heres the thing. paige likely doesnt stop caitlin with her defense. but the same can be said the other way around. and it wouldnt suprise me if paige gets her in foul trouble and that stops her. @@danpals7678

Oh man, that was good. Especially for Iowa fans. LSU is super tough. Flau Jae has been on fire lately! Angel Reese had an outstanding first half. Probably doesn't help she hurt her ankle. They showed great sportsmanship, which was really nice to see. Obviously I'm so glad Iowa was able to move on to the Final Four. I really hope this is our year and Caitlin can end her college career with all the boxes check. She works harder than anyone and deserves this. I'm considering driving to Cleveland to catch it unfold in person, but have a lot going on, so we shall see!

The refereeing was top notch. There were some banging & fouls fairly allowed on both sides. It was clean fundamentally sound basketball defensively & offensive overall . They allowed these Ladies to play ball & made calls when obvious. Caitlin was a juggernaut!!!

Caitlin was the NCAA highest scorer in the highest of college basketball, scoring almost 4000 points in her four years of college basketball. Near to every game was double double, and with 30 points or more, Caitlin had a 60-point game, and when you add her assists to the score, she damm near played by herself because every point on the board was made by Caitlin, I can't remember if they won, but it was a close match, something like 76 - 74, so she scored personal 61 or 62, and the rest in assists, and Dino said Caitlin would not survive in the WNBA because she's not built for the physicality of the WNBA, it's a shame that they didn't say that to Angel Reese, because she thought it would be easy for her, but you can see the difference between college basketball and league basketball, if you're in the paint it gets very physical, and Angel could not handle it, ok she got double doubles to the detriment of the team, Angel was greedy for her doubles and didn't pass the ball, and coach Witherspoon should have taken her out and replaced her, Angel should not have been a starter, but chasing the ROTY was the biggest mistake Witherspoon made trying to get that title not just for Angel but the team, Caitlin has proven team play is the only way, with the trust and respect from everyone on the team, you can win, when you put all the stats together of all those who have played in the WNBA and NCAA championships, Caitlin has broken every record they made in college and in the WNBA, only A'ja Wilson has a new record, and that's the 1000 points plus scored in one season, but Caitlin and her points plus assists have beaten A'ja Wilson's points and assists, so who is the MVP really and not just ROTY, those that voted have forgotten what MVP stands for, you have to look at the whole picture not just the stats. 😊
I feel bad for Hailey bro. She was being made a mockery off online but if you look at Clark's points, she only scored 16 of them on Van Lith 😂 it's just that she scored the first 2 buckets on her where she played bad defense and then people started saying she was getting cooked but the 2nd half all the buckets Clark dropped on her where contested step backs from 28 feet. Nothing Hailey could do or anybody else on LSU who tried to guard her. But Hailey was getting shitted on like CRAZY, hopefully she stayed off social media.
Honestly her transferring made absolute sense to me. She’s a 2, pure scorer and honestly we didn’t put her in the greatest position to succeed. What I was saying is that although the numbers may not support it, she became an overall better player coming to LSU in that her playmaking and defense has improved and wherever she ends up she’ll be back to the 18-20+ ppg scorer she was in Louisville

I'm not one of those who thinks CC has to win a natty to cement her legacy; but Lord Gawd A' Mighty it would be nice. Do you hope Angel comes back, or would you like to see her in the next year? I'm looking forward to seeing her, CC, Brink, Rickea, Cardoso all coming into the league this year; gonna draw a lot of new eyes to the league.
I’m with you , Caitlin definitely doesn’t NEED a chip to cement it but I feel like that definitely puts the icing on the cake similar to curry winning FMVP against Boston 2 years ago. Personally I’d like Angel back for 1 more yr , I just want her to take the off season and really refine her game (add a reliable 15-18 foot middy, work on her footwork etc). I’m definitely excited to see Brink, Jackson Cardoso and CC for sure, game changers for the W and even the faces already in the league are set up for some great matchups against the younger players.
What people don't realize about Iowa is how they play at the fastest pace out of everyone in the country. They tire teams out. Even an athletic team like LSU was GASSED trying to keep up with Iowa's pace by the 4th quarter. People don't realize this. And they don't seem to get too tired often, Clark played all 40 minutes
Exactly what I was saying. Iowa is an amazing transition offense and the fact that LSU runs 7-8 players it only set up for fatigue to play a major factor down the stretch
One of the comments from the coaches and Iowa players was that because of the pace of the game, the LSU women were clearly gassed, sucking wind. That contribiuted to the fast stsrt of Iowa in the 3rd, but the poor shooting in the 2nd half and mounting fouls. Getting fatigued will do that too you. LSU looked good running the floor in the 1st half, but the larger players it has a cumulative effect as the game goes on.
That’s a fact. Iowa has been a great transition offense all year and LSU only runs 7-8 or so many players, fatigue definitely played a major part. I also feel like the offensive execution by LSU was poor it was too predictable but Iowa simply played better and that’s why they’re playing tonight

This game went exactly as I expected. LSU is big but too slow for Caitlin and Iowa. Also, knowing how competitive she is I knew that she had a bit of a chip on her shoulder. LSU can't shoot. Angel gets lots of rebounds but most of those are her own or her teams misses. Go Hawks!

Uhhh....the reason people bring up pistol pete not having thr 3 point line isn't because "he was a great 2 point shooter who would have adjusted and stepped out to 3 point distance and been great there too." No, the reason they bring it up...is because he WAS shooting from BEYOND 3 point range at a high percentage ALREADY. Those shots just didn't count as 3, because there was no official line. That is a BIG distinction. One that heavily backs up the people arguing for him.
Omg…I’m a SC fan and I was yelling at the TV….why is hailey on Caitlin?!?! Flaujae is the defensive stopper and should’ve been on her. Gotta get in Caitlin’s face and disrupt her vision. When Flaujae was switched to Caitlin, she struggled a bit. Paige will guard her and you’ll see the difference. She may get 30 but won’t be near as efficient as today.
My thoughts exactly. I get the foul trouble but the way I see fouls is that they can frustrate an offensive player, if flaujae guards her from 0:00 to 40:00 then those fouls could’ve been used better guarding Caitlin. But I do agree paige is gonna play great D and there will be a clear difference

looks like they were playing a 2 - 3 zone 19:05 so reese is where she supposed to be, they should be in a 3 - 2 zone or box and 1 to help shutdown the 3 point. thats the coaches fault
Van Lith made some very bad shots in the last quarter. The shots were selfish from Van Lith. This was my first NCAA game I watched. Reese was on the rebound hunt. Amazing! Such a great game!
One of the best games of the tourney! HVL wasn’t in her element this season it sucks she never was able to adjust but maybe it’ll change with TCU. As for Angel, best rebounder in the league !
My motto is that you can’t “stop” a star player, all you can do is slow them down, force tough shots and make the others win. And LSU didn’t do any of that lol Caitlin just did what she does and that’s why LSU lost
In a way that’s a dimension of her game that is unique to her, I wouldn’t go so far as to name her a “point forward” but she does have great vision and decent ball handling for a post player. But the pumpfaking I definitely agree with, it goes hand in hand with footwork and a lot a players neglect that part of the game
She should’ve been the primary defender, I fw poa and HVL but cmon now since freshman year she’s proven to be the best perimeter defender on the roster

LSU's shooting really drooped in the 2nd half. The pace was insane. Tired legs maybe played a part. But the rebounding! They fought so hard on the boards. Much respect to LSU.
