Yep. I kept screaming at the TV watching CC standing wide open in the 4th quarter on several occasions and NO ONE was paying any attention to her. I mean seriously? What the fuck is going on with this team sometimes?!?
Does anyone wonder why CC seems to disappear in the 4th quarter? The coach takes the ball away from her, gives to Erica Wheeler, and parks Clark on the other side of the court! Is Clark tired and they’re resting her? She got 15 pts and 9 assists in the first half tonight and 5 and 4 in the second. So the coach changes the formula that got them a 31 point lead. Coaching malpractice? It’s the same game after game!
The coach was trying to save her. She fad 6 turnovers. 1 more she would have tied 3rd all time. 2 more she would have tied 2nd all time. 4 more she ties first all time.
I think she is a little bit tired coz you can see it when she missed an open three but Sides should make a timely substitution for her to rest. CC is doing everything on the floor especially in the 1st half.

It’s been a long long time since I played bball, but the 2-1-2 zone the Mercury used at the end of the 3rd quarter thru the 4th was pretty is to defeat, but Sides didn’t do anything to adjust. The Mercury just focused on CC. I think CC finally just followed her own instincts and fended off the Mercury and defeated the zone they were playing. I’m happy the Fever won but shouldn’t have slowed the pace once their lead shrank to 20 pts. Wheeler should not be on the floor with Clark, and she needs to play less minutes like less than 5 minutes ideally. Between CC and EW who do trust to get down the floor, push the pace, make a good, quick decision and score / assist and get back down the court ready for a stop. It’s CC not EW that I trust to get the job done.
@ThinkItMapIt the 2-1-2 zone is easy to beat with cuts to the basket and getting people in the paint. It leaves your corners wide open for 3 pointers usually. If not your point can hit layups especially last night when mercury at that point were playing small. One time out and we would have been breaking that zone...especially if the 3 and 4 could knock down any 3. Which last night katie lou and hull couldn't hit anything... it's not like they didn't have wide open 3's lol wheeler is Clark's kryponite. I've said it from the start. She's the only one beating Clark this year. Clark is a ball dominant guard like a Steve nash. She could be a steph curry like guard coming off multiple screens but the problem is she has 2 guards in wheeler and Mitchell that once they get it they aren't passing it back to CC. Mitchell had 0 assists last night at the 2...that's hard to pull off lol
Don’t leave out Nalyssa Smith….her rebounding and running the floor for layups matters along with Lexie Hull for the defense…she wasn’t having such a good game this time but she definitely should be in the 5th spot and just needs more floor time and to work on her fundamentals during their Olympic break. Same goes for the rest of the team. AB needs to work on her footwork under the basket so she doesn’t get the calls for traveling and fouls, smith needs to work on her free throws and 3pt game be be more of a threat, if AB can also work on her 3pt game she would become a true contender to go up against the Aja of the league especially in a couple years, Katie Lou and Mitchell need to work on their fundamentals to be more a threat so that the defense can get lowered on Clark, if they keep so much pressure on Clark they will make them pay leaving them all open. Then if they can bring in some free agents to replace Wheeler, Wallace, Saxton and even Grace at this point with players like Julie Vanderloo (3pt shooting), DiJonai Carrington (Defense), Tina Charles (Mentor for AB and can very much still play and better then both Dantas and Victaria) and make sure they sign and keep Temi (her defense but more so she is the heart and soul of this team). Then with their draft picks if they can get someone like a Tehina Paopao they could very much become a championship contender next year for sure. They could easily do it this year but for that to happen they need to get rid of the coach today. She all but almost lost the game on purpose today by putting in Wheeler for as much as she did and taking the ball out of CCs hands. Coaches literally have said they sceme to find ways to get the ball out of CCs hands in order to win and here the Fever coach does it for them every single time and puts in their worst player who goes when they are up by 30 and brings it down to a 9pt game being -16 on the floor having played only 8:34 minutes but that’s all it took to loose their 30pt lead and make sure that CC didn’t break the all time franchise assist record.
Those three are absolutely a good core. I think Hull is almost there, if she starts adding her 3 pt shot to her defense side. NylSmith... She is mostly good, but then just dribbles the ball out of bounds for no reason. It's weird.

Something happened in this game during the 2nd quarter which shut CC down. I saw Sides grab CC by the arm as she was walking away from her and CC was off the rest of the game. You could see it in her face. Don't know what is going on but something is up.
Sides blew the lead by putting Wheeler in and taking the ball out of her hands… then took zero responsibility at the postgame interview. Coach Sides needs to be fired!!!
I had the same thought. There is no way anyone can be this incompetent after so much backlash. I’m now convinced she is purposely trying to throw the game. Why?
She could not figure out how to attack that zone in the 4th. They basically left Wheeler open but attack Clark when she gets ball. Wheeler refuses to shoot multiple times when she was open from CC passes.
@@Joshua-me1wi they over passed too much trying to be cute! Boston and Smith does the most aggravating things ever when they get pass inside. They always have to do some kind of move, most of the time dribble or fakes but all that does is give defenders time to recover or help to come over. All they have to do most of the time is just simply, shoot as soon as they get the ball. Mitchell still has butter fingers! 🤷♂️

Boston's passing from the blocks is getting nasty. Her footwork when she has the ball is becoming a very nice dance. She is not only running the court, but tracking things as she does so. Boston is coming of age.
that caitlin playmaking / passes were masterclass. if fever stay consistent like this and finish stronger in games, they are scary. at the same time, exciting and fun to watch. lets go fever!
I'd like to offer my services to the Fever as Coach. I have zero experience, but I can hire assistants for that mundane stuff. I pledge to play the best player groups that fit the needs and make the right time outs. This I believe automatically makes me better than the current head coach. I can start now.
Kelsey is hot or cold, she's getting wide open shots without a defender anywhere near her because they're so focused on CC. The only thing about KM that ticks me off is that she will never return the favor on the rare occasion when CC is open. She's more focused on her scoring stats than an overall team win.

They lost the 31 point lead by the lack of enthusiasm from the coach!! It transfers over to the players. Sides has got to chill on Caitlin. Caitlin will make sure they lose if Sides keeps her BS up!!!
One you tuber who watch live said he saw Caitlin very frustraded with Sides and they were arguing. Maybe Sides told her to stop shooting the ball, she was about to make a franchise record again and Sides stop it.

The Fever won on a great 1st half, but that game sucked. Phoenix wasn't even playing most of their starters. The minute the Fever stop pushing the ball and go into the lazy half-court offense, it's like the whole team goes brain dead and everything turns to shit. I don't know if Sides slows down the offense to hold on to the lead or the players just get gassed. But man, it gets ugly at times. It's like watching 2 different teams. No one is penetrating, just standing around the perimeter waiting for someone else to make a play. Missed bucket after missed bucket. Shot clock running out. Turnover after turnover. Caitlin had several chances to break the Fever single game assist record later in the game but Lexi Hull misses a layup, a 3 pointer, Smith misses a 5 footer, Boston misses a 7 footer. Phoenix went on a 29-4 run after the Fever where up 31. I mean, how the hell does that happen? Can no one on this team motivate each other when this shit goes on?
It's stunning the way they get the ball back down to their end after opponent scores. That transition is so beautiful between Clark, Boston, Mitchell, Smith, Samuelson. Awesome passing and assists converting to scores - not 100%, but really good!
Any Coach knows you play the best players but you don't take the ball out of your best players hand. CC could have broken the assist record tonight but Sides took the ball out of her hands, that's just bad coaching. Sides knew CC was close when she did it and it was intentional.
Clark's biggest problem is that she's too unselfish and is always looking to set up a teammate rather than take the shot herself. I'm hoping she sees this and takes over more. Half the time, they bobble the passes anyhow or brick the wide open shots. Their 3 point shots were horrible tonight.
The Fever hit the brakes thinking they had the game won and blew it. And Caitlin went into "distribute" mode to appease teammates. This was a 30 pt game for her and she should have kept dominating the ball - still distribute, but she passed up open 3's and shots she would have taken earlier in the game. She needs to keep the killer instinct going instead of appeasement.
The WNBA is on notice alright . That Christie Sides and Erica Wheeler will give the opposing team the best chance to come back for a win if you are behind .

The fever were doing pretty good with turnovers until certain players tried to pass out of their character. Up 20 I get try everything but get back to what works late in the fourth. Looking forward to this team growing. I’m all in again since the Shock had 3 championships.

This coach is so bad. She completely destroyed the flow of this game when Wheeler came in the game in both quarters. Once again CC dribbles the ball to half court, throws the ball to whoever and goes stand in the corner. This should have been 30+ points and 18+ assist. CC and Wheeler cannot coexist on the court at the same time.
The Fever offense completely fell apart in the 4 th qtr, 1/2 court game with Wheeler at the point. No points or assists from Clark during this time. The team managed only 14 points in the 4th qtr.
Wheeler is an okay player and a nice person, but she can't be on the court with CC. She can't play up tempo...if you put them together, CC gets frustrated

Christie Sides is a female version of Darvin Ham. His favoritism of DLo is comparable to Sides's favoritism of Wheeler. They also make same stupid plays (or not at all) & untimely substitutions that ruin the momentum of the team. I get it now how frustrating it was to be a Lakers fan. 😂
