ground level. Probably every attempt by any person to make her touch grass is "just hate" in her eyes. People try to tell you that your view on this situation is out of proportion and quite frankly: insane. Not to hate on you, but for the sanity of both, you and George. Everyone can agree that she might have bad feelings about it but claiming the "sa-victim card" and framing someone as a predator, when the control was in your hands the whole time, you gotta be out of your mind.

Not saying you can't be 'okay' (or rather SEEM to be okay) afterwards but it's kinda curious to me how she was totally fine having friendly and flirty banter with him months after and now she's like 'I FROZE I WASN't ABLE TO MOVE' like girl bffr.

This entire situation makes me so angry and annoyed. When I was 18 I made the incredibly idiotic decision to hang out with a 26 year old man under the pretense that It was just to hang out and smoke weed. The difference between me and her is that I continuously communicated I was uncomfortable and for him to stop touching me and he didn’t listen. He actually did try and convince me to get drunk but I knew I would be fucked if I chose to do that, because I recognized I was in an actually dangerous situation. Being forced down against ur will when saying no under the influence is so so fucking scary. It fucks with me still. And she tries and frame a regret into that trauma. She wants to make it seem like she’s a victim in this, that she was more vulnerable than she was. But she had all the chances in the world to express her discomfort. And I doubt she was really uncomfortable in the moment. I understand the concept of “freezing up” because that’s what initially happened with me before I actually said “no” but I wasn’t cuddling with anyone. I wasn’t laughing and smiling. I was staring off into space and trying not to cry. God, why does everyone want to be a fucking victim. Starting shit over nothing. I never even reported what happened to me because of how messy it can get, and there not being enough proof. And she’s willing to destroy someone’s career over something she regretted later. This is why victims aren’t taken seriously. This is why people don’t report what happened. Because lying about this stuff creates a general distrust when an actual victim chooses to speak out My bad for trauma dumping in ur comment section 😭 I’m not tryna garner sympathy it’s just infuriating to see someone try and spin a situation into something else entirely, and for what? Clout!?

These were special firsts for her and for him she was just another one. That’s why she feels embarrassed and angry at him. And maybe her online besties helped turn this into something it wasn’t but I think deep down she just wanted an equally memorable negative impact on him. She had a year to work through this and she still decided to be a fool. Here’s what these kids get wrong about “feelings are valid”. It means you’re gonna feel what you do whether or not you’re at fault because you’re human. Feelings being valid doesn’t mean they’re a reflection of the truth. Doesn’t mean anyone has to fix those for you. All it means is you don’t ignore them. You internally work through them.

And I think there is an discussion we could have had about feling presured to do sexual things and set boundaries. because todays society is promoting it so heavy. I have done a lot of things I didn’t like because I thought I had to like it as a woman. I do not blame the men, it’s not there fault that I hadn’t been told that it’s okay to not like everything regarding sex.And I think a lot of men feel the same. But it’s not sexual asult, and it frustrates me that she didn’t bring it up like an interaction she regretted because she didn’t stand up for her self. Silence doesn't automatically mean consent is such an annoying argument because it may be true but silence also doesn't automatically mean it's a rejection. If there is no verbal consent and someone makes a move you are responsible for speaking up for yourself at that point and making it clear you are rejecting the advance, you can't just give no verbal consent, then flirt and cuddle and then say nothing when there's a move made and THEN say you were assaulted after the fact because they had no way of knowing you didn't want it. According to him (and presumably Dream, the cry stream was about this) the text message she showed from his friend saying that it was weird George was cuddling with an 18 year old really shocked him and made him feel bad. So he was apologising for flirting with an 18 year old (so yes, many would say for nothing). But then his friend told him that the message wasn't from him and he thought everything was normal that night, Caiti also got his movements wrong. Dream also presented extra evidence supporting George and being on his side behind the scenes. So George kind of took back his apology, because it was over a false claim and presented like it was a blanket admission, which wasn't his intention. But he's still sorry Caiti had a bad night and is upset.

What is it with this current trend of acting like 18 means you’re a minor? If I was George and I saw this I’d have just said “you’re 18, stfu.” And that’d be it.

Holy shit, just watched the papa gut archive channel for the first time, and it’s hard to watch. I don’t know if you realize how dramatic your change has been these past few years, but it’s been for the best. I’ve loved watching this channel and respect your takes, so I thought I’d look at your older content too, and damn you matured a lot. They were hard to watch. But hey keep killing it man, I respect your change a lot

I totally agree with papas stand point but I also need to point oit- Maybe I'm confused but??? The creator in question is a near 30 year old man who was drinking and being sexually suggestive with someone whom he wasn't even sure if they were 18 or not-?? Is this somewhere 18 is the drinking age? If not, regardless of if he knew she was actually 18 (which I believe it's stated that he didn't know she how old she was at all due to her profile?) Why was he drinking with someone who's not legally able to? Are we all just gonna ignore that factor of this situation-??

George's defense is that he assumed Caiti was 21+ because there was a picture of her with a 21+ wristband on that she stole to sneak into a party at the convention. Plus, he was not the one to invite her and her friends to Dream's hotel room, I'm pretty sure that was Dream himself, but I could be remembering wrong? Also the group was drinking before even showing up to the room, he had no reason to think she was underage drinking or under the age of 21 in general. (That's the stance at least)

@@theskypingsquid264 Caiti never wore the wrist band, but her friends that were with her did on the same night of the "assult" did. Therefore leading George to believe that everyone was as of age to drink, so either way he still has a valid argument.

Two other comments have explained so all I'll say is that while the event was in America I'm pretty sure, George is British so he's probably much more lax when it comes to the drinking age of America. You can feel how you want about that but honestly if you're 18 I don't care if you drink.

Got to be honest but that Shelby person seems 10x worse than this girl. At least she has the excuse of age but Shelby engaged in the same BS and has tried to turn it into an advocate career change.

I think it is very important to call out people making false allegations, because yes as you said, it works to discredit those who are coming forward truthfully. One false allegation can undo the true ones for the next 20 people who come forward. HOWEVER, I think it's very important how it's done. Many people I've seen cover this story are doing more than just pointing out her inconsistencies and even just her lies. Saying things like "you weren't assaulted, you were tickled" discredits real victims. ANY unwanted touching is assault. Saying "you chose to go to this party, you chose to drink, you chose to go to his hotel room" discredits real victims. Sneaking into a party to drink and going to someone's hotel room are NOT consent. Saying "you were drunk but so was he" is discrediting real victims. Being drunk is not consent. I think you bring up a good point about there not being enough discussion around men who also can't consent in these situations, and I don't think agreeing to sex while drunk is enough to constitute a crime, but there is definitely some sensitivity to be had. Saying "you were 18, this was legal" discredits real victims. Being of a certain age isn't consent. Saying that there wasn't a power imbalance also discredits real victims. Again, an interesting point being made with "the power of being a nobody" but someone who is not only older, but has a large platform - people are absolutely cowed by that kind of thing and it makes them more easy to take advantage of. It happens ALL the time. The age difference does also matter. It's more than just "cringe" to be a 26 year old seeking the attention of an 18 year old. I'm not going to assume intent about George, as I think enough of that has been done, and honestly I think he was genuinely doing what he thought was acceptable. But there are 25+ yr olds who are particular to younger people (usually women) who are naive and inexperienced and don't know what is or isn't acceptable. So the focus on her age and being "a legal adult" is discrediting to real victims. Saying "well this is what happens when you flirt (before and/or after)" is discrediting real victims. Flirting is not consent. And in fact, it's INCREDIBLY common for victims of assault and rape to return to their perpetrators after the fact seeking validation. Again, it is right to call her out and try to make it clear that false allegations will not fly, but I think it's just as important to not feed into the same narratives that keep people from coming forward in general. There is no "perfect victim" and saying you can't be a good victim if you're: of age, flirting with someone, drinking when you shouldn't be, going to hotel rooms, etc isn't doing anything to push things in the right direction. She was in the wrong. In reading what she said, I do think she was uncomfortable with what happened that night and really didn't know how to stop it, but I don't think that means that what happened was in any way malicious on George's part. I don't think it's worthy of accusations, I think she should have tried to have a conversation with him so he can maybe be more aware in future. I know that you have personal experience with this subject and don't take it lightly, but I just think it would be good to be more mindful of how you are discussing it so as to not make it harder for REAL victims to come forward in the future. And it isn't just you, I've seen these talking points float around for just about everyone talking about it. I think people mix their hostility towards her with their feelings about what actually happened.
