To draft a generational superstar like Caitlin Clark and not build a team designed to exploit her talents is simply basketball malpractice.

Yeah, they definitely need to change the entire philosophy of the team. This entire team needs to fit Caitlin Clark's play style.

Look how CC is slowly winning veterans over and proving her talent. Just look at the face and reaction from Jonquel Jones to CCs pass to AB just 10 seconds into the 2nd quarter of the AllStar game. Watching her reaction is awesome. Jonquel looked AMAZED!!

After tuning in a couple of months ago, a few things jumped out at me. 1. The league as a whole, has lead in their sled. Solution: run more, run faster, and jump higher. 2. Falling and laying on the floor. Solution: get up and run. 3. Finding and waving down referees. Solution: get better referees. 4. Too much telegraphing. Solution: plan ahead and execute. Surely there’s more, but this would be a start.

Once CC stops shooting like Bronny James from 3 she's going to be unstoppable. I've watched her 3 years at Iowa and I've never seen her in this much of a slump.

For crying out loud, until there is a coach to handle the existing talent, why even talk about bringing in anyone to ruin their game also. It is not the damn team. There is only self motivation pushing this group.

If CC can't get out of the Fever, the only solution is to get rid of Sides. But Grandma Lin Dunn won't fire Sides and the ownership won't fire Dunn. So, CC needs AB now.

The craziest thing about Sides is that had she coached that WNBA Allstars team she would bench Arike after her first 10 points and "slow down" the game.

The WNBA is trying and succeeding in making Caitlin Clark an "assist" player for everyone else. "Give the ball up Caitlin and go stand in the corner." I have no interest in watching anymore of this nonsense. The NBA must drop the WNBA from their payroll. Only then could CC get proper respect in that trash league.

It would be neat to see Caitlin and Hannah teaming up again. And why not make Kate Martin an offer she can't refuse?

For a home grown midwestern superstar who wants to stay in the Midwest, she definitely seems to be wanted least by both midwestern WNBA teams. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory seems to be catching there.

It’s not so much the motor as it is their conditioning… Boston started out of shape and looked pathetic but played her way into shape and starts to dominate. The first thing to go when a player is out of shape is their shot which helps to explain Hull & Samuelson.

Caitlin and Boston are basically together next year. Satou Sabally should try to get on the Fever. They have Smith, Hull, Berger, Wallace, and can match Temi's contract next year. With Satou, that would be 8 players. They'll have at least 1 pick in the top 6 this draft. The options are: PG: Olivia Miles. Sellers. SG: Paige or Sitron. F: Kiki or Morrow. C: Momonga or Lee You probably won't be seeking a PG at 5'9 or less, so there's no point in getting these small PGs or undersized SGs since you can pick up any "player" to play backup for 4 minutes for Clark. Sims can join the team in the free agency if needed. If they need a player for a guard, they can get Sellers, Sitron, or Paige in the draft. They'll probably not find a top forward in the draft though. Lee or Momonga will likely be available around the top 6 draft selections--I would probably draft one of them for INDY. Having options all over the floor will help them a lot. PG - Clark C - Boston F - Sabally Is a perfect trio to build around. You can then do whatever you want with the G position by resigning Mitchell or signing someone like Carrington for the future. Either one will help out long term. All that is left is getting a good Center in the draft or getting a player in free agency like Nneka + drafting a future player to replace the one year rentals at the F or Center position. If I was IND, I'd draft Lee or Momonga (if they were present) and then build towards those players. If not, then draft Sellers or Sitron for the future. Sabally would fill the needs for the team better than any draft player anyway. Smith is only really useful as a backup Big nowadays, so unless you can get some defensive guard like Carrington in the off-season, I wouldn't keep Smith longer than the next season. Draft a future replacement if you can or get a future SG that pairs well next to Clark like Sitron or Sellers. They can make do with any player they pickup in free agency at the Forward position--especially if they decide to upgrade their overall roster in the defensive department.

Aerial Powers, really competitive, can run, an excellent option off the bench or even a fifth starter depending on what’s available.

Raven Johnson is like Celeste Taylor but shorter and not a scorer either. 🤷‍♂️

I remember the men's college team, Houston. They were fast and dunked all day could not make free throws. The NC State coach slowed the game down by fouling the players on Houston and they missed every free throw. N C State won the National College Championship thanks to Coach Valvano (RIP) doing that scheme in the second half. Houston of Phi Slama Jamma lost, brilliant by Valvano.

Mick, I do like your suggestions. Unfortunately CC is stuck with Lin Dunn and Sides. Linn Dunn has showed no interest in supporting anyone on this team other than Sides. I think Lin Dunn was forced to take CC because her probable No 1 choice was Bueckers. Bueckers stayed but it seems like Dunn built this team for Bueckers. A half court team with very little speed.

It's pretty basic. .. 1) huge motor, 2) fast feet (good foot work), 3) good hands (can catch) 4) dynamic flexibility mind, 5) athletic defender, and 6) willing to do ANYTHING needed to win. The rest is irrelevant. Take speed over size everyday all day. Frankly most of the WNBA is useless on a CC team.

IMO, the Fever’s biggest personnel need is a spot-up small forward who can hit wide-open 3 pointers, run the floor, and play good defense. We couldn’t get her away from Phoenix, but Natasha Cloud would be a great addition, very versatile and good defensively.

Allisha Gray is free after the season. I’m not a Fever fan but that is definitely the player they should be after. Draft-wise, that girl for France, I can’t remember her name, that plays center-forward. She’s long an athletic. A younger, taller more skilled version of Temi. That girl’s going to be a monster. She’ll probably go second behind Paige so the Fever would need a lottery pick or to make a massive trade. Citron for Notre Dame would be good. I have a feeling Raven is going to the Sky and Paige, hopefully, to L.A. The Wings are going to be a dangerous team after the break with Satu and Siegrist returning to the lineup so they may not qualify for the lottery. The Mystics either.

Hey... Suggestion: This would usually be covered after the season. But with the month off could you cover... 1. the expansion draft, who the FEVER will protect, who the Fever could lose, what big names in WNBA MIGHT not be protected, what big names might end up on the new team, will any team lose multiple players? 2. Any big names or important pieces may the FEVER pick up in FA? 3. How big an impact will the 7'3+ Chinese girl have on the WNBA, YOU Mentioned run and gun, which is the prescription at beating the Chinese girl... The more impact she has, IMO the more important a showtime type offense would be and the more important guard play will be. Big players will need to play taller than they traditional have ans standing flatfooted and reaching up for rebounds would end, girls would need to learn to jump to compete for rebounds which they dont always do now.

Good points about motor. Case in point is AB. Early in the season, I made a comment that she was slow and had hands of stone. But!!! AB has improved dramatically in the last 6 weeks. Her footwork in the paint is WAAAY better, she is now fielding the passes that she fumbled before and she is much closer to keeping up with the pace that CC sets. CC + AB is potentially a GREAT pairing and both players would have major contributions. Stockton + Malone???

If Azzi has a healthy year I would take her with 7 before anyone else you have mentioned. Morrow is not the one, she is a lot like Smith and I just don't see that being the answer. Azzi is a fantastic shooter and a very good defender. Her only negative is can she have a healthy year.

Sides isn't going anywhere, especially, if the team makes the playoffs because that'll only strengthen Dunn's resolve to keep her. I think the only way you can get a new coach is if the owner steps in and fires Sides. Unforatunely given how attached Dunn is to Sides, you may end up losing her too, but it's a risk you'd have to take. Personally, I think if you're going to replace Sides, and possibly Dunn too, then you're going to need to do it early as possible, so you can find people to replace them immediately before it's too late.

Only problem is we know Herb is not serious. As the owner who drafted one of the most popular athletes of all time. Has anyone seen this guy? Has he shown any enthusiasm?

However much I'm liking the AB/CC duo I have to say Hannah Steulke is the perfect teammate for CC.

Seems like Chicago Sky is a place that free agents do not want to go historically. Seems like Indiana is not that far behind. Can CC get players to come play with her. Will Lin Dunn even ask CC to place phone calls to free agents. It is not tampering during free agency. Other than Clark and Boston, Indiana has nothing else to offer. Most team have similar money.

Reese would actually be perfect on the Fever at forward. They would be contenders almost immediately with a couple more 3&d vets with jets.

Players that are realistic and available through UFA/RFA in 2025 (Not including players like Stewart/Sabally/etc.. Because they will not come to Indiana): UFA: Sophie Cunningham Aerial Powers Nneka Ogwumike (Might not be realistic if Seattle does well in playoffs this year) Alysha Clark (Still a decent defender, vet, can knock down the 3 even though she's getting toward the end of her career) RFA (Harder to get, but still possible): DiJonai Carrington (I think this is unrealistic because I don't think Conn. will let her leave) Resign Temi if you can at an equivalent or cheap deal since she's been injured a lot of this year, I think she's a great player to have with CC though. In my view if you are trying to get anything else for the 2025 season, it's going to have to be from getting into the draft or making an actual trade deal.

I don't think Arike would be a good fit for CC. We saw her dominate in one game, but she plays very selfish basketball. She just happens to be very good at it. I may be wrong, but I don't think she would conform to CC's type of basketball.

"If he's even, he's leaving". All you have to do is get one or two players even with the defenders on fast breaks and it's game over. They cannot defend it and just like a QB to wideout the ball is placed where ONLY the teammate can get it. Free Buckets.

Didn't you just have a video the other day in which you said that under the upcoming CBA, the players may be able to rip up their contracts and become free agents? If that is the case, the Fever may not even have CC22. I doubt that will happen, but if it did, it would be the most exciting event in sports.

Good motor and good hands. Kelsey Mitchell has a motor but she has trouble catching the ball in transition. Nalyssa, they should get rid off. She's a half-court set player. In the All-Star game Caitlin only had 2 TO even if she had 10 assists cause she had teammates who can actually catch the ball. Angel has great hands, she's a perfect player to compliment CC.

If Reese can't come to Indiana, could CC go to Chicago, particularly if they move to the United Center? It's only a couple of hours away, so she wouldn't be that far from her BF. And the better arena likely has better all around facilities.

Cut Wheeler and resign Taylor. You could probably also keep Berger; she only needs to play 6 minutes and she probably already has some chemistry with Mitchell and Boston.
