I think the father's emotions are partly from his daughter getting older but also happiness from being able to get her the car and she was SO appreciative. What a great dad!! My parents never did a damn thing for me. But thankfully I'll be able to break the cycle of generational poverty in my family, and do this for my daughters when they graduate. I very much look forward to it!!

The pain in that fathers eyes to realize your baby isnt really a baby anymore. Sigh. I dread this moment in my life. Ill endure this twice. It makes me tear up just thinking about it now.
fastman454 That's because at 18 your culture allows your kids to go away. The relationship between parents and children go cold but here in my country children are always children in the eyes of their parents even at he age of 50
+Brian P Not exactly cold, but us Americans have this taboo where someone over 18 shouldn't be living at home. And would mostly visit our parents only during big events (thxgiving/xmas/bdays/etc.).
Ezekiel Paul I live in America and I've never experienced parent-children relationship getting cold. we with wife have a dinner with her parents at least once a month. She also goes for a walk with parents, takes them places. But we can't see my parents too often because they live in Europe, it's where I was born. So only 6 times a year. All I want to say is my friends see their parents more often than it's shown in TV or not only on Holidays.
+Ezekiel Paul Glad I dont leave in America then! nearly 30 and still leave at home, I have a degree, a good job and free health care (NHS) here in UK but getting a house is expensive and hard! But its ok as money I save living at home ive been blessed to see the world!

Envious are we that her parents bought her a car? They probably worked their asses off to make lives of themselves so they can bring oh a child like her. && while you're eating today, remember world hunger is going on as well..
